The great old days with fern Briton and fred dinenage I'm really going to miss 😢 fred dinenage I've enjoyed fred dinenage for the last 21 years when I first started watching more often I even heard itv meridian theme music lots of times and the meridian headlines 24 years ago have to say I hope one day they bring back TVS Coast to Coast or at least bring back the theme music so catchy love it 😀

An object lesson in how to do regional television news properly. Coast to Coast was an excellent programme. The South East edition was the most popular regional news programme by audience share in the country.
Sadly, three decades on, the current offering from ITV Meridian is a pale imitation. The imitable Fred Dineage; he must be the oldest newsreader in UK broadcasting. It really will be the end of an era when he finally retires. Fern Britton was great too.
