Insightful review. Thank you! I want to buy a Keylab 88 MK2 but I am hesitating to purchase one because of the complaints about the clicking and uncomfortable sound of the keys reported by several users on forums. What is your experience with the keybed of this controller?
It’s a great keyboard for MainStage. I’m partial to the Roland RD-2000 for its feel, but totally different price bracket. It’s a great value midi keyboard
Yea the studio logic grand Sl88 triple sensor for 999 made by fatar. I think the sL88 grand has a better fatar keyboard with triple sensor than the model you got which only has the dual sensor by fatar. Studio logic is Fatars house brand and has none of the buttons…it’s just for piano players..the thing you got is for synth and music producers who also play piano.
hey there, i've only used it on and off during this past season, but i do enjoy it :) nothing beats the feel of a real piano, but it definitely is some of the best keybed action out there
very tempted to get one....but awfully afraid of the cable connections as i wud want to hook up studio speakers etc...and will need an audio interface unit... i am a dopey beginner and will mess things up

Totally agree!
A lot of people complain about the slightly sluggish keybed. Of course this is a very subjective thing.
As an aside you can get a thunderbolt to usb B cable, no hub required.

I think some of the hammer action digital pianos may have more realistic grand piano action, the best being the Kawaiis.
