Thanks for posting these videos. I bought the album on Bandcamp the other day and have been so impressed with not only the musicianship but the excellent sound of the recording. Such a great and unexpected treat to be able to see how you achieved that.
You're welcome, and thanks for supporting the band by buying the CD online. We plan to document as much of the recording process as we can in the future as well,.
Great stuff! (Both the music and the recording.) Nice to show you don't need thousand of pounds' worth of gear to do decent recordings, and can concentrate on making great music rather than wrestling with the complications/distractions of digital recording technology (wonderful though that can be if applied wisely). It's a while since I've seen a reel-to-reel in action! (Though have done a fair bit of recording on them myself, including bouncing tracks between two recorders - one stereo, one mono! - not to mention ye olde 4-track cassette portastudios.) Analog rules, yeah! Amusing paradox that you're showing us your analog audio recording via a digital video recording, uploaded and broadcast round the world by interweb thingy magic. :-) I'm liking the foot operated tube, too.

food tuba and guitar at the same time . mind bogglling
I listen to this great recording on a regular basis... And wondering, who made that cello banjo? Looks like 14 inches (or more?)...
I love Ewan’s quotes from Bunk Johnson! Respect.
Great to see the sound being produced with the mic in shot. I find it really interesting doing recordings with minimal amount of mic's.
Well done. The attention to the sound balance certainly pays off.
wow thats incredible way to go with the foot powered tuba!
Saw you guys play in Dove Holes the other month, absolutely amazing. Bought the Blue Album and enjoying that. Hopefully see you back in Dove soon!
Ryan Baer, so happy to have found you!

Отлично сыграно!)
Bravo +++ !
Mega! 👌
Great! Love the guy playing tuba and guitar and is that Ewan Bleach on reeds?
Oui , et Ryan Baer à l’arrière au banjo
Yes, Ewan Bleach on reeds, and the banjo player at the very back is Ryan Baer.
@@lioneldarde1851 You're everywhere! Definitely Kilroy. What good taste you have, messieur.

@@lioneldarde1851 Yes. Don't know how that 'messieur' got in there. Simple careless typing.
Reminds of the brilliant Charleston Chasers
And all captured on an old reel to reel tape recording machine....... !! It shoulda been a cylinder.... !!
