I love your style of editing! This video is so calming and peaceful. It really captures the beauty of the city. I'm looking forward to visiting Turku myself. :)
The old beautiful buildings were built when Finland was under the Russian Tsar. Unfortunately a lot of them were torn down in the eighties and nineties and were replaced by ugly concrete boxes. Without this, Turku could have been the Paris of Finland.
Russia conquerd eastern part of Sweden in 1808-1809, area is now called Finland. Finland was not "under the Russian Tsar", but autonomus part of the empire. Most of the beautiful buildings were build during the Swedish time and they were destroyed in great fire in 1827. Then thanks to Soviet airforces and their bombs, lots of buildings were destroyd by them during the war 1939-1944. After the war the leftists ruled Turku 1945-1976 and they allowed to demolish many buildings from the 19th century and the tram-system as well. In the 80's and 90's few buildings were deconstructed any more. Turku is now almost 800 years old, buildings come and buildings go.
May I ask what app you edit in and what camera you shoot with? Wonderful atmosphere throughout the entire video! 💞 It was nice to see hometown through your eyes!
Turku is such a beautiful place with, at least compared to Helsinki, incredibly calm atmosphere. But did you know that there is a funny nickname the city has. For some time Turku has been called the "Suomen Persereikä" or "Suomen Perseenreikä", both of which share the same meaning: Finlands asshole (suomen = finlands : perse = ass : reikä = hole) From my own experience this tends to be due to the fact that people from some cities might have prejudice towards the people of other cities, It's quite common to hear people from Helsinki to make playful fun of people from Tampere, Turku is no different :D I'm sure there is no actual history or meaning behind the term, it just happens to be, and has been for a while that Turku is Finlands "asshole"...
@@tombjorkfors I dunno man, I was there recently and on a Friday evening the restaurants where closing by 21.30 and I went to subway.. it was in August SUMMER!
@@tombjorkfors not sure about the Turku a**hole part, my Helsinki friend was joking about that. And enough restaurants to know I will not be going back anytime soon. :) the old town part was very nice though
Absolutely aesthetic em ơi, the scene, the colors, the music, the vibe...! Looking forward to seeing more of this

I think Finland in general is super pretty in the summer, so we gotta enjoy it while it last 😂

Your videography is like poetry. I learned the same minimalism from an Iranian filmmaker named Abbas Kiarostami. Best of luck. 🖤

A Finnish friend of mine from Helsinki told me Turku is known as the as*hole of Finland... 😂
What a silly remark!
