You make a good point. This is why i stopped listening to grime and stopped liking it nearly a decade ago. There's no distinction in grime like there is in hiphop and rap. Someone can be good at grime and still not be taken seriously because of who they are, maybe they're perceived as being a nerd or a dork, but on the flipside, someone can be mediocre or even completely garbage, yet they are rated because they're perceived as being hard or whatever, it makes no sense. There ain't the same appreciation for lyricism or styles like there used to be, it's a whole creativity-murdering garbage mentality that's been pushed and it's killing whole genres, this is why drill and trap is a thing. Drill and trap guys are saying the same thing that mc's was saying 2 decades ago, they are just saying it in a very less creative and impressive way lol.
