I don’t think anyone else made Lilia cast the sigil, I think she saw something in Billy’s future that made her think he would need protecting. But Agatha explained that a sigil works on the witch who cast it too, so as soon as she was done Lilia forgot she had done it and she forgot about Billy’s existence. But when she re-emerges from the mud she’ll probably remember. 👀
Hat's off to Marvel's attention to detail. The song playing on the radio when William and Eddie are in the car is Dead of Night by Orville Peck, who's a queer Canadian country musician.
It's both, there's no reason it's not both. Lilia wouldn't see a Blackheart just because a random boyfriend said it, Rio (which isn't her name obviously either) is Agatha's Blackheart. Rio is the Green Witch for the Coven and trials which Teen is absolutely not), but she will have to leave to do her job and that leaves the slot open again for Teen (which he was trying to do with Sharon). Not to mention, the Road itself summoned Rio when asked through the spell. Sharon and Teen BOTH would have failed them the trials and gotten them killed because neither would be able to do the Earth Trial properly, but Agatha (arrogantly) wanted to keep Rio out and she knew who the Blackheart referred to from her point of view ("my heart is black and it beats for you"). It ends up Billy in the end, but it's both and they both do their parts to make the Road successful.

The requirements for a specific witch type is something the coven created. Billy, would be all types in one and suffice for any role. As for the trials, it has been Billy that's solved them (with help) so far.

Did it really? She said she was nearby, as Death always is. Is Rio a witch, or a cosmic entity? Why would a list for a coven include such a non-witch being? I don’t think he’ll find Wanda. I think more he may find a way to contact her in his trial in a moment of weakness. But a lot of people are theorizing Doom will have Wanda due to the comics.
I wonder if because Billy ran down the Trial stairs first, it shaped most around him? If you look around his room, everything in the trials and road is based on whats in there. We got the hanging lights from ep 5, board games, lorna wu and also the fleetwood mac poster, even colorful tree leaves. Also he is the connecting link to all the other witches (having met them before).

Billy is serious about his desire, but "unserious" if he thinks he's going to get with uncontrolled power, no formal training, no patience, and no coven.
One of my favorite moments is when Alice shows up in her officer uniform. It makes me think of what she said in episode 2 when she showed up at Agatha's house. Billy asks her how did she know where to come since he never gave her the address. She replies, *"I was a cop. That's going to be the answer to a lot of questions."*
Billy chose Williams body, it wasn’t random. William had a penchant for magic, maybe Billy sensed him and “Death” looked the other way when Billy jumped in Williams corpse. Remember how powerful Billy was in Wandavision? He did the same thing Steven Strange did in MoM when he jumped in the dead bodies to fight Wanda. . I wonder what toll Billy will owe Mistress Death... I got a bad feeling ;(
Overall, I really like this show, even though some of the episodes have been hit or miss. But this episode was really good storytelling. They could’ve spent 10 minutes with lengthy dialogue to explain everything, but instead they took the time to show us versus telling us. That’s good storytelling.
I interestingly like the episodes many fond "miss.". I enjoy the episodes with less Marvel lore and more character development for the witches. The horror elements are my favorites as well. Some love these details of origins etc, and I like it but not my favorite.
Some seem confused on X what happened, Its basically an Origin story from the comics William the guy we saw at the start is Dead, As the Hex was fading Billy knew he was dying so needed to find a body to survive. It's pretty grim when you think about it for all of them Williams Parents lost their son, Billy becomes this new person and has to pretend to be someone else. Agatha in the Comics is one messed up character she walked the Withes road as a Ghost with Wanda, her powers are actually up there with Thanos. It all depends how far they want to take reference from the comics but right now we've only seen 5% of what Agatha can really do. Those professional haters have a serious problem "Its Gay" yes Wiccan is Gay. "Its boring" no its not, its one of the best MCU series in a very long time and its being driven by character development not millions of pounds being spent on CGI that says or does nothing. Tommy in the comics already found a body but one of the more sinister government agencies found him as he started getting into Police trouble and he's locked up in a very secure unit. Cant see them going down this route, We know Wanda is back for 2 films and there is no way they are going to waste time showing how she returns to the MCU when a TV show can do it for them. I love this show its one of the few I've actually rewatched on Disney +
Is similar to the comics but no the same, in the comics Billy and Tommy souls goes back in time and got reincarnated, so the MCU always simplify for the audience, I think I prefer this version way better.

ngl i think if i enjoyed marvel stuff i would like this episode a lot more because billy's character would mean more to me😔 i got invested in this show because i like the witchy part of it, i love the coven and i love learning about agatha. i don't need a forty minute backstory episode for a character i don't care about 😭i knew he was billy from the second episode so i think the initial mystery around his character that made people care about him simply didn't work on me and therefore i haven't really cared about him throughout the show :/ but i'm also still not over alice dying last episode because she's my favourite character so part of that is probably also affecting my opinions. i might revisit this episode once the show is over and see if i feel any differently.
But you just knew and it was not confirmed yet and so are other audience. Also, Joe is a the lead as Kathryn, i think that was established from the very beginning. This episode is necessary as it is.

I loved this episode so much. I'm Jewish so the beginning meant a lot to me but having him having a genuine gay relationship made it perfect to me
