15:16 I'm pretty sure the number of Elites that Spawn is determined by how many Marines are left alive. If you left Marines behind and went on without em, after a certain point the marines will drop dead, increasing the amount of elites that Spawn I think to 4 or 5. The same can happen in the Crow's Nest Misson. If not being able to save the marines in the barracks, Johnson's team will have more marines right after fighting the Brutes with the jetpacks. But since you saved 6 Marines from the barracks it was only Johnson and 2 other Marines
That would make sense. When I did a test run of this mission (just to count how many marines there would be) I’d get to the elites and there I think were 5 drop pods that came down. So when we got to the same part in this video I was like “uh where is everyone”.
@@Kamlanthius So Grateful that in the Halo 3 Flood Mission you can actually save the Marines and bring them all the way to the end. I tried doing something similar but in Halo CE "The Flood" and it didn't go so well. Most of the Marines Spawn with little to no health and they are basically there just to die. Or give you free ammo when they die
Yooooo! Thanks for the shout out my man! Just saw this video pop up in my feed! If you have any questions suggestions or need any help feel free to ask!
@@Kamlanthius I sent you a friend request on Xbox. Under the name The New Age Gun. If you want to collaborate in the future I'm down. Just a heads up you can save more Marines and elites on this level. :D
In Halo 2 and 3 the more Allies you have with you the less reinforcements you will get. That’s probably why only two elites spawned because usually there are 5 elites that drop. And another 4 elites if all 5 die.
Cant wait until you guys get to The Ark. Theres SO many marines and vehicles to save you can end up with a MASSIVE mobile army if you save them. Makes it feel like the games become an RTS
IMPORTANT UPDATE: Just want to let everyone know, I’ve been listening to your comments! A lot of you seem to still enjoy this kind of video over my other stuff. If I bring this back, it will likely look a little different. Shane is a busy guy, so getting him to spend a few hours recording these is not going to happen unfortunately. I’ve been meaning upload something, but I’ve sort of been reevaluating what I want this channel to be. Hopefully I’ll decide in the near future and I’m certainly open to ideas whether it’s in Halo or something else. The state of Halo Infinite has me worried about the longevity of Halo content available for me to make because obviously it’s not healthy for channel growth to continue making content in a game people don’t like. Not only that, but I of course want to make content on games I enjoy. Not that I don’t enjoy Halo. The plan going forward is to make higher quality content which takes me more time because I wouldn’t even call myself a novice editor haha. More time means less videos but I ultimately feel it’s better for the channel. Thank you all for the continued support! PS: A large amount of comments I receive are about marines I missed. It’s incredible how many I was unaware of while making these. I don’t know how people figure this stuff out haha. While I appreciate the tips, I just want to iterate that these videos are meant to be for fun and nothing more. I do, do some research before hand, but spending hours and hours figuring out every single marine that can theoretically be “saved” is unrealistic for me. I’m sure everyone is just being helpful, but I felt that I just needed to clarify this. Thanks again!
And yes I’m aware at the end of all these I say let us know which ones we missed. I just want to make sure people know the intention of these videos. Due to the amount of comments I get about it.
5:31 here, maybe you can throw a spike grenade, if that what’s it called (sorry I have not played any halo for a while), throw the grenade where the flood spawn or right where they fall off.
So I’ve been trying to get a read in this for awhile now, so I’ll just ask. Do you guys like having a face cam? My videos don’t seem to do any better with or without it, so I’m not sure if I should continue including it or not. Thoughts?
Most people don't care to see you just to speak the truth without being way too nice and a kiss ass about it. The truth is better than not because you gotta remember a lot of random people come across the channel and most people along vast genres of videos do not enjoy seeing a guy at the bottom of the screen. It doesn't add to it especially with these types of games and games in general. Reaction videos are different of course but this is merely for the gameplay and objective.
This is cool! This series is interesting, I always liked save the marines, but I always wondered if you could save them all (well, mostly). Some tips I notice on my tries that could be useful for you or for anyone that wants save as many as possible: 1) Some skulls can benefit your allies: Skulls like mythic (the one that doubles enemy health), catch or thunderstorm (last one with elites only) can sometimes be useful in the right mission (thunderstorm and catch are good ones in floodgate, because they don't impact the flood at all). And This is because the game apply the skulls mods to all entities in the game (besides the player, obviously). 2) The right weapon, for the right situation: Equipping marines can be difficult sometimes, but there are time in which they can wreck havoc with them. AR: Assault riffle is good when against enemy in groups with low healt (drones and infections forms), but battle rifles are better in most situations; never given them smg, neddlers or spikers (plasma riffles are always a good option too, they can melt shield against brutes). SR: Snipers are always good for them, but the Beam riffle is the best (Melting shields is the way to go), In Tsavo highway, I took the troophog and give them all Beam rifles, they destroy the enemy infantry front far away (don'tuse it against vehicles). Rokect launchers are excellent in open or semi-open spaces, use some constraints when around them, make sure you are never too close on the enemy or on their way. Never let them use it in close encounters. Shotguns may be good in some close encounters (and best use by them in flood missions), but evething else is better than this (although, I always keep one marine with it, just in case), never given them manglers (worse weapon for them). Fun fact: you can give gravity hammers to elite and the arbiter, but them don't know how to use it.
Golden "emu" is Moa, it is a thing for challenges, they are hidden in a bunch of missions and completing them gives progression. Theyre fun additions by 343
The center of the floods body, where the little popper is inside of, is like a head. One battle rifle shot should do even in legendary if the anniversary didn’t make it harder
I usualy wait till a an infection form latches on to one, then kill the rest and then kill the infection form, as with the first infection attempt it does an animation, the second infection attempt you cant do anything, so watch those marines in particular
5:20 It is impossible to save that one Marine in the back. no matter what you do he will always get infected but you can save those other two three if you were very lucky 18:00 whenever you drop down into the hole to get inside the ship those white elites that you see Dad are supposed to be those spec obsoletes but for some reason the game glitches and they're white with the wrong armor. It is possible to save them if you're fast enough and you throw down a deployable shield and stopping them from getting in but you have to be very lucky and very fast
There are two main ways people get infected by the Flood lore wise at least. First is the infection form and those are the little guys running around and Flood spores which is this tiny floating particles in the air when the Flood are in large quantities. You can see the spores by the green colored air and the marine in the back get infected by Flood spores so their is no way to save him.
Also it stands to reason coming into any direct physical contact with Flood biological matter is a biiiig nono as well, be it tainted flesh, getting slashed by a clawwhip or just getting a faint unnoticeable crop dust of spores across your skin, despite what the games portray the Flood have many, many ways of spreading their infection beyond their forms. There’s a reason the Forerunners lost to them and it’s not just because the Flood are hyper space ninja zombies and there’s a whole big bunch of em lmao.
@@bubbajoe117 Pretty sure that's cannon, one of the marines in the Mona Lisa movie gets slashed by a combat form and turns into a flood a minute or two later. So every marine who gets hit by the flood will canonically turn shortly after chief passes them by.
halo infinite is a good possbility. haven't played the campaign yet so we'll see what that's like if something like this is realistic. as for the others, maybe reach? the rest likely not. currently taking a little break right now. with the releases of infinite, endwalker, and the holidays around the corner, i wanted to take sometime to enjoy those before starting the editing grind again. so we'll see what the future holds!
Don't worry he can be saved. If you are playing by yourself it is very difficult. It is definitely easier having a partner. To save the two marines that get Auto infected you need to cancel that animation. Usually you can do this by making them fly with a nearby grenade.
@@WeaponsComplex I had no idea. I mod halo a little bit on my spare time, and i know that that marine has a script attached, so he is scripted to get infected. As far as i know, scripts dont get executed if the actor cannot execute them, ex. pathfinding fails, the script is skipped to the next step it can execute, usually just leading to the end of it (usually pelicans have the ai erase function being called so they dissapear if scripting fails) So perhaps, stunning the marine when the game attempts to play the flood infection script, cancels it out, but I just never thought it to be feasible. Its probably because of this i was able to save 3/4 of those guys on the ramp in solo, but i usually just settle for 2.
