the one thing about being a child from an immigrant family is exactly this moment right here. recognizing the sacrifices that your family has made for your future, and being stuck in between your dream and what your family deems as successful. more so, being successful enough in your dream to repay your family for all of their sacrifices. never feeling like you are good enough for cut out for anything, and fighting your way not only against society but yourself. There is so much i want to say about this topic but over all, I am so proud of Reynold.

I left the show when Reynolds left. I cried. You’re a winner Reynolds and a legend. I watch reruns over and over again of you cooking. I’m hypnotized the way you cook .
I’ve never cried in any Master Chef shows even the contestants cried except this one. I could feel his hardship & struggle throughout his life. There was something really deep about Reynold that moved me so much. His skillful dishes are memorable & that’s the success. I hope bright future will bloom after this amazing journey. It’s rare to see any chef who puts heart & soul to perfection in his cooking. I don’t think the judges are wise enough for not looking the whole package. We need more chefs like Reynold, the creator of foods. What if some people like the bitter taste of caramel to lessen the sweetness? Failing him on this factor isn’t fair.
I have never seen judges screaming the name and whistling for a contestant who is going home from the show, this is exceptional becoz he is unique in every dessert way😀..
They make these decisions objectively based on the dishes served. If that last dish was technically better than Reynold's, that was the right decision. I get what you mean though. Reynold is incredible and it's so heart breaking he didn't win. No one was happy about that.
@@jumanahidris7432 I'm not happy too, I mean just one small mistake and he's out.... what about the effort that he's put through on other dishes??? just seeing it not the right decision.
Well, they tasted the last dish, you didn't. So I'd go with the 4 professionally trained chefs who tasted the actual food to make a overarching conclusion, than you.
He will forever be a masterchef icon. He totally deserved to win and was the most skilled chef this season. The judges did him wrong and whilst I know he doesn't need this competition to be a star, he deserved it soooo much and he was so close that it hurts that much more.
WTF had happened? Reynold is specially gifted person, his skills can't be matched by any Pro chefs. He is an artist damn man that was very brutal to him, his devotion to the family and dedication to his profession is amazing. What a gem he is... respect to this guy...

I am an avid viewer of Masterchef Australia since season 1. Reynold is one of those whose name stands out especially when he got that perfect 30 points, when he partnered with Jessie to compete for the immunity pin against the pros. Like what Matt, George and Gary have said before Reynold IS the king of desserts and all three of them are unanimous in saying he is one of the best contestants the show has ever had. Returning to the show is just an icing on the cake if he won, but didn't. He has his bar going and he is a household name when in comes to modern desserts. He lost nothing here, but instead gained more fans and admiration of a lot of people.
I really hope so hi did. what one looses in such places is self esteem and self confidence. Someone should go there and tell him he doesn't need this recognition to be the best. These people just use him to make more money!
Judges: “We’re sorry Reynold, you will be going home.” Reynolds arrives home, checks his voice mail... “Hello Reynold, this is Gordon Ramsey, F-- Master chef, can you come work for me?”
Wow that actually makes sense out of all these cooking shows...on covid binges...I've seen a lot there is no one to match up to him. He was on fire out of the gate in the first episode ever. Of course they'd want him back. He's done shyt the judges admit not being able to do. His family should be proud of him.
He does not need a Masterchef title to make his family proud. As Asian, I can deliberately say that his family are damned proud of him. I hope I can travel to Austalia and go to his snack bar 😊
His family is proud of him. It just seems that he's implying the business isn't doing so well, and I think he's in the competition because he really needed that 250k. You would think that business would be booming if u are talented but that's not always the case. And covid must have been hard on his business too

The more I watch this, the more I keep thinking to myself, Reynold seriously deserve the title... Back when Gary, George and Matt were the judges till now, he’s been competing and a totally new chef... I just feel sad for him; he really deserves the title

Reynolds’s may not have won the competition but his creativity with food will be remembered forever. He finished in the top 3, he’s one of the best. That means something.
I'm just surprised that Reynold's not condescending towards these amateurs and even the pro chefs; his imagination and perfection are just other worldly
I can't imagine how devastated it would feel for him to lose on a desert dish. Every encouraging compliments about his obsession with perfection and his techniques must have stung so painfully. Everything seem all so ironically painful for him.
Honestly, I've never been more impressed by a dessert than the ones Reynold makes. He doesn't see he is leagues above these judges even. They get excited like kids to eat his stuff. What a legend.
I can sense all the pain and heartache that female judge was feeling for Reynold. Her facial expressions says it all... He's the real Winner for her and the World. Love you Reynold, you truly are a gem 💎 💟💟💟
She probably knows what it feels like. Our parents moved to foreign countries, worked hard... all for their children, to help them have stability in life. The children therefore want to repay the favour and give their parents an easy life. It's a relatable feeling.
reynold will have his own title soon. i can’t accept the fact that even how good he is, he still into “i wanna make my parents proud.” it’s very asian and with that said, he is already a winner for me. for all masterchef editions only reynold clear up my shallow dream to become chef someday. such an inspiration.
Being an Asian living in western countries is very hard even you can speak very good and fluent English, you need pay more and more effort than local people if you want to survive in western countries.

@@FatRogSlim the girls was not behind him? Reynold creates desserts she can only dream of. I wouldnt be feeling happy copying a dish for a grand finale.
This scene was absolutely shocking for me that he got 3rd place and the fact his dish was created in beauty and compassion with every talent and experience he has. He is beyond winning a masterchef competition. He deserves to sit in the judges chair. Im telling this isn’t because hes my favorite but with the the skills he has for deserts is already better than the top grand finale contestants
He’s the Chris Daughtry of Master Chef. Daughtry came in 4th place in American idol and yet he’s the most successful male singer to ever be on the show. Reynold is such an inspiration, to see the things he comes up with almost makes me emotional because I remember what it felt like when I first got into cooking. Creating and going out of the box just to see the reaction on peoples faces. That’s what it’s all about, making people happy and inspiring others. This guy is one of a kind
It sucks he lost, but im not worried. His mentality and skill will get him what he wants. Whether he gets scouted or he creates his dream from scratch, Reynold’s limit is not defined by some TV show. He can literally create magic like fantasy with his own two hands. There will definitely be billionaires drooling to try his dishes.
this masterchef season was already sometimes ago, dude. He already has his own restaurant now in australia, a dessert specialized one ofc, named koi with his older brothers
@@lushian2716 He actually returned to MasterChef this year as a competitor because he had some unfinished business with the competition. Unfortunately for him, lightning struck twice.
why is everything so emotional?.. they dont see his heart being so passion, everytime i am amazed and cried, how phenomenal and exceptional he is... You deserve more and better reynold ("the king of desserts")
Reynolds is perfect at making desserts, but that doesn't make him a perfect chef... Just because he didn't win, doesn't mean that they were intimidated by him... If his dish lags behind in taste, its not their fault...
They broke him. He took compliment after compliment from the judges and that made him more confident, the judges praised him and that made him think he was going to win. But then they come out of nowhere and throw him under the bus and that crushed him, that wasn’t fair especially after hearing about his problems with his family and that he really wanted this not for selfish reasons, he was passionate. They were intimidated and jealous and that shows
It's when judges allow emotion to cloud judgement, that it's no longer a competition about the food itself. This is why so many people hate on all the got talent shows, because anyone with a sob story always wins
he's good, no doubt. Dont fight me. But it is what it is. 2 other contestants cook better at this challenge and that doesnt mean judges cant praise him before
You can see how reynold is holding everything in up untill the last moments, he really tries his best to make sure that he is cheerful and trying to cheer up everyone around himself, not wanting to be a downer. He doesn't talk about his issues because it's easy, or to get any form of extra attention. He does it because he felt secure telling the judges, and because they asked and he wanted to give an honest awnser. Respect
This episode brings heartache to me. The title 'Reynold' will forever trumps masterchef title. He is a league of his own. Among ALL the masterchef franchise shows and contestants, his dishes and him are the most memorable. I remember all the contestants but do not recall the dish they created. That's how amazing his talent is. Forever... Reynold's moss, white noise, snitch... legendary
What makes this so painful is that he talked about no matter how hard his famliy has worked there was always something that knocked them down. Then he gets knocked out of the show for failing to replicate one dish... after all he did! They hate him because they can't beat him..
What were they supposed to do? His dish wasn't as good as the other two. Every single contestant was eliminated based on one dish. They can't change the rules of the competition just for him. I agree he should have won, but they did not eliminate him out of hate.
I don't believe they eliminate Reynold based on hate. The expression of the judge is shown enough that it's more than a heartbreaking decision to lose him in the finale. Although it's unfortunate for Reynold not being able to achieve the Master Chef title, his journey on the competition is already enough to inspire everyone. And I believe his career will be brighter than any other contestant. His creativity as a 'creator' for a dish, especially desserts is beyond imagination.
They eliminated him because he didn't trust the recipe that he was told to make. You obviously don't know anything about cooking, so don't pipe up about things you have no clue about.
@@critman4080 that was pretty aggressive bro. I'm allowed to have my own opinions and its not that hard to understand the rules. To replicate the dish simple as that don't really need to know about cooking. So I won't "pipe up".

seeing him breakdown for that small moment was one of the hardest moments to watch because it was so raw. anyone whos watched this season can literally feel his drive and hunger to win, and then have those dreams dashed after opening up and being so vulnerable. im not saying anyof this in a negative way, im just sharing how pure that moment felt. Watching the US MC, everything is overdramatised like a jerry springer show. but on MC Aus, it was just a raw and pure recording of his reaction. i broke down with him cuz you can feel that pain of disappointment in himself hes feeling.
I stopped watching Masterchef Australia season 12 since i've known reynold didn't win the title. I just hope reynold and his family all the best in life. Keep the faith and be strong all the time. Be the force that pushes your entire family to be optimistic in life. Good luck big man.
I can't...every time I see him cry, i start bawling too. So unfair...he put his heart and soul into everything he makes with so much passion. He should've won.
Look at how hard he is trying to smile. And when he couldn't, you could feel his frustration and he was tired. Not because of losing but because he couldn't be perfect. He couldn't do what he wanted. And that tears him apart. It's the second time he lose and it hurts.
Credit to him he went on to this show to help his family not just wanting the title he is absolutely amazing and him speaking about it shows how strong and awesome he is keep going man
As being a student.. I see him as my president in the class who's crying for not getting in honors despite the effort and hardwork.. that's really sad to think of
This is almost disgusting to watch. He was clearly the best chef on the series and they broke him down with non stop comments of confidence and approval only to let him go in the end. Despite his skill and the fact he will likely be snatched up by some wonderful chefs and kitchens I still think by winning the competition he would have gone so much further. Very sad.
What you're saying is ridiculous. It's "disgusting" to compliment him and not let him win? So you don't want any of the judges to compliment anyone unless they are the winner?

Yep a Michelin star.
A amazing man , a revolution .
the one thing about being a child from an immigrant family is exactly this moment right here. recognizing the sacrifices that your family has made for your future, and being stuck in between your dream and what your family deems as successful. more so, being successful enough in your dream to repay your family for all of their sacrifices. never feeling like you are good enough for cut out for anything, and fighting your way not only against society but yourself. There is so much i want to say about this topic but over all, I am so proud of Reynold.
This is beautifully put. I feel this to the extreme. Thank you.

Reynold was a winner for me, he created so much art for his dishes more than anyone else... i disagree on judges decision....

He is the true embodiment of a chef. He is not meant to plagiarize, he is meant to create.
He will forever be a masterchef icon. He totally deserved to win and was the most skilled chef this season. The judges did him wrong and whilst I know he doesn't need this competition to be a star, he deserved it soooo much and he was so close that it hurts that much more.
He is the Best chef ever. He is imazing.
Why would he not win the title? Who else is more worthy?
WTF had happened? Reynold is specially gifted person, his skills can't be matched by any Pro chefs. He is an artist damn man that was very brutal to him, his devotion to the family and dedication to his profession is amazing. What a gem he is... respect to this guy...
As someone who hasnt watched MC in a long long time.. I still know his name.. I dont even know the winners. He is the real deal

@@cseling9672 not in terms of taste sadly.
Yeah 😭

I really hope so hi did. what one looses in such places is self esteem and self confidence. Someone should go there and tell him he doesn't need this recognition to be the best. These people just use him to make more money!
Yup. You are right.

Reynolds arrives home, checks his voice mail... “Hello Reynold, this is Gordon Ramsey, F-- Master chef, can you come work for me?”

Pure humbleness. A breath of fresh air. He deserved it. An amazing cook and a top bloke. 👍
It sucks he lost, but im not worried. His mentality and skill will get him what he wants. Whether he gets scouted or he creates his dream from scratch, Reynold’s limit is not defined by some TV show. They were intimidated and jealous and that shows
Good judges don't get affected by their contestant's background. Impartiality demands it.
@@joechan1880 bitter non reynold fan 😂
Wasnt it just because he didn't follow the recipe?
It's when judges allow emotion to cloud judgement, that it's no longer a competition about the food itself. This is why so many people hate on all the got talent shows, because anyone with a sob story always wins
he's good, no doubt. Dont fight me. But it is what it is. 2 other contestants cook better at this challenge and that doesnt mean judges cant praise him before
