An ingame track from Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues released by Ocean Software. This piece played during most of the jungle sections of the game.
To this day, over 20 years later, this tune still sticks in my memory. My brother and I spent countless hours playing this game, if for nothing else than to listen to the amazing soundtrack. The music is really what sealed the deal for me. Thank you for the great memories, Dean.
Me and my cousin did the same back in the golden ages. I know what you mean. Funny how we're all the same around the world, because I'm from Brazil. Separated by ages maybe, countries, but we have the same notion how awesome it was.
@@roetemeteor try using a sample ripper do that tho? or maybe using emulators that let you change sound interpolation options so you hear it in its uncompressed form?
Jurassic Park turned paleontologists in to action heroes. I'm loving the soundtrack. Thank you for uploading. I want to play the game again but I know I'll die embarassingly even on easy lol
The key to them was to use your lethal options when you couldn't one shot them with the LTL-Charge rifle. That could one shot the green ones, and make it where you could gun down the brown ones with one charge shot and 12 shots from the machine pistol.
hey. i just want to say thank you and the lot of you for bringing this musical score together. this score in particular was a part of my childhood. i remember going thru the jungles just humming the tune as i played it with my cousins growing up. we plan on sometime in the future getting together a snes and just reliving the times when we were kids. still thank you and the people who created this score and the rest of the music for this game.
Great game... but FAR too hard! I have played (and completed) hundreds of SNES games over the past 25 years... Jurassic Park II: The Chaos Continues is the one of the VERY few games I've never been able to beat no matter how many times I try (and I refuse to cheat!). GREAT game otherwise but way too unforgiving. And I just realized this account belongs to the game's composer! Well done - definitely one of my favourite SNES scores! Whatever technology was used for these tracks REALLY pushed the SNES to its limits - awesome work! :)
lol i remember playing with my bro on this stage. all we did was running and shooting at every direction. the humans are even more frustrating then the stupid raptors and shit . i looked at my brother face and said : hey do you remember in the Jurassic park movie , when Dr Grant grabs his Assault rifle and start running and shooting at the random bad guys and those damn giants Mosquitoes? BECAUSE I SURE FUCKING DON'T. >_
I've always loved this piece. Also, Waterworld. There are so many good SNES/Amiga tunes out there that are either European in origin or belong to licensed games that just end up being forgotten. Jurassic Park 1/2, Lost World (mega drive), Maui Mallard, Waterworld, Plok...
It wasn't until near the end of high school or just after it that my brother showed me that ROMS were a thing. I was introduced to so many SNES games I never knew were a thing which included this game. I played the original SNES overhead game that had you as Grant collecting eggs. Rented it a lot, got lost a lot, never beat it, bought it for some reason and still never beat it. Imagine my surprise to learn there was an actual sequel with entirely different gameplay. This song always stuck with me, playing the ROM on my PC with headphones and realizing what I missed out on. I miss those better times...
Wasn't nearly as memorable as the first JP game for the SNES but it did have some great moments and oh yeah the music still plays in my head to this day. My childhood will never be forgotten :D Cant wait for Jurassic World either!
Wow... this autoplayed for me after listening to Michael Giacchino's Lost World OST, and having not looked up from my drawing, I thought that this was some Shinobi track that I hadn't picked up on. I really love how it becomes funky towards the end, and those ghostly chords from 1:27 are just beautiful!
Oh man I played the hell out of this game. The last couple missions were certainly tough but if you grew up playing original NES games it was just par for the course. All the tracks are good too not just this one. I was so impressed by the digitized speech in the intro.lol
The theme is very memorable, I used to play this game with my friend Scott. I was like 9 or 10 I think. The two player mode was fun, the graphics were better than what I was seeing on my sega genesis. Interesting to hear from the guy who made the theme.
Awwwwww yeah! The entire soundtrack to this game absolutely rocked my world back in the day. It still does, to be honest, otherwise I wouldn't be sitting here listening to it still. A friend on another site said earlier tonight that someone had uploaded all of these tracks, I just had to come and find out if he was just giving me a hard time. Jungle music > power station music > volcano music > J.S. Bach > all other music. Well, maybe not that bad, but you get the idea.
the snes had one amazing sound chip. Even today most of the snes music still holds up so well. More memorable than most modern game music because it didnt try to be a real life orchestrated track it was more stylized and unique.
I has this stuck in my head, and looked up nes Jurassic park game ost, then genesis ost, then mega cd ost... and about had a stroke thinking my reality has changed.. thank god I found this, or my sanity would be gone.
Good lord this is arguably one of the best tracks from ANY JP game. I say it's on par with Flyby from JPOG. Dean, this track is so amazing, I praise your talent.
A masterpiece, given what you had to work with and also in a way true to its time with the tribal house music scene. Blew my 11 year old mind when I first heard it.
Mr. Evans I like to say that I am huge fan the soundtrack you composed for this game. I remember when I was little that I would play the level for this song so many times that my parents would shut the console off or until I got bored and just completed the level lol. But still thank you for your amazing work on this games soundtrack! :D Edited: I also like to say that the song syncs up well with the running animations of the game lol.
This song, along with the rest of the soundtrack, is so good that I put it in SS tier (God tier) for my rankings of the best SNES soundtracks of All Time. This puts it in the same tier as games like Jurassic Park, Super Metroid, Star Fox and Star Fox 2. As for the game itself, I only played it via someone else’s copy once but I had a blast. I am also very pleased to know that it also served as a big inspiration for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Jurassic World Dominion. As for the first Jurassic Park game for SNES, I can easily overlook the lack of a password system because the game itself is addictive like pineapples in every way and I have a very hard time pausing to take a break every sixty-five minutes. Also, the soundtrack rules. I really, really hope to see a port of both titles on Nintendo Switch (plus other systems and PC) and even a remake of both too someday.
Dean Evans!!! All the stuff you did for Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues was simply fantastic. Is there any way I can get my copy to you to be signed? Either way you are great, much love!
I think this is the longest track in the entire game. If you want to be technical, the track doesn't actually loop until about 9:19, as after around 4:55, the drumbeat is continous, which is where the looped section starts.
Awesome track, hard as balls gameplay, had virtually nothing to do with the source material, except for the dinosaurs. Man, this brings back memories of when Jurassic Park was the shit.
I live in a city that is too hot and with humidity like a jungle, in fact that kind of envirionment of dark jungle is nearly to the City, is freaking fearsome
Huh, this sounds familiar. I wonder if it reminds me on a different game or if I unknowingly listened to this in a different playlist a while ago. Anyways, I love how it sounds!
One of my favorite tracks in the game! Definitely A LOT BETTER than that garbage hard Genesis game and only 1 player! :( This version of the game, the Super Nintendo version, Nintendo always ROCKS! :D This song also reminded me of the temple and forest levels in Donkey Kong Country as well! :D
I remember my friend down the street used to play this. We never got past the first level though and instead shut of the snes and played WWF royal rumble anyways lol!
Totally agree, the game was far too difficult. I recall that only one of them could actually play the game through to completion (and that wasn't on hard mode either).
Dean Evans Yeah, the thing was that he got this game for his birthday when he wanted the first Jurassic Park game for the Snes which was far superior but his parents goofed and got him this instead. Like you said, Dean, it was far too difficult. We couldn't get past the first level.
I don't mean to be rude here, but I've played both Jurassic Park games for the SNES and I have to say the first one is greatly inferior to this one. Kristofer Kurtis The only reason why I dislike this game is because it was trying to be contra which it wasn't, and yet contra got the 2dshooter down with perfection almost 10 years earlier.
That's fair. I think I liked this game because it was a jankier, more unforgiving Contra-like with great music. And the lethal vs nonlethal weapons was a nice idea, albeit poorly executed.
To this day, over 20 years later, this tune still sticks in my memory. My brother and I spent countless hours playing this game, if for nothing else than to listen to the amazing soundtrack. The music is really what sealed the deal for me. Thank you for the great memories, Dean.

The sound chip was indeed quite powerful, and the fact it holds up to this day says something
I'm really hoping someone finds these samples and decompresses them.
@@roetemeteor try using a sample ripper do that tho? or maybe using emulators that let you change sound interpolation options so you hear it in its uncompressed form?
