Jimin's surprise Black Swan 4-minute dance solo (and Filter performance) at their "Map of the Soul: ONE" concert established his position as best and most versatile dancer in the industry today.
I really appreciate your reaction to the Black Swan choreography. For me, this choreography is one of BTS’s most powerful and meaningful ones. They might have other dances that are more difficult. But, for me, the choreography for this song perfectly portrays the emotion, mood and story of the lyrics.
I really agree with the army who said "this is not like watching a reaction vid, it is like taking a bts lesson" so true! Wish I loved any class like this back then😂 I will patiently wait for the day you share your insights on mma2018😉
BTS are so artistic, every, *EVERY* Black Swan performance is so well-thought-out and sticks to the imagery the art film, the official choreo, the MMA perf, Jimin's solo in the MV and Jimin's solo perf they are all different but at the same time cohesive
found smth interesting in your words "there's something very powerful in the control they show in the end" because the first word i think about when i watch the end part of the choreo is _fragile_ so it's like they are powerful because they are one with their fragile selves
And this is my 2nd favorite choreography after blood sweat and tears. I love how you catch details, I have gotten spoiled with your reactions. If I watch other reactors I get upset when they don't notice the little things that make these so interesting and special.
I do love your BTS reactions of course, but I watch your others too, because face it, we all like YOU too now. You just grew on us, not like a fungus though. More like a lovely flower. Anyway. Thank you again. Purple you.
I appreciate that!! Maybe I am a fungus - I've been told I can be a fun guy! (I'm so sorry for that joke). Thank you so much for being here and for the support.
I love your input from a dramatic artist’s perspective. Your insight offers me a fresh pair of eyes on BTS’s work. Watching BTS perform, even in practice, the intensity of their passion for what they do is evident. Their striving for the perfection of their art & craft just radiates from everything they do. Your analysis shows how that perfection is attempted and that nothing is done without a purpose. Also, I like you & your sincerity. Like BTS’s passion, that can’t be faked. 💜
I think the concept, lyricism and everything about Black Swan was quite unique in the Kpop world yet there really wasn’t much recognition towards the song. COVID sure didn’t help but still...
Fun fact around this time when they released black swan they were picking artists all around the world and giving them a platform to display their art to people in museums and since they had a big following they used that to their advantage so the artists had a large audience because a lot of Army showed up there. I thought it was pretty cool that BTS showed their support for other artists in a different branch of the artistic world.
I'll never forget how I lost my breath when they revealed the choreo on Corden. Every dingle time they perform Black Swan, I feel very sad it seems over so quickly! I agree with everything you've said. It is a surreal experience, being so attuned to their every message through movement, sound, expression, etc.
They performed BLACK SWAN many times, at the late night show with James Corden, also on Jimmy Fallon, in their comeback shows too, and many more... Please check those out...
The fact that they did it SO perfectly on that tiny stage at The Late Late Show (James Corden) - and I think it was the premiere of Black Swan right? Just amazes me. One of my absolute favorite BTS performances.
@@MM-et2jr Yes, that small stage performance was BEAUTIFUL. And kudos for whoever designed the beautiful set created by light and projected images. So lovely!
I absolutely love your commentaries here and in other videos. Yours are a lot better than professional dancers' reactions coz i understand better the connection between the dance n d song. I love bts's dance because every movement is meaningful.
When you start the universe, I think it's important to ask for no spoilers! There are many enthusiastic ARMYs who want to give you the whole picture so that you understand everything from the beginning. However, I think it is more enjoyable to experience it in the same way that the early fans did, step by confusing step. Just my opinion, but I believe you will enjoy the process more if people will let you figure things out on your own.
My instinct told me to press like even before I read the title😎 Btw, as for dance practices 1.MAMA2020 ON 2. MMA2019 Dionysus 3. MAMA2019 Fake love 4. Not Today are SPECTACULAR, performance wise. You can just watch them without making a reaction vids🙏🏻 And especially for Dionysus I'd love to hear your opinions and thoughts since the lyrics have many references and metaphors from Greek myths!
Yesssss I really want him to see mama ON practice video, it was so much better than the actual performance!! You can clearly see all the incredible twists from the original performance only in the practice ver😢
Seriously, how many times can I clap my hands and say 'YES' to my computer screen while watching your videos 😂 I love that what you're saying and pointing out is sort of basic, forgive me, but you're so ON POINT and so knowledgable and it's a joy to watch someone notice that intentionality behind all the movements and images, and not just go 'oh they're good dancers'. Like. Yes. this is a true statement, but maybe delve a bit deeper lol. I think you'll love the BLACK SWAN performance on Jimmy Fallon *hint* foggy intellectualism = ambiguity. Maybe? BLACK SWAN lends itself great to many interpretations, maybe that's what you're going for. It's a testament to their craft and ability to portray all the layers, that you feeel this foggy, unmoored headspace, yet there are very distinct clear images. BTS does usually have many layers to whatever song/concept is being portrayed (you're gonna flip at the BTS universe oh boy), but I feel like Black Swan in particular is so dense with layers, feelings and meaning. It seems like an intensely personal song to them as individuals, but also their collective identity as a group. lol thank you for coming to my TEDTALK
I doubt I would ever get tired of that song and the dance, it feels different every time no matter if this is a practice or a staged performance. But I also like to watch the reactions to it, and yours are one of my favoured, thank you, Cedric:-)
Such a great reaction/review of this beautiful performance. One of my favorite things about BTS is that you can watch their videos over and over and focus on something different each time and it's like a whole new experience! Now I have more to go back and look at based on your suggestions. Thanks! 💜
Black Swan got me into BTS. It was my first time seeing them and I totally agree about seeing new things every time you watch the same performance. The thing I remember about this dance is poor Suga. He said this was the hardest choreo on his shoulder, nevermind the knees which I'm sure is tough too. I'm so glad he got his shoulder fixed so he doesn't have to deal with that in the future.
I know what you mean by the fog thing. Every time I watch a Black Swan choreo or performance I feel like there's fog and distorted imagery around me but they're the only clear ones. I'm drawn into the performance, like sucked in, and all you can do is watch them, you can't draw your eyes away. That may sound weird but it's so mesmerizing.🤪 Thank you for another wonderful reaction because now there are things I will definitely be looking for. Have a wonderful day, stay safe. 💜 🙂
10:35 I know exactly what you're talking about but now that you said "foggy intellectualism" that's all that comes to mind when i try to think of another word
I remember watching something where a ballet dancer mentioned, even if some other group performs and sings the same song they wouldn't be able to do it like BTS. They can't covey the emotion BTS conveys with their dance.
Hey‼️Black Swan is truly a magnificent song and the way BTS dances the choreography is truly artistic and mesmerizing. They know how to express the meaning of the lyrics. Its sad but also beautiful. I haven't been watching your channel for very long, but I truly love your reactions and how you interpret the videos. Keep up the good work and stay safe! We purple you! ☮💜
For reals. They are amazing performers! Add to it how they make every performance difference in some way. They add layers to layers and it’s just so so enjoyable

I agree with everything you said! This whole era of black swan is a masterpiece. Btw for MV reactions BTS have a like a film where they acted it's called 'Highlight Reel' and it's connected to their storyline and love yourself era the acting in there is amazing! Hope you react 🤍
You'll often see them wearing name bibs during rehearsals to make it easier for crew/camera people to identify them. Of course everyone recognizes them individually, but then they start dancing and it all becomes a blur. Learning the Korean alphabet helped me recognize their names, and now it's easier for me to identify them in various footage. (Then I pat myself on the back and brag about how fluent I am)
Great reaction. JMO the music video in the theater should be reserved until the Live James Cordon, the Art Film, and the Dance practice have been viewed. The artistry, creativity and the heartwrenching lyrics elevate this to masterpiece. Every artist will come to this point, but as Proust said "the real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes." This is how BTS continues to innovate. Thanks and stay well
I always appreciate your video and your explanations of BTS artistic take on music/choreography /mv.. it’s very informative and that’s how I hope people that don’t know BTS would just listen or watch their performance with open mind and open hearts. I always look forward for your thoughts on BTS. Like yoongi always say, you did well today too. Oh suggestion, there is a video for ON, a short documentary that I think you’d love. You don’t have to react to it if you don’t want to, I honestly think you’d enjoy it 😃
I really love your take on choreo and performance! It's so cool we get so much personal insight/details and experience on how much of a mental exercise and storytelling dancing is. Like I think generally ppl know and associate dance with story telling, but for a non-dancer it can feel really abstract to associate it. But you have so many interesting details on actual execution of how they turn dance to story and what that entails when they're practicing/performing.
just a reminder that there're two more great videos for Black Swan first is Jimin's solo shooting for the MV from the official channel > ruclips.net/video/xMfp2jcK52M/видео.html second is Jimin's solo perf on the ON:E concert. no link, but i have it saved, so contact if you need it :)

@@CedricGegel1 just a fyi : the first one in tokyo was a surprise gift from jk to jimin (the trip and video making) for his birthday it was back in 2017 , so jimin had no idea, this is just the way they are when they are together 💜 It was a surprise for all of us 💜 a good one 💜 Also, people in japan did recognize them, they didnt wanna bother them they are the the most respectful people 🥰 Jungkook is self-taught, he just wanna capture every beautiful moment in his brothers life, and i feel lucky i can see them through his eyes 💜
And while you're at this kind of stuff, I think you will love their choreography to "Spring Day". They also have a dance practice video and the choreography is very intense and emotional. I like your reactions by the way! Really enjoyed all your insights, I'm learning. As what Jimin would say, "you good, keep going" :)
Who doesn't know about dancing thinks this is an easy choreo but actually is really difficult and so well executed... To me, is one of the best, and my favorite one 💜 Ps: Cedric, when the song finished and you said "MAAAN" i would personally cut that short clip as a sample and use it in the future 😂😂 like: something cool happens -> "MAAAN" 😂😂
I'm not sure what you meant at the end about foggy intellectualism (?), but what came to my mind about that was intuitive meaning--which to me is a communication beyond words; something that has meaning and value, that you might not even be able to put into words.
I really like how you react their videos, especially this video. You are pointing things that we don’t normally see when BTS dance. I love this song and I enjoyed how you give your commentary :). Pls react more of BTS songs because it make us happy as a fan that you also come to understand why we love them.
They performed "Black Swan", and more, on their week on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon ". It was stunning. All the performances were great. My fav is still "Home". I couldn't take my eyes off of Jungkook in this dance practice! He dances with so much power but still precise and technical 🔥 he's such an amazing dancer !
I thought you gonna react to music video cuz you are a filmmaker lol. but love your reaction checking out the choreography as well. Their live performance for black swan is amazing!
Hey! love your reactions, been watching since the beginning (even though I don't comment a lot) and It has been great to see you slowly turning into an Army 💜. It would be amazing if you reacted to one of their first songs and videos, I particularly like "No more dream", their debut song, it's one of my favorites and it allows you to see the big journey they have made to become what they are now.
Was excited then realized it was premieres in 2hrs 😭 Hope to catch before I sleep ** the passionate way you describe their performance, gives whole new level of appreciation.
Hello Cedric! I started subscribing to your channel recently and watched all your bts content. I am guilty of "passing and ignoring" your channel weeks ago because there are a ton of YT channels reacting to BTS since covid that are so un-sincere and you can tell they're in it just for the views and just give the usual boring feedback from them and sound fake or forced. I totally understand getting into this YT reaction biz at this time. So far, I've only found 3 channels that are new and sincere and yours was the 3rd one. I'm more drawn to reactors that only do BTS - obviously coz Im ARMY here ;) Your channel is definitely diff and very informative and I just love your natural enthusiasm towards the boys. Can't wait for your journey with more of their discography. I'm like you - after watching this video - my reaction was "oh, is that the last one??" (I remember you being sad that the NPR was over after 3 songs lol) So, I am def turning on that notification bell for the next one!! By the one, one of the funny things is when you said "I want to be like them when I grow up." I just want to see them already at their concerts! I have 5 tix from 2020 and holding on to them like gold, because it is hard ass torture trying to get these concert tix! If they go on tour in 2022 (I still doubt they can do it this year) I hope they add more venues because I'm sure they gained a hell of a lot more fans during this pandemic!!
Dearest Cedric, My daughter played this GEM of a BTS song for me the other day: 134340🙌💓 from the Love Yourself:TEAR album and Im asking you to listen and react to it, as you are such a genuine music lover(dance and acting too) 😉 and love how you REALLY listen and enjoy diving into how the music&dancing makes you feel, which is what its all about 🤗Thankyou
Very fair question! I grew up dancing and performed with a professional dance company in my last year of college and for a bit after. As far as music goes, I grew up singing and was in band, so I was around music a lot, but I certainly have a lot to learn still!
Not sure if this was what you were going for, but this song sort of makes you think, introspection. About what matters in our life and what are we willing to do to achieve it. How will our response be when things get tough?
@@CedricGegel1 now we are all curious!:D I have to admit that I have a problem choosing a bias ( not only in BTS) and it changed over time a lot, after hearing Abyss by Jin (I hope you come across this one in your future rabbithole exploring:D) his position as my temporary bias has solidified :D I was very surprised, because he isn`t the first one catching my eye in performances, but his voice has an emotional level, that get`s me (and I would say I`m not really emotional most of the time:D)...but I will see what the future holds:) wow that was a long message, sorry:D Don`t feel pressured to tell us your bias, but I`m still curious:D Have a lot of fun with your jump into more BTS (and with the break from it too!)...now the only thing left to say is the standard " Sorry I`m german and I hope my english wasn`t too bad and you could understand everything"-message at the end:D

Every artist will come to this point, but as Proust said "the real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes." This is how BTS continues to innovate. Thanks and stay well
And btw i really like your reactions
I hope we can see more of your reactions
Purple u
Love your reactions Cedric, you are so knowledgeable and appreciate the intricacies of BTS' performance!
Reminder set.. Need more 10 minutes

.
I'll stay... 😎🤓
Thank you, I always eager to see your new content
I always appreciate your video and your explanations of BTS artistic take on music/choreography /mv.. it’s very informative and that’s how I hope people that don’t know BTS would just listen or watch their performance with open mind and open hearts. I always look forward for your thoughts on BTS. Like yoongi always say, you did well today too. Oh suggestion, there is a video for ON, a short documentary that I think you’d love. You don’t have to react to it if you don’t want to, I honestly think you’d enjoy it 😃
A masterpice!💜
I really love your take on choreo and performance! It's so cool we get so much personal insight/details and experience on how much of a mental exercise and storytelling dancing is. Like I think generally ppl know and associate dance with story telling, but for a non-dancer it can feel really abstract to associate it. But you have so many interesting details on actual execution of how they turn dance to story and what that entails when they're practicing/performing.
Can’t wait! 😁😁😁
just a reminder that there're two more great videos for Black Swan
first is Jimin's solo shooting for the MV from the official channel > ruclips.net/video/xMfp2jcK52M/видео.html
second is Jimin's solo perf on the ON:E concert. no link, but i have it saved, so contact if you need it :)
Jimin's solo performance for the concert was amazing! definitely worth the watch. I was blown away with their black swan performance on the concert :)
Unfortunately COVID took the thunder of this song, the entire album matter of fact. Map of the Soul: 7. Black Swan is the Queen.
Seven kings 💜💜💜🔥
Favorite RUclipsr strikes again with another good video! Keep going💜
I like the hair cut my guy, looks fresh
I love your reaction to BTS..
Really hope you get to the wings shortcuts. I know you're gonna loooove them!!!
Would you react to GCF (golden closet films) its videos filmed and edited by jungkook for the members, there is several in BANGTAN TV
and thank u i looove your reactions
Oh yesss it will be beautiful
Yeah that would'l be great to hear your take on his filmaking
Definitely! That will come after the universe but I’m SUPER excited to check those out!
@@CedricGegel1 just a fyi : the first one in tokyo was a surprise gift from jk to jimin (the trip and video making) for his birthday it was back in 2017 , so jimin had no idea, this is just the way they are when they are together 💜
It was a surprise for all of us 💜 a good one 💜
Also, people in japan did recognize them, they didnt wanna bother them they are the the most respectful people 🥰
Jungkook is self-taught, he just wanna capture every beautiful moment in his brothers life, and i feel lucky i can see them through his eyes 💜
Yup, another Army recruited!
We purple you too Cedric!!
YOU HAVE TO WATCH THE MUSIC VIDEO OFFICIAL CEDRIC 😍😍😍
Who doesn't know about dancing thinks this is an easy choreo but actually is really difficult and so well executed... To me, is one of the best, and my favorite one 💜
Ps: Cedric, when the song finished and you said "MAAAN" i would personally cut that short clip as a sample and use it in the future 😂😂 like: something cool happens -> "MAAAN" 😂😂
Thank you for the wonderful reaction ^^ take care & stay safe.
I'm not sure what you meant at the end about foggy intellectualism (?), but what came to my mind about that was intuitive meaning--which to me is a communication beyond words; something that has meaning and value, that you might not even be able to put into words.
love your reaction...
I really like how you react their videos, especially this video. You are pointing things that we don’t normally see when BTS dance. I love this song and I enjoyed how you give your commentary :). Pls react more of BTS songs because it make us happy as a fan that you also come to understand why we love them.
bring it on lets see you have to show us. thanks
I hope you could watch their marionette dance for Fake Love..It was so beautiful too.
yes, BTS is anazing! i could nwvwr get enough of them! BTS is the best! there's nothing like BTS!
BTS has mentioned that BLACK SWAN has the most difficult dance moves of all
They performed "Black Swan", and more, on their week on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
". It was stunning. All the performances were great. My fav is still "Home".
BTS: Black Swan - ruclips.net/video/g1-sFn-j5D0/видео.html
There's a 'Playlist of all the times they were on the show. If you want to watch them in order just know that the list is reverse order. The first of that week was 'BTS, Jimmy Fallon and The Roots Sing Dynamite" ruclips.net/video/y5g-PTeDkwY/видео.html
I couldn't take my eyes off of Jungkook in this dance practice! He dances with so much power but still precise and technical 🔥 he's such an amazing dancer !
Jimin is very good in martial arts too.😊💜
I thought you gonna react to music video cuz you are a filmmaker lol. but love your reaction checking out the choreography as well. Their live performance for black swan is amazing!
Have you seen the dance practice for DNA? The footwork is so fast and intricate, would love to get your analysis!
Its okay take your time💜.( but i was looking forward to the behind the scene of the NOT TODAY mv😔)
Hey! love your reactions, been watching since the beginning (even though I don't comment a lot) and It has been great to see you slowly turning into an Army 💜. It would be amazing if you reacted to one of their first songs and videos, I particularly like "No more dream", their debut song, it's one of my favorites and it allows you to see the big journey they have made to become what they are now.
Was excited then realized it was premieres in 2hrs 😭
Hope to catch before I sleep
** the passionate way you describe their performance, gives whole new level of appreciation.
You should do a dance cover video for one of their songs. That would be great 😂
Hello Cedric!
By the one, one of the funny things is when you said "I want to be like them when I grow up."
I just want to see them already at their concerts!
Dearest Cedric,
My daughter played this GEM of a BTS song for me the other day: 134340🙌💓 from the Love Yourself:TEAR album and Im asking you to listen and react to it, as you are such a genuine music lover(dance and acting too) 😉 and love how you REALLY listen and enjoy diving into how the music&dancing makes you feel, which is what its all about 🤗Thankyou
I love the way that your eyes always shine brighter after watching any video of BTS.
Mines too ;)
As a actor and filmmaker , how do you know so much about dance & music? Honestly I’m curious lol.
Very fair question! I grew up dancing and performed with a professional dance company in my last year of college and for a bit after. As far as music goes, I grew up singing and was in band, so I was around music a lot, but I certainly have a lot to learn still!
@@CedricGegel1 Wow that’s amazing , you’re awesome !!!!😭❤️
@@keannajanae4546 well thank you!!
I love the MV black swan were jimin and kookie start out in white
A bts break for me is to make a coffee ready to watch the next footage 😂😂😂😂
Ikr😂😂
07:58 they were putting the hood on
Not sure if this was what you were going for, but this song sort of makes you think, introspection. About what matters in our life and what are we willing to do to achieve it. How will our response be when things get tough?
waiting patiently 😁.....who’s your bias???? jungkook is my ultimate bias but i’m always and forever ot7💜
I have one... perhaps I will admit who it is one day ;)
@@CedricGegel1 now we are all curious!:D I have to admit that I have a problem choosing a bias ( not only in BTS) and it changed over time a lot, after hearing Abyss by Jin (I hope you come across this one in your future rabbithole exploring:D) his position as my temporary bias has solidified :D I was very surprised, because he isn`t the first one catching my eye in performances, but his voice has an emotional level, that get`s me (and I would say I`m not really emotional most of the time:D)...but I will see what the future holds:) wow that was a long message, sorry:D Don`t feel pressured to tell us your bias, but I`m still curious:D Have a lot of fun with your jump into more BTS (and with the break from it too!)...now the only thing left to say is the standard " Sorry I`m german and I hope my english wasn`t too bad and you could understand everything"-message at the end:D
I'm OT7 with wreckers every darn video.
Well we can guess that it's Jimin as he gets all the guys 😅.... not my bias btw
Please react to Black Swan Jimmy Fallon BTS week version
💜Thank you.🙏
Teal and orange (gold and all other varieties of it) are EVERYWHERE, even British tv series. So many green (including teal) doors, walls, drapes, shelves, cabinets in homes, hospitals, nunneries, clothing. How long before I stop noticing??????? 😜
Bad news: That will never go away. The only hope you have now is to start noticing other color grades as well 😂
