I really want to get a set for my ft-891, I love mine for the ft-2980! Seth is more than helpful that's for sure! as always great review buddy. I enjoy your content!
Thanks for the support. The FT-891 and FT-2989R are two of my favorite rigs. Be warned, this rig is heavy once you add the ARMOLOQ frames, PRC/117 bag and additional support bag to run the battery. I have the FT-857D set up the same way and boy do I feel it on the trail.
@@TheTechPrepper I bet! I hope to get an alice pack frame and an old school alice pack radio bag, i do a hellcat modification on the alice pack makes it 100x better. I've got a video of one on my channel indo believe! Keep the videos coming buddy!
Ya, keep in mind, when SHTF all you have left is HF , all that digital, and uhf/vhf repeaters it's all going to go, I have digital in my truck with quad band, but my backpack is a g-90 Chinese, and the 818 with a tuner, my antennas are a 9to 1 end fed multi band,a chameleon cha mpas 2.0 and some band specific long wires on a 49-1 transformer kit I built, on the 818 I have programed in local repeaters but near Salome not many, thanks for the videos if you have any ideas let me know 😀 😉 😊
You make an excellent point. We just use repeaters when times are good. Our group uses voice (FM and SSB) and digital modes successfully on VHF/UHF simplex over some decent distances. We fallback to HF NVIS on 40m/75m/80m. My current series on manpacks will cover HF soon. Welcome!
Elastic straps can be made from cutting strips from innertubes like bicycle or motorcycle innertubes. Thanx for the heads up on using a tactical camera style bag.
That’s a question for Seth. The ARMOLOQ website as a contact section. I’m looking at purchasing an IC-705 this year, so I’d be interested in this, too. 73
Yeah that'd be wildly successful for sure. The only problem with the 705 is the very deliberate way you need to connect everything to it. At-Connector and BNC being on opposite sides doesn't help rapid deployment. But ya know, if they nailed the 705 perfectly for one group, others would hate on it. I'm glad there's already a vibrant aftermarket for our niche desires. 👍
My pleasure. It certainly does. It’s the 4.5Ah Bioenno battery and it sits at the bottom of the bag. The Buddipole PowerMini sits nearly on top of it. I have plenty of photos on Instagram. The link is in the description if you’re interested.
I'm not sure about the brand. There are no markings. It was given to me by a family serviceman that was stationed in South Korea. I loved that hat and finally had to retire it after 5 years of continuous use. Thanks for the support!
Challenge accepted, Malen. I'm taking a beer with me next weekend. Spoiler alert, I will be testing the TPA pack frame for the FT-891. Reach out to Seth via the contact page on the ARMOLOQ website. He loves receiving feedback. I'll look out for your call if you're on a SOTA activation next Saturday.
The full specs for the Hazard 4 Objective are available: amzn.to/2X9ZDtY. Since this video was made, I've switched to the Helicon E&E pouch, but made a few alterations to it. Here's my current configuration: instagram.com/p/CPmHE3fDI7Q/
Shoot. I had feeling they were going to do this. You might be able to find one on Amazon. It's nice little option for the 817/8 along with its goodies.
Amazon sold out. don't know if they will be back in stock.bummer.they do have this one.HAZARD 4 Wedge(TM) SLR Camera Case .but i don't know if it would fit the same. i am new to all this and i am studying for my first test.if or when you have time can you check that one out and see if it will fit in it.TY Charley

There are rumblings already about the IC-705. That’s all I can say. :-)

How abt the UV5R HI HI KG6MN
Are you asking whether a pack frame would be useful for a UV-5R? Personally, I don't think a pack frame for an HT would work very well.
