6 and a half months pregnant with my first baby, this video has inspired me to go through my baby registry list and take some unnecessary things off, so THANK YOU 💙
I totally agree. I think nowadays there is so much pressure on parents to buy the 'in things' and people and magazines etc making you think you need all of this stuff when you really don't. 90 percent of this list wasn't around for our parents and they all managed fine and I think we all forget that. Yes we all would like the best for our children but they're just babies! I think I agree with you the most on the clothes...I spent so much money on outfits for my daughter and didn't end up using over half of them as she was just in babygrows for the majority of the time. She was either leaking..or sick on clothes and it's such a waste of money. Congratulations on the subscribers x
I agree with Stacey. I prefer snaps. I hated the zipper ones, its like you almost have to completely undress baby to change a diaper in the middle of the night.
Loved this video. With the nose sucker use saline drops first to soften the snot and then use the snot sucker. Very very effective. Agreed with everything else you mentioned.
My sister uses the snot sucker when he is asleep as he makes such a fuse if you try to touch his nose with anything but doesn't know she is using it when he's asleep.
I wished someone had told me to not buy: 1- t-shirts (they never stay in place, they roll under the armpits and the baby stomach is always showing) 2- clothes that don't open on the front And I the most important : always use clothes a little bit bigger, they are easier to dress and undress and more comfortable
I actually loved tshirts.. easier to deal with, and I found my chunky son Winnie the poohing with his stomach out to be quite funny when his shirts were getting too small. Also, if you buy a size up, it doesn't really happen.
Hm. It´s about the weather. I used only flip flop onesies (my baby is May born and the weather here is very hot, from May to August about 33°C). T-shirts - I used long sleeved with front opening as a second layer to air conditioned room (shop, restaurant etc.)
To warm the wipes, I just stuck a sheet on my forearm or even back of my neck while I took off the dirty diaper. Your body heat warms it up nicely in seconds!
When I was pregnant I didn’t want to have a baby shower because I knew people would get me things I didn’t want nor need, or a bunch of clothes. I ended up having one because family insisted and piled up so much clothes that my son used only a couple times, other clothes he never wore, or items that we never used. I wanted to wait till baby was here and see what they needed as they grew or with each new stage. Awesome video with great tips!
I didn’t want a baby shower at all but my husband talked me into it. I did put in the invitation what I wanted to stay away from and to please include bigger clothes if they wanted to gift clothes, I was soooo surprised at the baby shower when I got a lot of the things from my registry that were practical! I barely received clothes! I got things like bottle sets of my favorite bottles when I was a nanny, a microwave bottle sanitizer, and things of the sort that I had experience with! My husband taught me to politely speak up about what I want/need there was only a couple of people who included things I knew I wouldn’t use, I still thanked them but I know they’re going to eventually be donated.
Same! I just googled all the clothing brands and returned them all to the stores. Mostly because I had a girl and the clothes were hysterically absurd. Like costumes of giant head to toe frills and bows larger than life. After returning everything I had gift cards for things I found I needed as time went on.
We have a few mommy n baby second hand stores where I live. I have taken clothes there and basically traded them for what we did need. Clothes with tags are an extra plus!
Thankyou Emily, this was very helpful to me , I'm currently pregnant with my first baby and was feeling so overwhelmed with what I actually need to get apposed to what is in all the shops
First time mom here (32 weeks pregnant) and so far I haven’t bought my baby anything. We got some essentials at our baby shower like the car seat, stroller, diapers, clothes etc and other than that we are playing it minimal. We will buy things as we need them. I’m one of six kids and my mom was super minimal too. There’s just so much babies don’t need and the baby supply industry takes advantage of moms desire to give their babies everything! Thanks for this video! ❤️
A stroller is a life saver for me. Also the zip up swaddlers from Love to Dream and a white noise machine that changes color (red for sleep). Trust me.
Love this! It’s very clear to see that you put so much time and through into your channel. Our baby regret was buying a bottle “starter kit.” We spent so much money on it when I was pregnant and when baby came along she decided she didn’t like the bottles we had picked out, complete waste of money! If i were to do it again I’d get as many free bottles as possible and buy the kit after giving birth xx
Becky T totally agree. I got special glass baby bottles before baby was born because of course plastic is the devil (first time mom lolz!) and NEVER used them. They were way too heavy baby wouldn’t touch them and with breastfeeding my baby ended up going straight to a straw cup at 1 year old and we didn’t even use the bottles! And yes I am thankful for plastic now I’m a mama haha.
I had so forgotten we did this too! Bought a whole range of bottles and he hated them! We had to go out and try multiple different ones before we got there!
I can tell you’re a seasoned mom, this is the best video I’ve seen on baby products that aren’t necessary. The only thing I disagree with is the pacifiers. My kids didn’t all take them, but they’re so inexpensive I always start off with a couple on hand. 💕
Thanks for your videos and the time you take to make them. I'm a new mom to be I'm 6 weeks pregnant an I feel really lost your videos have helped lot I now don't feel so uncomfortable about baby things an what I need so a big thank u
I love how informative your videos are! I am currently pregnant with my first child and I love watching your videos to help me decide what to buy and what not! Thank you
Love this video! I'm due in May and some of these things people swear I'll need but I've questions. It feels so nice to hear another mum say it's okay to wait on them or use a more practical substitute. This momma is on a budget!
I did go all out for my newborn’s clothes and shoes, I was a nanny for a long time and my favorite part of the day was getting the baby ready in cute little outfits that matched! I watched the same little girl for a few years and I never got tired of putting outfits together and doing her hair. When I found out I was having a little girl I already had enough experience to know what kind of a person I am, and that I still think it’s cute to put little soft crib shoes on her even if she doesn’t walk. It’s the same concept as a bow. just there to look cute! Everyone is different though but I did enjoy the cute outfits and shoes a lot!
Oh I am so with you on the wipe warmer 🙈 This is a great twist on the classic baby product hack lists. Your channel is so honest, refreshing & you are so genuine. Lovely video xx
Lol, I agree with everything you said!! We had nearly all those things and never used them or found they just didn't work. I totally recommend waiting as well until you have your baby and just seeing what they like etc. All those pacifiers we got as gifts and I think I bought one as well, just sat and were never used.
Loved your videos. It’s not easy preparing and shopping for a baby during lockdown. This is my first baby and my entire pregnancy has been just confined at home. I’m due in 2 weeks and my husband is stuck abroad and will miss the birth. I have bought only the very essential items for the baby and myself. Thank you for helping people like me.
The nose sucker is the best! Soooo handy when they're stuffed up. And instead of the mesh teether, get the Boon silicone one. Easy to clean, easy for them to hold; it's perfect! Also, instead of the jolly jumper,.you need the jumper with the hard rim around the top.
This is so helpful!!! I am 6 months pregnant with my first child (a girl) and I am so thankful to have videos like this to help me from overbuying and over spending.
I totally agree with all your baby regrets! I also regret spending money on a high chair because I can use a booster seat for both on-the-go and at home instead! Finally, a tip to prevent losing small items in your wash is to put them in a mesh bag. I never lose baby socks anymore!
I definitely agree with the baby shoes and clothes like jeans etc so uncomfortable for them but one product we got given and I've used like once is a baby food blender! A hand blender does the same job plus less to clean up x
It is amazing that how you manage everything with 3 boys and you are still so calm, hats off mama, you are my inspiration. Love all the way from Sri-Lanka.
Expecting our first and so watching all these channels. I realised a rule a while back.. Notice how vloggers talk mainly how cute things are when they're still pregnant (first time) and then when the baby is out, they only talk about practicality :-))))
Washable breast pads work for me. My bra is tight enough that they don't move around. We have a mesh bag for delicates that I put them in so they don't get lost in the wash. I also use the bag for baby socks and scratch mittens.
I totally agree with some of yours, especially the scratch mitts! I do love wooden toys though rather than plastic (although we have plastic too), and elc and Melissa and dug do some lovely colourful ones. I used to buy loud, light up plastic toys when my Evie was a baby, but noticed that she's entertained for a lot longer with natural, open ended toys. I've also found I buy her less toys as they aren't so age specific. I also didn't put her in proper clothes often for the first 3 months, and she just lived in sleepsuits! I regret buying so many blankets as well - we were given lots and ended up with loads, when Evie has always preferred the sleep bags.
Emily, I completely agree with not needing to buy newborn baby shoes. I did buy my daughter her first white converse shoes to match me. But I decided to use them as my daughter Charli's first Christmas tree ornament. I just thought it would be a nice touch and I had her wear them in her 5 month Christmas baby photo. So it's nice to get a memory for your Christmas decorations out of it! 😁
Firstly yay to 150k, so amazing! You're a massive inspiration to lots of us. Secondly oh my goodness those fruit holders, I really agree with you on that one they are a nightmare and newborn shoes!! Massive waste of money xx
I love my reusable nursing pads! I purchased those with leak-proof backing, like from Kindred Bravely and some cute patterns off etsy. I keep a small washable mesh bag that I hang off the side of my laundry hamper to keep them together and not lost in there wash.
I always find your videos so useful! I have a three month old baby and I followed your advice on the good latch and in fact I have been solely breastfeeding her since day one!!Thank you so much for sharing all your opinions with us xx Merry Christmas!
plaidninja1411 ruclips.net/video/f2xlxRO-Y_Q/видео.html I believe this is the video Teresa was referring to. There are also other helpful videos on RUclips, or discuss the issues you’re having with your doctor or a lactation consultant so they can help you.
For all of the small laundry items get a mesh wash bag, I’ve used that for my adult socks and undergarments it’s quite handy they can be washed in the bag and you don’t lose anything
Marthe Cecilie Olsen I have the one by Munchkin, it has one center little hole through which my baby managed to such a piece of fruit out. She choked and I never used it again, I think they are still dangerous.
Similar to your comment about towels. Face washers for cleaning hands or face. They don’t need to be baby sized. Adult ones work perfectly fine. I did have the nasal sucker and even though my daughter cried and hates it, I get so much out of her nose I can almost see the relief in my face when she realises she can breathe clearer. Love your videos Emily.
Wow, did is what we did when our baby turned out bigger than expected and we had to use socks cause all the mittens I bought were smaller. The only thing I don't like though are the pictures of his firsts few days looking weird having socks on both hands and feet.😊😄
So agree about the toys and we found out for the first couple of months they need contrasting colours! As they can only really see black and white! My 4 months old loves colourful things and mamas and papas have a range of playmats, tummy time rolls that are black and white and red with other colours on them! The only toy she’s loved since day one alongside a bright green fisher price play mat! Certainly doesn’t go with my living room scheme but she loves it and is so fascinated by the colours! Would really recommend the black, whit and red mamas and papas range as well as they’re able to distinguish the colours from very early on, which is brilliant for their development! X
More than anything, lists of products NOT to bother with is so so helpful! I hadn’t considered getting so of the items but that’s because I haven’t delved into all the products out there (still just 17 weeks) but after this I am sure of 99% of these items I will skip over! Thank you 🤗
I really appreciated this video! I would put nursing pads into a laundry mesh bag to prevent losing them. Also the same if people have small baby laundry items. I found the cotton ones to be really useful
I COMPLETELY AGREE with the nasal aspirator and baby towels! Everyone I know loves the aspirator but my son hates that more than the bulb because it takes so much longer! People say it's "gentler" but my son doesn't like me cleaning out his nose no matter how I do it so the faster the better. Also, baby towels are not absorbent enough for me. If I could do it over I wouldn't buy any!
Great video! In regards to baby hooded towels I still use mine now as hair turbans after I’ve washed my own hair. I tip my head forward put the hood part on the back of my head and wrap my wet hair up in the towel. My daughter is 7 and they are still going strong!
Thank you for this video. Pregnant with first. Plan on using a lot of hand me downs and only the essentials. My mom has 8 children her number one advice was to not buy any newborn clothes. Start at 3-6 mos. Which I plan on doing.
Bubbles 28th there’s a difference between newborn and 0-3 months. My daughter fit in newborn for 5 weeks and 0-3 months for 12 weeks after. I’d get a few of 0-3 like a small selection of vests, baby grows, sleep suits x
I totally agreed with you...that's why I didn't buy any new born baby clothes bcoz some of my friends gave me new born baby clothes and that's is count as new bcoz they only use it for 3 or 4 times.the baby grow fast.😊
Yes on the nose aspirator! I gave up after only a few tries, and found they never really relieved congestion anyway. When they have colds they drop snot everywhere no matter how often you try to suck it out, and the congestion comes from inflamed tissue, not snot. So I stopped bothering with them. Much less stressful that way!
Just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Emily. I've always felt that "What to do" was just as important as "what not to do" (or buy in this case). Hope to learn much more. Thank's! D
I use the mesh for teething. I’ll boil carrots and freeze the juice in the mesh. Helped with teething and gently introducing solid foods for baby’s with sensitive stomachs
Never bought any of those things u mention..except mittens..they were my favorite just cuz they look so cute! Hard to find mittens that’s actually stay on though!
About the nasal aspirator - our pediatrician told us that you're not supposed to use only the nose sucker, that is actually just irritating the mucus membranes even more. The proper way to do it is to use saline drops or spray first, let it sit and then suck it all out with the aspirator. Great video otherwise and happy new year! 😊
I totally agree about the nose aspirator - I haven't even had the guts to use it yet! Saline spray all the way! But I loved my washable breastpads! My disposable ones used to move around much more than the washable ones, and the sticky-back ones used to stick to themselves and get all screwed up inside my bra. We must just have different shaped boobs, Em! Hehe!
I think this is the best baby related video I've ever watched! So honest and I totally agree with you. A regular towel will dry a baby just the same as a baby towel! We didn't get on with the mesh weaning things either
The wipes warmer was the worste purchase I ever made! It gave my (third) baby a cyst on his bum because the warmth is a bacteria feeding ground and I am an extremely clean person so I knew it had to be the wipes because I googled it and tons of other moms experienced the same thing and it was the only thing I had done differently with any of my kids. Such a painful thing for a baby to experience too at soo young. He now has a scar from it too.
Thank you so much for sharing that. I'm pregnant with my first and I was thinking of buying a wipe warmer because he's due soon, but this scenario never even crossed my mind.
I used a warmer for my wipes for MY daughter 28 years ago (no, this is NOT a new product!) and I’ve used it for all 5 of my grandkids. I’ve had NO problems and I can’t imagine using ice cold wipes on MY bum, why would I do that to a tiny baby!? YIKES!
@@Elizabeth-rp1pi she said why in her comment... "It gave my (third) baby a cyst on his bum because the warmth is a bacteria feeding ground and I am an extremely clean person so I knew it had to be the wipes because I googled it and tons of other moms experienced the same thing and it was the only thing I had done differently with any of my kids"
You are so right about the mesh thing! I had the exact same problem with it and only used it like twice. On the other hand, our moses basket was absolutely essential. Both our babies slept in it until they were 4 months old and we'd have it beside our bed at night and then move it to the living room during the day. LOVING your channel, I have been binge-watching your videos, especially the hacks! Greetings from Greece!
The only time I use the nose sucker thingy was on my toddler when she got playdoh stuck up her nose-it really worked and prevented me needing to go to a&e. Thank goodness I remembered I had it😀😀
Wipes warmers??? I absolutely looove those!! From 1st to 4th baby, I've always used mine! Keep it plugged up and drop some water in it if needed, but warmth is soo much more comfortable than a cold wipe. Just imagine putting a cold face cloth anywhere on your body- very shocking initially.
I love your videos!! I just found out that I’m expecting for the first time and your videos are so informative!! Thank you for sharing I feel like I can be ahead of the curve. I’m very sensible and frugal. I also like to plan so you give me confidence in what I’m capable of as well as confidence in the knowledge i will need to make my life easier as a new mom! Keep going I love your channel❤️❤️
Wow I totally agree with all the ítems u mentioned!! I felt so identified! I went crazy buying stuff that was worthless after they baby arrived! One thinng i aboslutely regret having chosen ( it was a gift from mother in law)is a hice heavy Chicco stroller with matching car SEAT with lots accessories. So heavy and big that it's Even didnt fit inside our old car trunk and sooo difficult and heavy to fold!! ( 1st baby so forgot to measure). I'm pregnant now again with second child and i'm going to Carry my baby with me in a "fular"(i'm in Argentina) which is an elástic fabric wrap that holds your baby safe with you. , So You can mover around hands free !so, I'm going to sell the heavy stroller and maybe buy a super light easily foldable travel size stroller !!
Mine has to be the electric steriliser. I have a small kitchen and it was just massive and took up so much space. Once I found the Tommee Tippee microwave one, I’ve never looked back. I stored it in the microwave so my worktop was free. I took it camping and could use it as a cold water sterilising bucket. Perfect and so much cheaper xx
Agreed!!! Wipes warmer, shoes & scratch mittens were my biggest regret with my first. I’d like to say for first time moms don’t purchase anything but the crib, onesies and pajamas. After baby is born see what’s needed & what’s not.
A baby walker was such a waste for me, my little boy didn’t like being it in at all and much preferred his vtec push along, currently 27 weeks with my second and loved watching this video! Agreed with all bar 1, I loved the nose sucker thingy 😬 and my little boy didn’t mind me using it to get his boogers xx
Sophie Clifford I love the nose sucky thing too. My almost 5 month old learnt super quickly that it’s a genius tool and will wait so patiently still when she sees it coming now.
I found a full-sized baby changing station at a thrift store for $25. It came with drawers and shelves for extra storage and happened to be cherrywood-colored so it matched the crib perfectly! For that price, it was a steal. Plus, I don't have a baby dresser so the additional storage is going to really help out. I'd say, if you find something like that, get it, even if you aren't going to use the changing station on top every single time.
To get around the cold baby wipes problem, I would buy dry wipes on amazon by a company called Medline, and dip them in a bowl of warm water. We did this for our newborn for the first weeks and then switched to water wipes, and then Kirkland wipes from Costco. I regret buying a baby swing, bc my daughter used it so rarely. I wish I bought a rocking chair, bc I rocked her so many times that I blew out my back a few times. It’s okay...we make these mistakes but we learn from them. Emily, I agree with you that you should bring your baby to the store and let them try products. They usually like the loudest colors or simple items you’d never think of.
I agree with all of this except the changing table. I've had back surgery and then had a c section so bending over on the bed or floor to change baby on a diaper changing pad was torture until I got my changing table. So convenient and easy to change baby standing up and especially clothing him after a bath. So yeah depends on your situation! Love your channel!
@@kamenn988 i had a blue one from target, I think the brand was summer infant that absolutely saved my back. It fit down into the kitchen sink so he wasn't awkwardly high like the ones that go next to the sink and drain down.
Another great solution is getting a dresser that’s at the right height for you and put the changing pad on top. This way you can use the dresser from when they’re babies up until they’re older and you save space in your room :). Unless you get a changing table as a hand-me down🤗 You can also set up your baby bath in the kitchen on the table or counter or if you have a big enough counter in your bathroom. This way you don’t have to bend down to wash baby or grab things :)
Mom2mom mumaroo....cost a fortune and my baby hated it. It was far to gentle at rocking. He wanted to be vigorously shaken haha!! Love your video as always x x
Totally agree with you on the wipe warmer! I actually watched a lot of 'worst baby items' videos when I was pregnant which all said that wipe warmers were a waste of money, but for some reason I thought I'd give it a go. Kicking myself for it now 😆
I knew wipes warmer was going to be on there! We used Water Wipes with it, which are wetter than regular wipes, worked perfectly. I loved the warmer. I used it until he potty trained.
This was super helpful! I'm currently 36 weeks pregnant and had a few of these items on my list to buy but wasn't sure if they were really practical.. now I know!
I agree with everything you said! Except the door bouncer thing, both my babies didn’t care about the jumperoo but loved the door bouncer, you’re right though you can’t walk away as they do swing towards the door frame
I LOVE our wipe warmer! I agree that the baby towels are a bit of a waste, I also regret buying the Raybaby camera, the load time is awful! (for most cellphone connected cameras, stick with the good old handheld monitor - much quicker & more reliable.
Very helpful tips there! I am due beginning of November so it will get chilly but i don't see the logic in wiper warmers really and its true pre birth we think we will use all these crazy stuff on a tiny human but it seems they have a strong opinion at times (highly experienced aunty talking) so i think i will be sticking to the bare necessities that mummy and baby needs
Totally agree. Especially the jumper which I thought was dangerous. I liked the hood on the baby towels but they always got quite hard. The play mat wasn't very good and by the time he got used to it he was too big for it. Great video!
I love this video! I regret buying a diaper pail. It does NOT block smell and basically kept the diapers around longer than if we had just thrown them out with the kitchen trash. The only thing I disagreed with you on was the passifier. We used them so much from day one! My husband has a thing now, if one of his friends is having a baby, he puts together a gift bag of teething gel, the swaddleme, and at least 10 passifiers of all different kinds. He calls it his new dad emergency kit! 😂
Kaytie Buckhalt I hated the diaper genie when I was a nanny but I don’t like pacifiers. I had to argue with my husband about this one. I’ve never used them with kids and they always did great without them. I just don’t like them 🤷🏻♀️
Alanna Arends I'm not a fan of them either (and I refused them when I was a baby) but the World Health Organization recommends pacifiers to prevent SIDS.
I also used a lot of pacifiers. And when it’s time, you just trow them out. My youngest didn’t have a pacifier at all times, she ended up sucking her thumb. Can’t throw that out!
I love your channel so much I’ve been watching you for a while. Frazer you are so caring Caleb your so cute Jackson your just the best behaved boy I know Emily your the best mom and your a inspiration Mat your a great dad and really care for your boys
Agree with all of those Emily! I also bought that mesh food thing. Gross after one use! And the aspirator thing I never got the hang off either. Another waste of time and money for me was a baby bath.. Kitchen sink works a treat.. Perfect height for washing baby. No need to break your back hunching over a bath! Xx
So far I can say that I absolutely loved the baby wipe warmer (parents choice would never dry out in that thing, even when I left it for 5 days on when I left on a trip). Reusable pads were my life! Snot sucker was amazing for me, it worked well. Also, there actually certain time that he actually loved it!
Totally agree on those mesh feeders, I've heard really good things about the silicone ones though. I'd say my biggest regret with my children was purchasing a highchair with lots of little cracks and crevices. They just collect all the food and are impossible to get clean. Really wish I would of purchased a simple highchair like the Stokke tripp trapp.
I got the basics of what was needed. I didn't go off and spend a ton of money on things that wouldn't really be used. Don't get me wrong i thought of buying most of those things just because when you think of a baby that you need everything and anything. But once you have one you know what you really need and what would've been a waste of money. Babies don't need all these "luxury" items. Loved the video thanks for sharing :)
She was either leaking..or sick on clothes and it's such a waste of money. Congratulations on the subscribers x
I regret buying so many clothes with so many snaps! Any momma to be reading this- buy sleepers with zippers!!
Holly 87 yessssss
These aren't really available in the UK though snaps are what is sold over here I've managed fine with my 3 kids 😊
i'm a 7 month pregnant with my first baby. THANK YOU!
I prefer snaps because you don't have to open their whole pajama to do a diaper change...
I wished someone had told me to not buy:
1- t-shirts (they never stay in place, they roll under the armpits and the baby stomach is always showing)
2- clothes that don't open on the front
And I the most important : always use clothes a little bit bigger, they are easier to dress and undress and more comfortable
i am 7 month pregnant with my first baby, thank you!
I actually loved tshirts.. easier to deal with, and I found my chunky son Winnie the poohing with his stomach out to be quite funny when his shirts were getting too small. Also, if you buy a size up, it doesn't really happen.
I have a love for fashion so matching closes was amazing and the layers heaven. So I put a onesie with every outfit.

ContainedFire I usually do this with my makeup remover wipes too
Good idea
I used to put them on my boobs for a couple of seconds. Had a winter baby
I put socks on my sons hands. They worked well, stayed on, and prevented him from scratching.
Leeshy they wrk great too
I do that too :)
Me too although I got weird looks from inlaws. Awh well it worked for us.
Yes, I always did that too! Better elastic.
Great idea. I will try too.

Norma Alcaraz same! It’s ridiculous how many clothes we received for my son. He wore each outfit once MAYBE twice from newborn to 6 months.
I didn’t want a baby shower at all but my husband talked me into it. I did put in the invitation what I wanted to stay away from and to please include bigger clothes if they wanted to gift clothes, I was soooo surprised at the baby shower when I got a lot of the things from my registry that were practical! We have a few mommy n baby second hand stores where I live. I have taken clothes there and basically traded them for what we did need. Clothes with tags are an extra plus!
Mandy Andree omg I agree that’s how I feel about the girl clothes, why are all the ruffles and huge bows necessary
Thankyou Emily, this was very helpful to me , I'm currently pregnant with my first baby and was feeling so overwhelmed with what I actually need to get apposed to what is in all the shops
*as opposed not apposed! I think you're mixing it up with 'supposed'. Easy mistake. Glad to help!
Trust me.
There is a minimalist baby check list video, if you haven't seen it.
My husband was listening as I watched this video and then he replied, “What do I regret buying? That brand of condoms.” 😂

Haha
😂🙈
Best comment ever 😂😂😂😂😂
Same here. Bought about every single accessorie available from Avent and then she decided she didn’t like it 🙊
SAME!!!!
I had so forgotten we did this too! Bought a whole range of bottles and he hated them! We had to go out and try multiple different ones before we got there!
Becky T how do you get free bottles to try them out? Idk what bottles to get!
My husband bought me a breastfeeding chair for my first mother’s day. It’s like a bed... love it.
This is all really informative thank you
What chair was it?
Hello? :)
What was it?
Yes! Exact same experience with the mesh feeders! Thankfully the silicone ones are much better now
Hey, just a suggestion..
A mirror would look beautiful above your couch!
I HONESTLY agree with EVERYTHING you mentioned!WOW!!you are 100% right!
Just me who hasn't got a baby nor plan on having one any time soon, but just watches because they love emily??
Georgia Henderson same
The nose sucker is the best! Soooo handy when they're stuffed up. And instead of the mesh teether, get the Boon silicone one. Easy to clean, easy for them to hold; it's perfect! Also, instead of the jolly jumper,.you need the jumper with the hard rim around the top.
I'm 14 with no baby and I definitely dont plan on having one yet but I've been watching these nonstop for like 2 weeks,I am a baby master rn😂.
you are so adorable!
Come babysit for my kid lol
@@majornija honestly...I would be down😂.
Amy Rall 😂😂😂
This is so helpful!!!
I am 6 months pregnant with my first child (a girl) and I am so thankful to have videos like this to help me from overbuying and over spending.
The mesh feeding bags come in a silicone type material 👍 they work well and are easier to clean xx
Jo An expecting my first one too and noticed the same 😄👌
Am due in a few weeks and am glad i watched all your videos before buying anything. Now am set
Washable breast pads work for me. My bra is tight enough that they don't move around. We have a mesh bag for delicates that I put them in so they don't get lost in the wash. I also use the bag for baby socks and scratch mittens.
Amber Simerly Ditto!
I used mine all the time
I totally agree with some of yours, especially the scratch mitts!
Very useful for first time moms, thank you!
I thought the fruit holder would be genius, but Rory just couldn't get to grips with it. He's much happier mashing fruit up in his hands haha!
Thanks Ponni I how to draw
I love my reusable nursing pads! I purchased those with leak-proof backing, like from Kindred Bravely and some cute patterns off etsy. I keep a small washable mesh bag that I hang off the side of my laundry hamper to keep them together and not lost in there wash.
I always find your videos so useful! I have a three month old baby and I followed your advice on the good latch and in fact I have been solely breastfeeding her since day one!!Thank you so much for sharing all your opinions with us xx Merry Christmas!
Teresa Peluso hi hw to latch ur baby my one month old doesn’t like he pushes me away.he got used to bottle more ...pls gv advice thanks
plaidninja1411 ruclips.net/video/f2xlxRO-Y_Q/видео.html I believe this is the video Teresa was referring to. There are also other helpful videos on RUclips, or discuss the issues you’re having with your doctor or a lactation consultant so they can help you.
plaidninja1411 hi! I would definitely reccomend seeing a doctor. Insist with breastfeeding as much as possible
For all of the small laundry items get a mesh wash bag, I’ve used that for my adult socks and undergarments it’s quite handy they can be washed in the bag and you don’t lose anything
The mash thing, now comes in silicone and works Fantastic👍🏼
Marthe Cecilie Olsen I have the one by Munchkin, it has one center little hole through which my baby managed to such a piece of fruit out. She choked and I never used it again, I think they are still dangerous.
I was gonna say the same thing! The silicone one's amazing.. the mesh one's rubbish! 👍🏼
Christina Kipou morrisons have one with small holes. My boy loved it. Especially when he was teething, I put a cold banana in.
I put ice cubes in the mesh bags. We live in a very warm climate and my girls really enjoyed them.
Instead of scratch mits, use baby socks🤷♀️, it gets the job done.
Thank you!
I’m 18 weeks pregnant with my 2nd ! I Love watching your videos your so positive and strong! Thanks for sharing your tips! Mwah 💋 😊 X x
More than anything, lists of products NOT to bother with is so so helpful! I hadn’t considered getting so of the items but that’s because I haven’t delved into all the products out there (still just 17 weeks) but after this I am sure of 99% of these items I will skip over! Thank you 🤗
I regret the tommee tippee nappy disposal bin I remember buying this when I was pregnant with Vinny and never used it! X great video Hun
Hehe!
For me it was the best thing ever! my son is allergic and the saline spray it wasnt enough.
Inconceivable saline spray is awesome but the nose Frieda is awesome too if you can deal with your baby crying.
I think this is the best baby related video I've ever watched! So honest and I totally agree with you. A regular towel will dry a baby just the same as a baby towel! We didn't get on with the mesh weaning things either
Thanks for this. I'm about to make a big purchase for baby stuff and you just helped me knock off like $100-200 😊
I love my baby’s mittens! I only have three pairs that fit my son well and all the rest are too big but those three that fit are LIFE SAVERS!
Starsofneon I said hell no to my husband on a wipe warmer!
Thank you so much for sharing that. I'm pregnant with my first and I was thinking of buying a wipe warmer because he's due soon, but this scenario never even crossed my mind.
Oh my gosh that is dreadful! Did you get compensated by the company?
Thank goodness I remembered I had it😀😀
Kimberley Allen this comment alone made me realize I'm so not ready for a child... I will stick to my dogs. 😂🖤
I used my nose Frieda so much until my daughter learned to blow her nose and I’ve also use it on my 3 day old
@@bellacapulet1933😂😂😂😂
I'm 5months pregnant, thank u so much! This video helped so much!
I think those mesh things are more for teething - iced breastmilk or iced fruit !
Jo Sutcliffe it was a life saver when my eldest was teething! Frozen mango was the best.
It is! That’s why I added it to my registry list. It’s a future reference thing.
I deathly regret buying the Sling with the metal thingies on!!i LOVE the baby wrap though which is the huge piece of fabric great quality wrap!!😍😍
I love my baby wrap! Who would have thought a giant piece of fabric could be so practical!4
What an awesome Mum community you have got here Emily!!! So happy to be a part of it. Happy Christmas everyone! xx
I sterilized when they were new bottles but not too often after. 🤷♀️
My son liked his baby Walker but not his jumper too much. It was so great for in out sunroom
Definitely regret the cot top changing table! My baby is 5 months old, who has time to cart him upstairs every time he needs his nappy changed!
Sometimes I feel I'm the only one who loves my changing table.
May I ask which baby bath you used? I'm pregnant and also have a few issues with having to bend over a tub so some tips would be great pleeeeease 🌸
@@kamenn988 i had a blue one from target, I think the brand was summer infant that absolutely saved my back. It fit down into the kitchen sink so he wasn't awkwardly high like the ones that go next to the sink and drain down.
I rarely used my changing table. But you gave me a new perspective on it. Will keep it in mind if I ever need a c-section or other surgery.
Another great solution is getting a dresser that’s at the right height for you and put the changing pad on top. This way you can use the dresser from when they’re babies up until they’re older and you save space in your room :). Unless you get a changing table as a hand-me down🤗
You can also set up your baby bath in the kitchen on the table or counter or if you have a big enough counter in your bathroom. This way you don’t have to bend down to wash baby or grab things :)
This is SO helpful! I'm 22 weeks today and I really don't want to keep things that I absolutely don't/won't need. Thank you!
"I've seen so many willies" 😂😂
I know exactly what you mean I also have three boys
I used the mesh bag thing all the time. We live in Australia and I put frozen fruit and ice poles in the hot hot summer. I loved it.
Mom2mom mumaroo....cost a fortune and my baby hated it. It was far to gentle at rocking. He wanted to be vigorously shaken haha!! Love your video as always x x
Oh God you're kidding me I brought one a few months ago and thought it would be a life saver
Lol 😂😂😂
I know a lot of people love them!! I’m forsure buying one
Megan N I used the wiper warmer and loved it. Worked great. Not a waste at all! I agree with the shoes. Had many. Wished I had none.
This was super helpful! I'm currently 36 weeks pregnant and had a few of these items on my list to buy but wasn't sure if they were really practical.. now I know!
My mother used the mesh bags with ice when my siblings started teething.
I agree with everything you said! Except the door bouncer thing, both my babies didn’t care about the jumperoo but loved the door bouncer, you’re right though you can’t walk away as they do swing towards the door frame
Great video! Can totally relate with the facts!!!! Well done Emily! Except the nasal aspirator, I found it very effective.
So did i
I LOVE our wipe warmer!
I just don’t like them 🤷🏻♀️
I keep a regular garbage can on the balcony for poopy diapers.
Aww that's so cute!!😍😍
Wipe warmer is one of the best things we use. We use reusable cloth wipes so they are needed to keep the coconut oil from freezing
I love your channel so much I’ve been watching you for a while.
Frazer you are so caring
Caleb your so cute
Jackson your just the best behaved boy I know
Emily your the best mom and your a inspiration
Mat your a great dad and really care for your boys
I'm expecting my first now and I realize I've made a few mistakes already...
Ashley Nelson same 😂🤦🏼♀️
Don't worry we all do it!!!
Me too😂
Afifa Kath not to
Worry we all do with our first
Sweetie, that is what a first born is for... - Me, A first born.
