With elbows he would be superior to any fighter. The problem is his weight, only spong is a match, I cant think of another fighter better than nathan. I'm Aussie & I Respect the Dutch so many of the great Muay Thai/Kicboxers come from there. Hoost, Aerts, Kaman, Dekkers, Souwer, Schilt, The Reem + Many More. But Nathan "Carnage" Corbett is a beast and he should have won this fight, he battled back from the 2nd round knockdown, and finished the fight in devastating fashion, the ref should have done his job and waved the fight off properly. Either way Carnage's main weapon is his elbows and Spong refused to fight him under full Muay Thai Rules
the ref did the right thing! When he was down, the ref counted him 9, checked him out, and when he stepped forward the ref saw that he was still not fully conscious and waved off the fight... stepping back so all could see him, the other fighter just saw the ref backing up and stepped in to fight... no one was at fault! Everyone did their job well!
Good points. I do think Spong would win if they faced each other again, elbows or not. He's the more crisp technician, and his boxing has improved greatly.

Fight I've been looking forward to seeing. Nothing too fancy, and they seemed well matched. Admittedly I'm a Corbett fan but I think Tyrone is an awesome fighter. Tyrone got the best of Nathan at first for sure.

@thehumanfly I did use handraps, but then again, I don't hit with the same force as these guys. Petrosyan also broke his hand and underwent surgery. I guess when you hit full force and land it awckwardly, hit an elbow or something, you can break it. But all in all, its bound to be a build up of things. Maybe little by little his hand got injured and a small rip / crack started and this time it just broke further. A fighter should get himself looked at after every fight, just in case I think.

The second round he was landing better and was coming forward, don't confuse that with landing scoring shots, and then he caught Corbett, giving him the round, but dominating. Ha, he was "dominating" the third round too if you judge simply by the fact he was coming forward. And Corbett didn't land a lucky punch, he hit him with a classic 1-2.

Corbett got somewhat lucky that his corner told him to switch to southpaw. If you've seen any of corbetts fights, you would've noticed that he was getting overwhelmed by tyrone...which almost never happens

When the referee is bad there is always confusion, doubt, misunderstanding and it change the normal cruise of the fight. First of all, Corbett should get 8 count after he get the knee on the face.
