In the beginning of 2022 the Seattle O-line was a big question mark. It seems the Seahawks have locked down a dependable line in just a couple of seasons.
Agreed! Andy Dickerson has done a tremendous job of coaching these guys up; considering that we've only had our starting 5 guys for one (1) half of one game, and a different starting lineup for every game, the fact that our offense is still functioning at a pretty high level is a testament to our OL coaching and overall OL talent level.
weird how the offensive line was trash for the 10 years russ was here and then becomes good when geno takes over. And funny how the broncos have line issues
Crazy cool to have a guy who could probably go play in the NFL this year if he wanted to break down plays. Like, if Geno got hurt there's a non-zero chance CM signs with seattle to backup Lock.
Seahawks have ravens this Sunday. Commanders after (in Seattle) 49ers on thanksgiving then AT Dallas the following week and then the 49ers again after the Dallas week. This next month and a half will determine if the Seahawks are a playoff threat or not I’ll be watching
They finally have some flexibility to throw in different guys along the defensive line too. Outside rushers like Boye Mafe and Darrell Taylor are getting more QB pressures and sacks (I think thanks to BT Jordan's coaching), Jarran Reed and Dre'mont Jones stuffing the run up the middle, Frank Clark to anchor the edge, and now they have Big Cat to pitch in on third downs. Bobby is calling the shots, which has freed up Jordyn Brooks to swing out to the sidelines or come right up the gut on blitz packages, alongside Jamal Adams or Witherspoon when they put him in at nickel corner. And this is still without Koby Bryant on the field, where he has a nose for sniffing out screens and dropping rushers behind the line of scrimmage. It's an unconventional roster, but because they have key pieces that are multi-faceted players, who can drop into coverage or put pressure up front, they can really confuse offenses into making critical mistakes. If they can show some effectiveness at containing Lamar Jackson from running the ball out for himself this Sunday, I would argue they have the most deadly defensive unit in the league.
The talent is definitely there, one of the most complete rosters in the NFL. It’s all about consistency at this point, and there are some tough matchups down the stretch. Ravens this weekend, 9ers twice, cowboys, and eagles. All are tough playoff teams. Those should help us hit our stride by playoffs and hopefully get our consistency is dialed in.
I imagined all of that nothing. You know, I find it funny how selectively You The Fans apply the importance of play-calling. Fields called out his play-callers publicly after week 7 of '22 & after unsuccessfully trying to stop reporters asking him questions about it, Eberflus finally allowed Getsy more control over the offense. What happened then? The pre-D. J. Moore _Bears_ led the entire NFL in offense for those three weeks. & you the fans not only ignored this, _some_ of you said "this just proves *Fields* can't win" as the Bears lost all 3 of those games. In other words he got No Credit for anything, blame for everything, including the poor play by their supposedly talented defense. & you all went into denial regarding Eberflus' & Poles' intentions regarding Fields. Because when they responded to him calling his coaches with silence this made it 100% obvious that they had No Intention Of _TRYING_ to work anything out with him. Ousting Fields was Their Plan from Day One. They called plays accordingly. If Getsy wasn't intent on proving himself we would have never seen Fields get to shine. There was another 5-week streak in '23 where Eberflus was busy acclimating the new DC to the team. "Once again, massive increase in offensive production. Once again, when he had time to, Eberflus cancelled all those plays.
Not sure why they don't use Charbonnet on short yardage plays. He's supposed to be the bowling ball behind that line, powering his way into the end zone. They tend to get away from the run in those scenarios, choosing to throw out in the flat to stretch defenders and beat them around the edge with speed, but that's not where their strength lies. I'd even like to see some QB keepers and designed runs for Geno just to keep defenses honest and have someone spying on him in the middle of the field to create more mismatches. They can get the explosive plays going easily, and they have a more balanced offense with that backfield unit, but I feel like they don't use it as often as they should. They already know how to play unselfish ball, with DK chipping in on blocks, and their TEs rumbling downfield for first downs. Shane has a Swiss Army Knife to work with, but he seems to be trying to use the nail clippers for everything.
As a Seahawks fan, I can tell you we all strongly disliked Shane Waldron. You can’t cherry pick a couple of plays and say he’s good, I’ve watched every single down, every game. Seattle has insane weapons and couldn’t move the ball.
But was it poor play calling or were there bad O-Line schemes… like, everything is never perfect on an Offense, but the good ones figure it out. Does Shane not put his guys into the best position to succeed? Or say, the constant O-Line injuries and replacements not gelling, that kind of thing, hamper the offense? Truly interested Bears fan, thanks
Awesome video, seeing how OC Waldron designs and creates his plays using the entire offense is really cool…….now that he’s the new OC for my Chicago Bears, I can’t wait to see the plays he creates and designs for Justin Fields, DJ Moore, Tyler Scott, Darnell Mooney (if he’s given extension, possibly MHJ, Rome Ozunde or whoever other WR the Bears draft and also RB Roshon Johnson and possibly Khalil Herbert if he’s still here etc……. All the Bears have to do is build up the offensive line.

I’m sorry but this guy just seems avg at best. I understand what he did for Geno in 22’ and yeah he deserves his credit for that but Geno’s numbers wasn’t jumping off the page. He threw for 4,200 30 tds 11 ints. Those are solid numbers and I’m not taking anything away from Geno but those numbers weren’t spectacular.
