    Good Video man!!
Newton had a number of calibers!!! I was looking at the 35 Newton but as you have found brass and dies are the issue.
I then looked at the Browns. The Brown Whelen is impressive.

Yeah sounds I like I just need some 338 win mag brass that I need to track down. And some 30-338 win dies and I will be in business. Might have to trim the necks. Not sure yet. Thanks for watching as always! I love these old calibers and rifles.

It’s more or less 30-338. Like many customs/wildcats, each rifle can vary based on what reamer(s) were used. You can start with 30-338 dies with belted magnum cases and size to fit. 338 Win Mag or 7mm Rem Mag would work, just keep an eye on the case necks as you form them - turning or reaming may be desirable.

Just use 308 Norma dies and size 338Win brass down or use 308 Norma brass and trim to Newton length. Its a fairly straight forward process, and a very efficient and effective cartridge. Lots of guys used the 30-338 (30 B Newton) for 1,000 BR.

Nice find! I have heard of the round in my youth but it is long obsolete, undoubtedly based on a reformed .300 H&H case given it’s build era. Sadly my “go to” on such matters has passed so I can’t help you there…I am an old codger but not quite that old yet.

So I did some digging and P.O. Ackley says it is the same as the .30-338. Apparently Western Cartridge Company made brass and ammo for it prior to WW2. Of course the .338 Win. Mag. was a postwar development as was the wildcat .30-338. I have one myself and the Sierra manual has data for it. Hopefully this helps!
