    Hi Matt, I've recently been organizing my oldest hard drives onto a NAS and ran across an itunes folder full of video podcasts from 2006 that I used to watch on the first generation of ipod that had video. Photoshop TV and Photoshop Killer Tips, were among them. All in glorious 320x240 12fps! Probably some of the first tips I learned about editing back then. Glad to see you're still at it.

    Great video Matt and Adobe adding more tools for us. I wish I had this last summer Midjourney v 4 only did 1:1 so i spent too many hours laboring with PS-CC to fill in for std print sizes. I got great results but it was painstaking work now its a few clicks or better MDJ has more format options and zoom out finally, thanks for the e books

    I took a typical studio portrait of a couple on my popup white background. Based on the color of their clothing i thought it would be better with a mottled/colored background and it worked well for that.

    I’m interested to know what resolutions you we’re working at with your examples? I tried in beta to generative fill a wider crop on a gfx100 file. Bad result because the fill area was so low resolution, so I wrote off this function as useless for my needs. Have you lowered the resolution of these images? If not how big are they and did the fill seem like the right resolution? I’ll of course try it again to verify but was just interested in what your thoughts are in this. I was under the impression that Adobe trained it’s AI on lower res images and so cannot work well on higher res files. Am I mistaken? Thanks 😊

    • @MattKloskowski
      @MattKloskowski  9 месяцев назад

      Hi. Not really sure
      There is a resolution limit of around 2000 pixels
      Most photos will do fine with it depending on the level of detail of what you add. A blurry background would look fine because it’s blurry. Best advice is to try it out.

  • @kenparnell7074

    I heard rumens that in October depending on what level of photoshop you are purchasing each month, to use generative file will cost credits to use, if you use all your credits up before months end you would have to purchase some more.

      I believe Adobe has stated that if you use up your monthly allowance of 'priority' credits, you can continue to use GenAI except that the time it takes to generate your content may take longer. As noted, you can purchase another 100 'priority' credits for $4.99.

    Great tutorial and tips.
    A skeptic would observe the early release of the update coincides with jacking up the subscription fees. Purely coincidence, I’m sure.
    On a more sobering note, it’s truly unfortunate that with AI, photographs no longer represents the truth. I’m not talking about artistic expression but the real world of news, events, crime and evidence. No photo can be looked at as an accurate depiction of a scene, person or persons ………….. or lack thereof.

    • @MattKloskowski
      @MattKloskowski  9 месяцев назад +1

      It sounds like you're pretty skeptical so who knows. No reason to speculate - it is what it is and luckily my subscription of LR and PS didn't go up. Though the prices don't increase until Nov 1, so I'm not sure how releasing it in Sept vs Oct would be different.
      As for AI, what you wrote couldn't be further from the truth. There's nothing new that wasn't extremely easy to do in the past. Photos haven't been trustworthy for decades and definitely not over the last 10 years. This changes nothing other than maybe it's a little easier to do. If you want to fake something, you're were going to find a way regardless.

    • @brianlemke6017
      @brianlemke6017 9 месяцев назад

      @@MattKloskowski I think you kinda missed my point. Whether as a result of the new AI tools, which allow a trained monkey to alter a photo, or manipulation through experts with the advent of PS a few decades back, it’s a sobering reality. Any time I see a photo posted on IG or FB these days, especially spectacular ones I want to applaud, I ask myself if it’s real. And too often, it’s not; with no acknowledgement by the author. A sad state of affairs.

    • @MattKloskowski
      @MattKloskowski  9 месяцев назад

      Maybe follow more reputable people? I know none of the people I follow are generating photos from AI. You can look at it and decide to be sad or decide to be happy and lean in to changes. The choice for either is yours though but the doom and gloom perspective is never a good one.

      @@MattKloskowski an AI generated photo recently won a “reputable” international photography competition, complete with the cash prize. The judges never discovered the fraud; it came out when the winner publicly admitted it ……. perhaps to make exactly the point I’m making. So let me know how to distinguish reputable from disreputable. Don’t condescend.
      Today, my son-in-law and his fellow teachers have almost no means to determine if work submitted by their students is authentic or ChatGPT plagiarized BS. Everywhere, there are lawsuits being generated and efforts underway to control or moderate AI.
      So, it’s a problem.
      But yeah, I’ll be sure I look at stuff by reputable people.
