GREAT VIDEO. Seems I got two case hits in the one box I opened! PCA rookie image variant and Aaron Judge base. Also Jackson Jobe should be up next year - so that’s 4!
I opened two boxes. One had a logofractor, future stars, gold to 25, auto, of Cedanne Refaela. Probably a $100 card. The other had a logofractor SP of Jason Dominguez. Also around a $100 card. I didn't do bad.
I bought five boxes off Topps’ website and wish I hadn’t. (Too late to cancel They’re being delivered tomorrow.) I actually don’t mind the price point. 2022 Logofractor boxes routinely sell for $130+. It’s coupling that elevated price with the materially bigger checklist that stinks. Yes, you’ll get hits out of the Logofractor packs, but they’re now more likely to be a scrub than a star. It’ll take a LOT of luck to make your money back or to get value out of these. Just like buying into a break, we’re all just gambling at this point.
John you are so right!!! Totally ruined this product! They will have to do something dramatic next year to bring this back. I never mind if a good product goes up a little in price but double the price and quadruple the print run is just F---ing awful!!! Shame on fanatics.
This problem has to do with Fanatics more than Topps. But the price increase of $50 to $65 to $110 is really a summary of everything wrong with this hobby right now. Fanatics is a PE firm and they will raise their prices and jerry-rig odds in their financial favor until they sell off the exclusive contracts and Topps when they recover their desired ROI. Sadly many of us are going to have to drop out of the hobby to bring that about. The sooner the better. I’m expecting a new gimmick that we can’t see yet for them to justify a price increase for update…
Topps saw how much people were making on the secondary market and nuked the whole product. The on card autos were a good addition, but everything else sucks.
I haven’t bought any Topps products in 2024 because of price. However, I still have the 4 sealed boxes of 2022 Logofractor. I’m turning more to non-sport cards if the price is right.
I watched all of Peds openings and that alone made me pass on this. I have bought a few singles on eBay of players I PC. In fact, I've pretty much stopped buying boxes and into breaks altogether and just buy singles of players I want to PC.
I bought one box...just one. Only so I could open one on my channel. But the price tag is pretty steep for what is essentially a mega box. I doubt I'll open any more. #TheHobbyist
Great break down video. Sadly I agree however experience reminds me the hobby has no memory. We should buy 20 cases and hold for 2 years. These will be worth more just on hobby hype and the consistency on declining products. Look at 22 logo now. Those are fire! 🔥 maybe I’m too logical.
Your content would be better if you showed pictures of what you are talking about. Show pictures of the prices on the website, show the past prices, etc.
2024 product is junk! Unless you get a 1/1 or hit a key rookie parallel, you lose money on a box or case. Overprinted, too many cards, too many base. This should teach Fanatics a lesson. Watch about 5-8 breaks and feel bad for the people that bought in on high priced teams and got nothing. Would be nice if the base packs had more than just base cards.
I think there needs to be a deeper conversation about why there is such an uptick in these type of videos talking about Topps and Fanatics ruining sports cards. Is it truly ruined, and if so who is really responsible (consumers and flippers)?. In my opinion i don't understand why everyone is always blaming Topps for the print runs and prices. The demand for quality sports card sets is and always will be too high to make everyone happy. The past 2 years this set was extremely difficult to get at retail price. I missed out on both drops. With a limited print run the prices skyrocketed to almost $200 a box. Should Topps maintain the status quo all for the sake of making a product juicier for the consumer when distributors and flippers were scooping up most of the product so that regular folks have a harder time affording or obtaining the boxes? I for one love the opportunity to rip some product and get cases and think Topps is doing the right thing by making products more available by cutting out the flippers. Sure, wax prices have increased but that is only because Topps is doing the smart thing by not letting everyone else gain from secondary markups while they get the least amount for the product they produce. Any business would be crazy to let things continue as they had been. If Logofractor was still only $40 or $60 do we really think there would be this many available? I know our guy Brett at Step N the Box would have got 5 or 6 cases if so. When certain products stop getting entire shelves scooped and we don't see crazy markups on release day then i can be convinced Topps is ruining things. Go back 10 years and you will not find so many videos and discussions on sports cards like they are so prevalent today. The hobby has grown exponentially, and the companies had to adjust.
I think Topps could have upticked the print run, but doubling the price was clearly a move to quell flipping interest. It priced most people out who enjoyed ripping the boxes. I just don’t have the cash at this price and will save my money for another product
@@jrgeb99 definitely agree with some being priced out. Puts topps in a catch 22 for sure. the point i was trying to make is that most people were priced out anyway. I had to pay $175 a box to quench my addiction last year. I'm a sucker.. lol.
@@chrisc4264 no doubt there are loads of parallels these days. But the only way to increase the print runs to have more for the consumer to buy and rip is to add more parallels. Otherwise the base sets will be 1000% junk and most people won't want to rip because there is no chance for hits. It's definitely challenging but couldn't agree more about the amount of parallels. I guess all we can hope for is a lot of tiered levels for collectors (not flippers)...
@@shawtymooresshortpulls8615 When I began collecting, we just had base cards. Oh the horror lol. It's now more about gambling than collecting. That's the unfortunate truth
So not going to lie I did buy 4 boxes thinking alright. Im a little bit regretting my decision. But it was only 4. I might rip 2 and see what happens. Im oomi g forward to update. Not looking forward to series 1.
$109.99 for a box and $2199.99 a case…they charge .19 cents more to buy by the case on the topps site. You’re supposed to give case pricing, less per item not more. They are ass-backwards at Topps.

Well on the flip side of things the hits that you do get will be more valuable since they are harder to obtain in the first place.
Depends on the secondary market. My eBay sales say that they don’t
I love 2 packs for $110
Funny indeed
Jackson Jobe and Jackson Rutledge.....
Classic!! Jackson 5!
Topps is just out to make money they don't care how it turns out just as long as the money keeps coming in...
Sad, but so true
Logofactor crazy
John, good info, where do you get your topps production information?
It was on the website I believe. Thanks for watching!
