I am glad you clear that up for everyone. Most of these second wave black metal dudes aren't anywhere as militant or flamboyant (or ridiculous) as they used to be.
He's definitly never been a satanist, but he was an active member of the inner circle when he was young. Well, he's always been a musical genius, he's 30+ years old now, he's an adult now =)
He's not. He himself denied it: "Am I a satanist? No..."He said he was a satanist in an interview when he was 18. I used to say I was a satanist as a teenager:D... Young people do that. What's more notable is what kind of fantastic compositions he made back then. And when you take a music talent, add some years of practice and experience, what do you get? A pure music genius, with, or without the "power of Satan" ;)
On Metal: A Headbanger's Journey he said that he wasn't a satanist, and that he never actually was. I guess he was just kidding or something on that MTV-interview, but I don't know.
@Dungarth I noticed this watching his old interviews, some people probably won't like it but sod it, he's obviously matured as an artist his work across his career is fantastic.
Shit the second album's pronounced Angel?
Capital L :P
thanks for this bro

@rodhoces2 Satan shouldn't matter to anyone
What? Satan came from a genre of music? Which one was it; Polish dance music?
He has an album called Adversary. And Satanists can't be artists? And Satan does matter in the genre of music which he came from.

After isn't really black metal. Just progressive metal.
Ihsahn is an artist, not a satanist. In art, Satan doesn't matter too much now... do you?
