JazakAllahu Khairan Sheikh Dr Yasir Qadhi I watched this series in 2016 BEFORE I became a Muslim on June 21,2016. Now after 8 years, I am watching these videos again in November 2024 Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhi from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Alhamdulillah! back again 2022 actually I listen to it almost every week. more I listen more I learn Alhamdulillah. jazakallahu khyiran Sheykh! love you for the sake of Allah. allahum'ma Salliala nabiyyena Muhammad ﷺ ❤️
Episode 9 Notes: Marriage to Khadijah RA Khadijah RA had been married twice before she married the Prophet SAW. She had sons from the first marriage and none from the second marriage. So this is why, she inherited her husband’s wealth and became very rich. The Prophet SAW when he was 23, was praised by Khadijah’s sister for his nobility and this is why Khadijah trusted Prophet SAW enough to go and do business for her in Bosra. Khadijah RA expressed an interest in the Prophet SAW for marriage and Khadijah’s uncle was her Wali and he performed the Nikkah. The Prophet SAW was 25 and Khadijah RA was 28 when they got married. Khadijah had one child from her first marriage and she had 6 with Prophet SAW: - Qasim: First son, born before Wahi began and lived till 6 and then died - Abdullah: Second son: born after Wahi began. Died in infancy. - Zainab: Lived till maturity and then passed. Prophet SAW buried her. - Ruqayyah: Lived till maturity and then passed. Prophet SAW buried her. - Umm Kulthum: Lived till maturity and then passed. Prophet SAW buried her. - Fatimah: Only lived a few months after Prophet SAW and then passed away. None of the wives of Prophet SAW became pregnant other than Khadijah. Jibreel AS only entered the house of Khadijah and no other wife. Aisha RA never met Khadijah RA. Aisha RA was never jealous of any women other than Khadijah RA because she knew how much Prophet SAW loved her and once she confronted SAW about this and SAW said “Allah SWT never blessed me with better than Khadijah”. After this she never mentioned Khadijah RA again. After Khadijah RA passed away, the Prophet SAW did not smile for months. The Prophet SAW only married his other wives, after Khadijah RA passed away. The Re-Building of the Kabah When the Prophet SAW was 35, a fire and a flood partially destroyed the Kabah and they had to rebuild it. The Qurashi tribes were grouped and each given a wall. But, arguments broke out on who will have the honour of placing the black stone. So, they decided the next person who walks into to the Haram will do it and that was Prophet SAW. Who told them to grab a sheet and all the tribe chieftains will help place the stone, into the Kabah simultaneously. Makkah was the first place set aside for the worship of Allah SWT. The Qurashi changed 4 things when they rebuilt the Kabah due to material, political and financial reasons. But these changes remained, permanent to this day: 1. The original Kabah was rectangular 2. The Kabah was doubled in its height 3. The Kabah’s door was raised, so that it requires a ladder. 4. They built a water spout to prevent the roof from caving in again due to floods. The Prophet SAW when he conquered Makkah, told Aisha RA that he would have returned the Kabah to its original form. But, because the Makkan’s were new Muslims, he didn’t wish to cause problems for them. Fun Trivia fact: In the time of the early Umayyad’s, Abd’Allah Ibn Zubair, broke away from the Umayyad Caliphate. He created his own mini Caliphate by taking over the Kabah. He found the above Hadith ^ and destroyed the Kabah and rebuilt it in accordance to the Hadith. But, he was later killed by Hajjaj ibn Yusuf, who destroyed the Kabah in the process. So, when he rebuilt he Kabah, he rebuilt it the same way the Quraysh did. And since then until now, the Kabah has remained that way. It wasn’t changed back to what the hadith stated, because of the wisdom of Imam Malik who did not want the Kabah to become a tool abused by evil Caliphs. Fun Trivia fact: The Prophet SAW was 59 when Ibrahim was born from his maid servant. He lived for 18 months and in a Hadith SAW stated, “Had Ibrahim lived, he would have been a prophet”. But SAW was the final, so Ibrahim had to pass away. Fun Trivia fact: You cannot send Salam or Jzakallah upon Allah SWT. Fun Trivia fact: Surah Kawthar was revealed to comfort the Prophet SAW, after the passing of Abdullah, when Abu Jahal was celebrating his son’s death. Fun Trivia fact: There is a river in Jannah called Al Kawthar. Fun Trivia fact: In 1947 the Kabah was flooded and the people swam for Tawaf Fun Trivial fact: Fatimah RA laughed with happiness, when Prophet SAW told her, that she should would be the first of his family, to pass away after him. ========================================================== Disclaimer for my Notes of Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam Series: Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, these are my notes on Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah series. Please note: I HIGHLY recommend that you all watch YQ’s Seerah series, as I DON’T cover every single detail the Sheikh mentions. I made these notes primarily for myself but, decided my fellow brothers and sisters may benefit from them too. I no doubt will have made mistakes in my notes. All the good in these notes is from Allah SWT and all the mistakes are from myself. But, I was very meticulous and tried my best to make sure everything is accurate as the Sheikh mentions it. You also will see I have added “Fun Trivia facts” under each of my notes. These FTFs are information YQ said that was off topic or not necessary to include in my notes for the episode. But, they were still worth mentioning hence the inclusion as FTFs. FTFs aren’t always HAPPY pieces of information. Sometimes they are very sad trivia. I just want to say that FTF is the phrase I used for them all collectively when making the notes. One thing I wanted to do but am too lazy to do is, maybe someone could take the FTFs from under each “Episode” and make an Islamic reminder/information IG/TikTok account and post them daily or something. Could be a great form of Sadaqah Jaariyah. Please keep me in your Duas and ask Allah SWT to forgive all our sins during this blessed month and beyond! Ameen
How come I’m here now after all these 12years when it was here, so ashamed of me! Alhamdulillah, finally I’m listening to Seerah now. JazakAllahu Khairan to brother Yasir Qadri and team to make these series of Seerah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

The lecture delves into the final stories about the life of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) before he received his revelation and became a prophet. It emphasizes that there are few reports detailing his early life. However, two notable incidents are discussed in depth: his marriage to Khadijah ( RA) and his significant role in the rebuilding of the Kaaba. These stories highlight his virtues and character before prophethood. Initially, Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) was employed as a shepherd by Khadijah's sister due to the Prophet’s humble and honest lifestyle. This employment led to Muhammad (peace be upon him) building an honorable reputation. Khadijah ( RA( herself, after inheriting wealth from her second husband, managed various business ventures and was quite influential in the trade practices of the time. She chose Muhammad (peace be upon him) to lead an expedition to Syria, owing to his renowned honesty and integrity. This journey laid the foundation for their future relationship, as Khadijah ( RA( was deeply impressed by Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) noble character. Consequently, she initiated the marriage proposal, a significant step reflecting the equality and mutual respect within their relationship during the Jahiliyyah period. Another significant incident from this period is the rebuilding of the Kaaba, which took place when Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was 35 years old. The sacred structure had suffered damage from a fire and a flood. In response, the Quraysh tribes cooperated to reconstruct the Kaaba using materials salvaged from a Roman shipwreck near Jeddah. This task was not only physically demanding but also posed potential conflicts among the tribes. A significant dispute arose over the honor of placing the Black Stone, a revered object, back onto the Kaaba. Muhammad (peace be upon him) peacefully and wisely resolved this dispute by suggesting a solution that involved all tribes, enhancing his status and respect within the community for his mediation skills.
Assalamuwalaikum Dr., I am very sorry to inform you that this video has been cut off early. In the next part (10) you start from where you left off; which is the talk about Hazre Aswad. But this video ends abruptly and there is no mention of the breaking of Hazre Aswad; how, when, by whom, in what circumstances it was broken and what is the story of how the stone was put back by the Abbasids, is not mentioned. There clearly is a break in continuity. Please provide the information. Thank you.
Jawid Khair I find the noise kinda funny the only reason the mic gets so loud is because the only he wold get quiet is because it’s to answer a question and we also need to hear that question and plus if you talk for an hour straight then obviously you might need some water
Agree! if he drinks away from mic or during answer & question session then that would be awesome. We all need water, but most speakers could continue without water for an hour or maybe a sip away from mic. Overall, he is great Mashallah.
I think it was to shed some light on the wisdom behind why he could not have a son that lived, because obviously the son of the best prophet in the world would also be a prophet, and that is impossible since Muhammad (SAW) is the last prophet of Allah (SWT). So because of that and other reasons known best to Allah (SWT), he (SAW) did not have any sons as successors. Wallahu Alam
Beautiful lectures Shaikh....thank you. I have been wanting to hear the Seerah series but finally, I am doing it now and upto the 9th episode. While listening to the 9th episode, two points came to my mind, I would like to address with all do respect: 1) wasn't Khadija belonged to a Jewish family? If its true, then why have not you mentioned? 2) Another beautiful point worth mentioning is that, from the beginning since Khadija developed feelings for the prophet PBUH, she treated the Nabi as a equal partner - starting with the caravan to Bosra and making him the equal partner in business and not treating the prophet any less. thanks
Assalamu alaykum… i knw its the wrong episode but i have a question did prphet (pba) saw the line on his chest before prophethood?? If he did did he ask anyone abt that line or did he knw that it was done by Gabriel (aw)…
I have a question about one of the stories that was mentioned. You mentioned Fatimah (RA) had something whispered into her ear by the prophet (Saw) twice, and that later on or "many, many months later" Aisha (RA) asked Fatimah (RA) what was whispered, with Fatimah answering the question ect. However you also said that Fatimah died "only a few months after the death of the prophet (saw)", my question is how did she tell Aisha (RA) many many months later what the prophet (saw) said to her but died only a few months later?, wouldnt she have already passed away? was saying "many many months later" just a problem of wording ?. Jazakallahu khayran.
Ofcourse Fathima passed away 6 months(probably) after the death of the prophet SAWS. But she told the story to Aisha before that. Yes, Sheikh used wording like that.
Am I the only one who is seeing these videos continuously without stopping , I love these so much, subhanallah :)

JazakAllah brother
It make sense now that Khadija was 28, because they had six children. Women in her 40s can not have six children
agree :)
Why not
+rainbow cloud There not fertile anymore
rainbow cloud Bearing children is pretty hard at that age and Women that age are very close to menopause.
Truth is accepted as it is told
Assalamu alaikkum Jazakallah khair Sheikh

Assalamuwalaikum Dr., I am very sorry to inform you that this video has been cut off early. In the next part (10) you start from where you left off; which is the talk about Hazre Aswad.
But this video ends abruptly and there is no mention of the breaking of Hazre Aswad; how, when, by whom, in what circumstances it was broken and what is the story of how the stone was put back by the Abbasids, is not mentioned.
There clearly is a break in continuity. Please provide the information.

2) Another beautiful point worth mentioning is that, from the beginning since Khadija developed feelings for the prophet PBUH, she treated the Nabi as a equal partner - starting with the caravan to Bosra and making him the equal partner in business and not treating the prophet any less.
thanks
Khadija R.A was a Quraishi
8.27 she was a Quraishi
Assalamu alaykum… i knw its the wrong episode but i have a question did prphet (pba) saw the line on his chest before prophethood?? If he did did he ask anyone abt that line or did he knw that it was done by Gabriel (aw)…
Whoaaa!!! The ending is frustrating!!!
Yes I know! And the next lecture starts off at the different day rather than continuing where the video cuts off :(
I wonder what the end of the lecture and the slides were...
I was looking for this comment
Ofcourse Fathima passed away 6 months(probably) after the death of the prophet SAWS.
But she told the story to Aisha before that.
Yes, Sheikh used wording like that.
No disrespect (astaghfirullah) but was it free mixing when the prophet pbuh spoke with the woman about Khadija's marriage proposal?
Yes, hijab rules would come after 30 years from that time
