  • On The Grid today we look back at a weekend full of tension at Barcelona but not a lot of racing along with the F2, F3 and F1 Academy news.
Plus, an awful lot of racing as the Indycars pounded round the dramatic Laguna Seca Raceway
Rain delays for both IMSA sportscars and the NASCAR boys who, wait for it, for the first time, raced on an oval with wet tyres!
And we come home for a lovely weekend in the sunshine as the Touring Cars entertain at Oulton where the bodywork controversy rolls on …
    But first the news.
The F1 seat saga rolls on as Alpine now emerge as a third choice for Sainz.
While Sauber academy man Theo Pourchaire goes through more heartbreak and the Japanese Superformula becomes an all-Japanese affair.

that was the best part this weekend, Lando is the only Brit critical at himself, he knows 99% is not enough to beat Max.

At Castle Combe years ago was a Vince Woodman who successfully raced there. Any relation?

yea they are not Max these talents, is that again going to take you two 10 years to realize what Max did in 2015 races as COTA 17 years old? or Brazil 2016 18 years old compared with Lando 21 years old at Sochi ‘21? does it take you another 10 years to accept that Max is the best this sport has ever seen ? took me only 2 years when Senna destroyed my hero but as Motorsport fan you accept the new reality, the British have a hard time dealing with that, what you think ? Another 10 years to accept Max is the best this sport has ever seen ?
Newey is name dropped regularly, why not ask him what he thinks of Max and if he is any good, take his word for it not mine

Tons of people still don’t consider Hamilton among the greats and you out here saying max is greatest ever. That’s why. Winning at a young age doesn’t make someone best ever, that argument doesn’t work.

@@vikashchandra9917 Some people recognize a true talent when they see them. Like Niki Lauda did when he called Max the 'Talent of the Century'.
But you're right to say that it takes some more time to say a driver is the 'Greatest of all times'.
I would say that Hamilton, Max Verstappen, Vettel, Senna, Niki Lauda, Jim Clark and Fangio are among the Greatest of All Times.
But it is very difficult to claim one of them is the GOAT.
Max Verstappen is the first to acknowledge that, saying that it is impossible to compare drivers from different ages, in different cars and under very different circumstances!

@@vikashchandra9917 Correct, statistics only tell a small part of the story in F1 or any other motorsport, motorsprot basics lesson 1.
Ask Lewis why Senna with “only” 3 WDC’s is his idol and not Prost for example.
Spoiler: His idol is Senna for the same reason Max is the goat to proper motorsport fans now, it’s all about on track action, epic races and overtakes and I can’t help Lewis his fans can’t handle Max being the true successor of Senna, even a cleaner and way more consistent version of Senna.
But you can have your own hero, no worry, we are not TeamLH, we are not going to force you

@@yerrie1908 You were doing well till you had to write “proper motorsport” fans. Those who are not Max fans are not proper fans then? You are not now but the original post is trying to force, friendly language not withstanding. If anyone doesn’t consider Max the goat then they are not proper motorsport fans, got it.

@@vikashchandra991795% are not motorsport fans, they are F1 bromance circus fans who think F1 is a British woke DRS slot race championship, motorsport is a somewhat controlled road rage, they have no idea what this bad ass sport is about.
F1 fan alone says enough, thats Like saying you are a Champions League fan and you don’t watch any other football, all fine but nobody takes them serious and I don’t take F1 fans serious and I can assure you neither does Max, Lewis cares about them for sure, he is in it for the fame, Max hates that part, Max signed up for Bernies bad ass F1 and not for Liberty’s F1 Bromance circus
