I can tell this guy is so good and his videos are so full of useful tips cause i watch all of his videos in normal playback speed and not in 1.5!!! Congrats my friend!
It is always so good to watch your videos. I must say you have the best content on Power BI which is always explained so well. Would love to see more videos on designing. Great work Bas!
I agree, I've been watching them a lot recently to re design this report that I,ve inherited at work and it's giving me tons of idea and bonus point as I already know how to implement them. Thank you very much !
Man, i think i found one of the best channels teaching power BI on the internet. Amazing looks and very detailed and didactic steps. You gained a subscriber
How to power BI is providing top tier advise. Followed couple of your tweaks on simple dashboard and transformed the same visual with compliment background and the results were excellent. I wish you all the best and hope you keep providing valuable tips & tricks to data community and help them grow.
Today I learnt how to setting buttons on Power BI, I always gave up because the fill was black/White, now I can setting as I want. Thank You! How to Power BI.
Great news and tricks!! Looking forward to seen more design tips... If possible please update the description by adding the websites you used through this video 🙂
This looks great but curious what the benefits are behind this vs. the standard page tabs that already exist. Seems like additional work and sacrifice of report real estate.
just ux - might be a consideration if you believe it is clearer / nicer for the end user .. if space is a problem you could create a btn to show hide the menu
This is awesome Bas.... we never think about that Power BI has this much of capability do the customization we want... And of course not without your brilliant Tips as usual ...
Subbing and liking this video, very useful tips! Note: please put yourself in on a smaller corner of the screen so we see more of the PowerBI window :)
Thx so much from Bordeaux , France :- )) So useful and simple to understand ( specially the window + . :-) ) a comment : on my side I prefer timing like those videos => 3 videos same subjet around 10 minutes than 1 big of 30 :- ) Have a good day!
First of all, thanks for your videos. These are really useful and good to listen tour explanations. I try to use page navigator, following your guide but buttons are not working. Can you help me to fix it ?
Hello, Can you do a tutorial on how to create comparison report? Wherein we can compare various categories in one visuals. With a slicers that have multiple heirarchy? If that's a possibility. I haven't found any resource accross youtube discussing this aspect if its doable.
fabulous content! just don't forget to listen to the instructions and press CTRL+CLICK when testing the buttons - drove me bonkers for several minutes!!!
Dear Bas,I do enjoy your presentations, you do indeed provide alot insight and great ideas how to get things done in PowerBI. I have a more complex request. I need to implement a cascade page navigation and I'm not sure how to do this.
I love it. Thanks a lot. When I added the page navigator, it was not automatically added to the other pages. Any suggestions. I had to duplicate page 4 to copy the navigator bar.
Let's say I have 2 slicers. One is called Start Date time and one is called End Date time where you can select a date range. Is there a way to set the End Date slicer to list dates starting where the Start Date slicer ended? For example, if I selected Sep 20th as my start date, could I get the End Date dropdown slicer to start on Sep 21st? I can do this in Excel and Access, but can't find a way in Power Bl. Can please do this video
Amazing thank you so much this is a feature that is so easy to apply once you know how 👏🏿 👏🏿 👏🏿 👏🏿 👏🏿 👏🏿 keep up the tutorial your efforts not going unnoticed 😊
Great video. excellent. Only issue Im having is after I move the background shape to the back of the buttons. If I click on the shape the buttons disappear. Any way to fix this?
Hi @How to Power BI thanks for this class! In the minute 9:03 for the icons I press windows + period and doesn't appear the icons. Do you know other options so I can achieve the icons?. Thanks in advance.
Many thanks for this video BAs, it’s awesome. I followed all the steps - however, when I click on the buttons they don’t navigate to the pages.could you kindly advise
Awesome update, is it possible to add custom icons to the Page Navigaton buttons. I have organizational png files but I want to change format to icons to use on the buttons. If possible, can you do a video?
You are doing a great job...My work has improved significantly since discovery your videos...How can i achieve the dropdown menu from the Horizontal Layout ?
Not sure you can do it with on hover action. But maybe on click action with bookmark by clicking on a button, you will display à new rectangle with sub-menu options and be able to select one of the items. Just thinking… 🙂
Hi Bas, thank you for providing useful content always. Very helpful. I have one silly question. In case if i have a pro license of power bi and would like to publish a dashboard using sharepoint platform, can a user without bi pro lisense can veiw the dashbaord and interact?
Thank you, but this is still not there in power bi desktop for report server, old method holds good until then. I had done horizontal tabbed buttons with icons for my reports, hope this gets into PBIRS soon. 👍
Yes. But when you look at the report all the tabs are still listed. So, there is a duplication of menu's. One on the report via the navigation, and one on the tabs. Is there a way to remove all tabs?
Hey, just curious is there any use case for the navigation buttons (i.e. is this used in certain situations where the standard navigation isn't available) OR is it just an aesthetic thing since the built in navigator is only ok?
Love the value you are offering for free and the production quality. One of the under-rated channels on Power BI.
I double that! Thank you for giving us such high quality content for free
Always good to see download option for the tutorial without asking for money.
hope it helps you 🙂

Great video! Using in my next project for sure
always nice to hear when people can use it in their projects 😀thx Oselio!
I really like your ideas they are really creative. By the way, why does the layout of your Power BI look so different? did you change a theme?.
Thanks for the clear explanation. What happens with hidden pages? Do they appear on the menu or not?
hi Rainer, depends what you choose. Have a look at the general options in this 1 minute video: ruclips.net/video/5CXw2-L0dNQ/видео.html
There is a filter in the Format pane so you can decide whether to show them or not.

Maybe On Hover.. Have items dropdown that are associated with that page ?
Not sure you can do it with on hover action. But maybe on click action with bookmark by clicking on a button, you will display à new rectangle with sub-menu options and be able to select one of the items. Just thinking… 🙂

Thank you, but this is still not there in power bi desktop for report server, old method holds good until then. I had done horizontal tabbed buttons with icons for my reports, hope this gets into PBIRS soon. 👍
indeed only from dec 21 , big advantage is lower maintenance
Yes. But when you look at the report all the tabs are still listed. So, there is a duplication of menu's. One on the report via the navigation, and one on the tabs. Is there a way to remove all tabs?

So how do I get rid of the page tabs at the bottom and how do online the pages to the buttons as they didn’t work for me. Thanks.
