what is the best ship to convert to explorer yacht , based on quality, longevity and range .

Government research ships are usually best. But if you have big toys, heli, hangar etc the OSV's have much more capacity.

This is a rebroadcasted video from Yatco. Like...uhhhhh...what's going on with the conversion projects? Also I saw that YMB was Showing off the converted fishing graw,er that became a pirate themed yacht. BONNIE ROBERTS or something I think, but if you were going to sell that yacht, what would you reccomend the owner do to it and can you pit together a design layout to show us? Also, what is that boat going for and how much would a refit go for on something like that ? It's already a yacht....ish. just not a very good one

Bart Roberts needs major refit and system upgrades. You can buy it dirt-cheap, but after that it's a project. Still, it is a very capable vessel and worthy of someone's attention.

The history of this Dutch-built former Russian Icebreaker (Formerly: "Giant 1") is pretty interesting, especially *_after_* she became privately owned. The latest owner did a great job with her and there are few others with her overall capabilities.

Yes, the Swiss fellow who did the first conversion did a great job and was perhaps ahead of his time.

@@ExpeditionYachts This is a personal preference, but I loved the original canoe-type fantail with the wrap-around windows she had in the stern lounge. I get why they reconfigured it, and it worked out alright, but I feel it lost a bit of personality. She's still in my top 5. (Le Grand Bleu, Senses, Tranquility, and OKTO are the other 4)
We are so lucky she was saved from salvage in Mexico after laying up for so long! What a machine! Love the channel. I'm from Port Richey. Perhaps, the next time I'm down, I'll look you up and take you to lunch! I'd love to chat with you! I'm fascinated with your work! (I'd also love to hear what happened to that huge barge that was for sale down there for a while. The blue and white one that's been partially set up as a hotel, of sorts)
