Perhaps someone can help me with this video. This exercise must only be about timing the pass and catch. The QB throws and the receiver is standing in the wide open area with absolutely NO defense. But in real world there are defenders coming hard. So, what’s the point, unless the oass/catch is timed? Hummm…
A lot of times against zone defenses, if the QB keeps his eyes downfield for a few seconds the defender assigned to play the flat might drift back more leaving that check down wide open. So surprisingly those throws are open sometimes. I imagine that drill is just to work on timing of when to dump it to your check down after going through your primary reads
