It'd be really cool if these had a fan that would blow the foam farther, then you could get the foam cannons to oscillate back and forth covering a very wide area. Maybe leave the end ones stationary and have the ones in the middle oscillate back and forth.
I wonder how well this system would have worked in an old wooden hangar like the Yankee Air Museum's. Would it have saved the aircraft, artifacts and structure, or does the construction of the modern hangars play a larger part in combination with the foam?
jpatt1000 , This system is missing the underside of the aircraft foam nozzles. We go high and low simultaneously to suppress fires that begin under the aircraft.
There was an incident at Teterboro Airport in NJ when an AFFF system was accidentally activated and there was a G5 inside the hanger with it's door open, well let's just say it was a costly accident.
angryadrien people keep saying it's to protect people not property but with how slow that test was my ass would have been out way faster than that foam even started to spread
I agree but foam is a blanket. It’s to prevent a fire happening from a spill. Hence why there in hangars, battery storage rooms, drums containing highly flammable fluid, etc. I see foam a lot. Pittsburgh LU 542
The NFPA 409 committee have again rejected the use of 'inside air' for high expansion foam production in aircraft hangars. Outside air has to be used for life safety.
1) This is a foam distribution test, not a fire suppression test. 2) There was unequal distribution from the fans - I hope you can correct that design flaw. 3) Why were the dispensers only on one side? That vastly slowed the effect of the foam and increased fire damage. 4) The video is not otherwise very useful, since it gives no data about how much foam was produced, how long it took to fill the hanger, etc., and, of course, it didn't show how effectively it can put out a fire.
It actually starts at 1:58

This looks so fun, I would love to just play hide and seek in it with like 5 people
same or marco polo
This is a childhood dream

did you not see the video or something? they have fans
@@darkfur18 did you not read what I said?
@@darkfur18 did you stop reading 5 words into what he was saying or something?? 😂
When engineers throw a rave party...
Great thing for concerts
Minus the cancer causing chemicals
Nice man
The janitor quit.
The Interesting Nobody nope this means he has job security!
I wish I could have a tour of how it all works
Foam: I am the almighty powerful, I will never be stopped. What did you human bring to stop me?
Guy: A bucket
Foam: 👁👄👁
Sick beats bro! Love the decaying clarity too...
Great song for this video!
Its kinda scary imagining being alone in that big room and that shit starts foaming and gettin all loud. I dunno its just looks too strange
I honestly don’t know why but this is kinda cool but also terrifying to me.
....now my kids want one of these :)

What was the cause of the activation?
Plot twist, the foam tank room catches on fire
hope this shit isn't toxic
If it contains PFOS then it's toxic, which is common in fire foam.
burning to death is also toxic
There are already fans in the foam generators
When you show your girl your meme page
it takes too long for the foam to spread across the floor...
they should have installed half of the dispensers on the opposite wall
angryadrien people keep saying it's to protect people not property but with how slow that test was my ass would have been out way faster than that foam even started to spread

Someone told me how this FOAM fire fighting system was designed?
It looks nice but if fire was inbetween jets it would take a while before foam got high enough to take effect.

Looks lke lots of fun
great vidio
It’s a foam party eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
what's the foam made of? is it a huge mess to clean after if becomes non foamy?
Do R/C! I’m not entirely sure what the foam in fire suppression systems are made from...but the foam dissolves and can be cleaned up with water
How many square feet is that hanger?
At least the floors had a good clean LOL
Cool as a baby
Interesting. The music is pretty awesome, where is it from?
Never mind, I found the music. The artist is Cosmixone, and the song is Silicon Juice.
out of all the peeps that hatted the music your the one minecraft kid that likes it...
Now i understand how most airports can be so polluted from this foam.
And what can it do? - a hangar full of foam?
0:52 it has a fan inside of it
now how long does it take to clean all that up?
Epiccatsandkittens Probably a long time
A week
probably 1 hour its foam so all you need is water to vaporize the foam then clan up the water with god knows what and then your done
That makes sense. Its an aircraft hangar and they might want to get planes stored in there ASAP.
12 to 24 hours
Imagine having to clean that up
Just wait until the system goes off accidentally and destroys all the equipment inside!! 🤣
What is coverage area for one fan(generator)....
Foam party!!!🤘
looks like some alarms had too much to eat

Glenn McGrew II it was a cool video. now shut up
You must be fun at parties.
ethan applefeld I don't deny that it was cool. but why don't you stop being a troll?
mxNoob actually, I can be. this isn't a party, though.
Glenn McGrew II that's not really what a troll is...
What are the blue barrels used for?
They were using those as depth markers.
Why doesn’t the fans push the foam further? 5’ is nothing. Engineers back to the drawing board!
I rather just have the place burn down and rebuild it than to clean all that up
FOAM PARTY!!!!!!!!
good luck with that bucket lol
what was the name of the song? it was awesome!
Is it toxic?
If you ingest it, I believe. if you cover your mouth and nose you can walk through it.
All that for a bucket of foam? ha!
after initial start up, a sample is needed to assure proper mixing is being done.
"only two minutes" Two minutes is only a minute and a half to long.
It's too slowly! The fire with gasoline, benzin or kerozin burning faster then the foam could extinguish the fire! ;)
It reminds me of costco
"video" footage
Shut you damn music down and just let us hear and see the video
Anil Löeb you are totally right

That is not fun
That music was terrible.
Could he have picked even more annoying music?
