Everyone already knew this was going to happen. I forget what the split difference is in the two, but if a company is offering 95-5 here, and the other 50-50 there, and people are still going to the 50-50, thats a telltale sign that youre sinking.
Plus, how can you really be a competitor if you are paying for the services of the very system that your rival owns? Twitch, no matter what, was never going to go down because Kick is paying for the IVS AWS that is owned by Amazon and runs Twitch, on top of aping their UI designs. Its impossible for Twitch to go down when their competitors are paying them for their services. You can only hope to do just as good and thats it. And even if one day Twitch did go down because you were that good of a rival...then what? You go down too. Like Amazon is really going to try to keep the competition that killed off its own service alive.
Then theres the fact that Kick managed to speedrun every controversy, and then some, that Twitch had built up over years, in just weeks. And how if Microsoft tried to make a competitor and failed with their billions (granted, they arent the best at supporting and holding onto things they do), what hope do you really have as a startup thats, again, using the services of your competitor.

Aws and twitch are both subsidiaries run by Amazon but they arent connected. A lot of businesses use aws. If Amazon refused business with companies that took a chunk of profit from its subsidiaries, then aws wouldn't be the top dog. They'd go to azure or google.
If FS1 took out ESPN, Disney wouldn't opt out if it's joint sports ventures with Fox on broadcasting international futbol. Business does not run on feelings.
