As a cinema alternative, Immersive Environments seem to be the most compelling application at this time. However, the fact that RUclips, Netflix, and others are holding out gives one pause 🧐
@@suninmoon4601 I would say openly Netflix and Amazon didn’t really get their Meta apps right and now the Netflix app is no longer available and Prime is very cartoonish. Neither did offline very well either, Netflix didn’t offer it and Primes was buggy and didn’t sometimes work without a network connection which defeats the point of offline. I would like to think that when they are ready to enter AVP as a native app they will really need to make the experience vastly better as Disney and Apple TV have set a standard. I don’t think they are holding back because the product & platform isn’t good, they are just focusing resources in more popular areas right now but it won’t be long before they show up to the party.
You can use the websites for those but realistically, the Quest is better to watch movies on. You can either use Bigscreen for a more social cinema depiction or just play a video in the photorealistic home environment
Experiences will be a major thing on AVP! Just wait for real time space experiences from rovers on mars, the moon, space station, etc! So many tech heads are sleeping on these devices and have gone back to doing speed test on smart phones like it’s 2010!

I hope there will be more experiences from Disney+ like Bob mentioned at WWDC, (being able to interact with characters and talk to them, like for example, being able to talk and interact with Mickey because he’s ran by large language model that can take your speech and make the character react to what you say and even just that would make people want it, especially if you included a ton of different characters and maybe even specific Disney+ shows made for Vision Pro that put the viewer in the world of the show and allow them to make choices etc……) I also understand that the stuff he mentioned at WWDC was simply a vision (no pun intended lol) and not a promise to make stuff like that, but I really hope they do and I hope that they don’t just stop at environments, as cool as they are.
@@boredmango2962 I totally agree, i genuinely hope they really invest in experiences on Vision Pro and show other like Netflix, Prime and more that they can do incredible things to enhance currently entertainment and really show what immersive media potential is.

how do you find screen flare / glare when using any of the environments in dark or night mode? I struggle really badly with glare with movies when a bright light is in scene and the emersive is a dark environment.
@@streamingdarren2679 have you tried adjusting the brightness of Vision Pro within the main settings. That’s definitely helped, I felt it was set too bright so I knocked it down. I still have glare in dark spaces with bright things playing but it’s not so eye wateringly blinding.
I have the same issue, and its not a deal breaker but it can be a little annoying at times, even so the AVP is still the best headset on the market by far
@@Symbiotix_Gamer couldn’t agree more. Glare is an inherent problem with bright panels and lenses and I don’t know how they will ever mitigate it in the future.
But how does it compare to Quest 3? I get that the oled is way better for the inky blacks but JUSt how much better is it for viewing media like this?? Is it worth the entry price?
@@phillipbashford6215 I have owned the Quest, Quest 2, still own Quest Pro and Quest 3. Meta have just missed the mark on this and I users have basically been left with a Prime app that looks very childish and a Netflix App that has now been discontinued. Neither worked well for downloading offline for travel and functioned well. To be honest, when I was on a flight with Quest, I had to download content (in various ways) to entertain myself and use players like Skybox VR as there is minimal access to on device content. The Meta hardware is good, the OS needs some barriers removing and they are doing some of that with technically taking the best of Apples VisionOS UI. For the money Metas is hands down the more cost effective proposition, but for a proper experience with plenty of content on offer via Apple TV, Disney+ and Paramount AVP is in another league genuinely. You have access to almost all of it and in the right and proper way. Apples headset isn’t really in competition with Quest, it’s way more powerful for many tasks. Quest is cheap when it should be more expensive, but if it was expensive much like the Quest Pro, Meta doesn’t have the customer base in hardware and lacks in software integration to get people to buy like Apple does.
If I watch this in a space open enough to equate in size, can I walk around the marvel lab or the monsters inc scare floor for example? Or the sands of tatooine?
@@JeanBaptisteDesJardins currently no, there are limits to the space you can walk before the environment dips in opacity and your real world surroundings are visible
@@geoffherron925 it may not have auto updated the app, you’ll need to update your Disney+ app manually first. Go to the App Store, find it and see if it shows update from there. Then when you go into the app, and you should see the fifth environment to download.
I unsubbed after the disaster that was Acolyte but their vision os sucked me right back in and subbed just to watch all the 3d and old classics in my Vision Pro!
M-Mr. Stark I-I Can explain it. Some people at future find apple vision pro, and they are playing with time. They are using our tower for watching movie. (Marvel could use this scenario :)
It's all very gimmicky isn't it?. I really don't see what these environments have to offer over anything else that is currently out there. Perhaps if they had some of the characters from these films interacting with you then great.. sitting watching a film and one of the monsters inc sits beside you and looks at you when you look down at him... but as they stand, its just a 360 image which can easily be created.

I wondering if you have because they aren’t 360 images at all, these are fully rendered environments, if Disney and apple allowed, you could very easily walk around them. Currently they don’t. But they have full stereo depth and are clearly built out in some engine like an Unreal or Unity. These environments are there as apple puts it, to take you away from your surroundings, Disney’s obviously aren’t as versatile as Apples ones. You ca’t edit in them or do much more than watch Disney content. But still I’m very impressed with the quality of them, attaching Disney owned IP to them is great and I want to see more, I prefer being in these environments to watch a movie or tv show on a plane, than the tray table in front of me and remember the tight squeeze on board that flight.

The 3D environments will always be better than the 2d versions. Like you say, they include depth and environmental lighting. For me, until they include the ability to walk around the environment, interact with characters from the movies/theme you're currently in (this is the big sell for me) then I find it to be just an environment like all the others. Happy that you're enjoying them though. I do like the Netflix movie environment on the Quest. Works really well!

Before I used only netflix, I didn‘t knew disney+. Now I‘m using disney+ and I don’t miss netflix a second.
