Breaking Local News October 29, 2008 WPVI-TV. Phillies Win the World Series breaking "the curse" of 25 years since the city has won a Championship (Last major sports team, the 76'ers in 1983) *Local underdogs Wildcats of Villanova University pulled off one of the biggest upsets in NCAA history beating Georgetown in 1985. That was a pretty big deal for Philly.
Rest in Peace Harry Kalas and Gary Papa. Miss you guys a lot. :)
I was in 8th grade , watching the game with my family. incredible moment. Parade was unforgettable.

5 years later, July 13, 2019 when everything felt like we might do something this season (who knows - MAYBE things will change??) But after last nights total fail, deflating loss against the damn Nats. eh, it's looking more bleak every day. Jesus, I think the biggest team we have troublw with are those sad Marlins!! (wtf!!?)
Our pitching, especially this crap bullpen just stinks up the league! Unless that changes, maybe some big huge trade before the deadline for decent pitching..this 2nd half may feel very long. :(
