So fun fact! Tanjiro was holding his breath and not blinking for the entirety of his fight once the blood tears started. If you look closely at his sword right before his sister begged him to breathe, the flames were going out. This was signifying that his life force was almost completely drained (since that was what he was using instead of breathing) and that he was mere seconds away from dying 😮

Not mistranslation, it's purposefully vague and can be read in Japanese as fire or sun. May assume it's fire until it delves deeper and revealed to be sun.

"Hi" can means "sun", "fire", "light" or even "day" it depends on how you write it and not how you hear it, that's why there's no vague there, the only vague is just between "hi no kokyu" and "hinokami kagura" are they both the same or not? That's the vague. The author have always been writing it with "sun" And that's why mostly manga translator always gets it right because they translating it by reading it while the anime translator is by hearing it..
