If these guys are so upset about women and black people doing things in movies, it's going to blow their minds when they find out it happens all the time in real life.
Why do you think they take movies so seriously? They consider them the last refuge, a place they're supposed to not have to deal with people who ask too many questions.
As someone who is highly critical of the new trilogy, I find myself in this weird place where I don’t want to agree with the people who relentlessly defend it, but I also don’t want to agree with the people who criticize it for being “SJW propaganda”. My issues with it are mainly about the writing (for instance, I wish they would have given Fin much more character development after the first movie, and I wish they would have done at least a bit of explaining about how Palpatine lived). So when I criticize it, I always have to make it explicitly clear that I’m not just mad about women and minorities existing.
Yeah, it's like the Ghostbusters remake. It's not a good movie, but that's just cos it's not a particularly well written comedy. Problem is that puts me in the same box as people who hated the movie because "THE WOMEN ARE STEALING MY CHILDHOOD" etc.
I love the sequels but I rarely find people who just simply dislike it and usually just start screaming about how Holdo is a man hater and Kathleen Kennedy is a cunt who ruined their lives its so wild
Worst part is when people who like it start accusing you of being a racist or a sexist for not liking it. You shouldn’t have to make it clear that you’re not a misogynist before criticising a legitimately shitty movie. People defending Disney of all companies in the name of progressivism will never cease to disappoint me.
Agreed, if you filter the sound through a Maschine developed by the Nazis, you can actually hear the Internationalé and the Soviet Anthem playing both at the same time

"A poor substitute for other black characters like Mace Windu" You mean that character that has no personality whatsoever and wasted Samuel L Jackson's talent?
LoonyyyWSMN yeah it really blows, but star wars has a lot of adding in cool. looking characters that do nothing but then flesh their characters out in the expanded universe
...I mean, a non-zero amount, I'd say. At the time, *as I recall* (I might be completely forgetting something in inter-trilogy EU stuff), it was the only purple saber in Star Wars (though the first Knights of the Old Republic, which came out a year after Attack of the Clones, then included yellow, purple, and white sabers), and that was entirely due to Sam Jackson insisting on imprinting some of his own personality on the character. ...that's about it, though, yeah.
What did you want him tuo do? Sit ther for 5 minutes rattling off names? I'm not even on his side but that was one of the 2 flaws in this video ( the second being that a lightsaber is just a stupid stick anyone can use)

My favorite thing about Finn's use of a lightsaber is that the first time he tries it, he gets his ass handed to him by another stormtrooper, and the second time, he only barely holds his own against a guy so fucked up he's only still standing on pure adrenaline.
They honestly should have made Finn the main character. When I saw him as the first person presented on screen, I was about to praise Disney for having a black mc, which is uncommon. And his character as having been a clone who confronted his morality was really engaging. I thought from the trailers that he was going to be the titular Jedi mc, and having a clone have the force despite being a clone would have done away with the midichlorians bullshit and restored the magical-ness of the whole thing. And then Rey came along, and now suddenly she's the main character despite having nothing quite like Finn's story. And to pour salt in the wound, our boy Finn gets put into a coma by the end of the movie and is practically absent for the second one, until he just decides to almost die. But Disney didn't even have the balls to kill off anyone important in a movie that literally has the word WARS in the title, so he lived and everyone lived happily ever after. But not the gays. We must bury the gays. (that one general with the purple hair that Disney claimed was gay just decided to die). So Disney sidelines POCs, buries the gays, and has the most generic female protagonist I've ever seen, and then has the balls to claim they're progressive. I. Call. Bullshit. Damn okay I did not mean for this to be this long. But yeah Finn was great. He was an amazing character stuck in a shit movie.
@@foxcheetah6035 bro I feel you. Racism sucks. If they had Finn as the protagonist and Rey as the deuteragonist probably could’ve had something. Like having the first black protagonist and with a very important women chat would’ve been great. But no instead they went “We want minorities money, but we don’t want to do the actual work and make really well fleshed out characters. Instead we’ll make a generic female character, an easily cut out gay scene, and the black guy doesn’t die so it’s good enough”
I've really never understood all the racist and sexist debacle around the movie. Really, women and black people having main roles bothers these people?
I see no replies, so I'll try it. What really bothers people is not the inclusion of women or minorities, but that said inclusion has become a yardstick for a movie being seen as "socially acceptable". I shudder to think of the media shit-frenzy that would erupt if 'A New Hope' had been released this year. Think about it, a major motion picture, with only one token woman in a starring role, and absolutely no minority actors? People would boycott, media would "report", social outrage would be manufactured, and George Lucas would hurredly cast Billy Dee Williams as Han Solo, to avert accusations of racism. I think RedLetterMedia said it best: "Star Wars has become a living nightmare we can no longer escape from, even in death."
But raising all this noise about Star Wars around imagined accusations of what producers might do to meet some criteria for inclusion strikes me as silly.
+Steven Schneider It is silly, just as silly as demanding certain roles be filled by women and minorities, or "ethnically correct" individuals. Did you see the big stink raised over the Gods of Egypt movie? "There's a white guy instead of an Egyptian guy! I am filled with outrage!" What utterly stupid times we live in...
Nailed it - thanks for pointing out the "it's less controversial to have a black guy star in a movie 30 years ago than it is now" conundrum. Two things we can learn from this: #1 - it didn't bother them *then*, because kids aren't born sexist or racist - you have to learn that sh*t. #2 - You know how, here in the US, the conservatives keep harping on about how "Obamacare is evil?" Maybe you *also* heard that "Obamacare" was based on a plan invented by conservatives back in the '80s, and implemented by Republican Governor Mitt Romney, but no matter, because if Obama likes it, we hate it, and that's that? I'm starting to think MRAs and other internet complaints operate the exact same way. The so-called "SJWs" had nice things to say about TFAs diversity, and their sad little brains went "wellll, if THEY like it, WE HAVE TO HATE IT!" Because that is literally how their minds operate. ("I like X. Liberals like X? Now I hate X!") (see: Undertale, etc.)
I thought it was pretty much a fact already in evidence that reactionaries define their tastes and positions as against whatever liberals embrace or endorse. I mean, that's why their called "reactionaries", right?
@Dorian sapiens Yes; it has been argued that the core of fascism is an alliance of convenience between various groups that share very little besides hatred of the left.

They make it sound like having more female characters, black characters, Asian characters etc automatically equates to "filling a quota" or "cultural marxism" or whatever. They are so paranoid and angry for no good reason and it's not even funny.
Yeah, their only argument is that they do that to fill a quota. But the society needs to have more representation of women, black, and asians somehow. Star Wars was always pretty leftist: the original can be seen as siding with the Vietcongs in the Vietnam War. And by can be seen, I mean George Lucas thought so as he was making it.
+Rowan Atkinson Also that star wars review he did taught me that the alt-right made up a slur for black people and I have to ask: why? It's not like you're hurting for choice on that front, the centuries of brutal oppression we apparently completely halted in the last fifty years saw to that.
Cartoon. I mean beyond the shaved head and skull theme, he's proud of declaring himself cartoonishly evil, he has massive delusions about his superior intelligence and he's basically completely harmless and incompetent in the end. I feel it's a perfect fit.
I love how these people always say, "THERE ARE PLENTY OF STRONG FEMALE CHARACTERS," and then proceed to name the _exact same four female characters_ from 40 years ago: Ripley, Catwoman, Leia, and Sarah Connor. Do they not see the irony of only having those four examples? EDIT: Also only one of those characters is the main character of the film/franchise, lmfao.
Mace Windu was fucking lame! How can he think that Finn wasn't a far superior character? Is it because Mace Windu was a black character far less crucial to the plot?
Pushon Bhattacharya he became way cooler and more interesting I'm the expanded universe, but I'd how much of his lore is still cannon, but he had great moments during the clone wars cg show, and 2 bad ass episodes in the 2003 clone wars cartoon
You dont understand the importance of internal logic in fantasy/sci fi ? Its what separate good (pullman/le guin/ jordan) from shit like Harry potter, GoT (tv series) and yes, Disney star wars.
I mean, it should. Consistent rules within a fantasy creates stakes. If you make a fantasy setting and then establish that anything can happen, then I’m not really all that interested in the plot, the protagonist could just do some random, never-before-seen thing and win. Fantasy should adhere to rules of its own creation.
Fantasy in general shouldn't adhere to rules. Simply because it would limit the freedom of creativity and make the whole point of having fantasies kinda obsolete. But inside of a specific fantasy world there have to be rules. (I can elaborate why if you want.) The 2nd case is what people talk about if they say "fantasy should adhere to rules". Imagine the magic mirror of Snow White's step mother being able to tell lies and doing so because it doesn't want to be bothered by that crazy witch. The rule of the mirror always telling the truth is very important for the plot.
The thing is that Anakin is easily influenced and overconfident. Rey does not have flaws, and her story is not entertaining. However, it has nothing to do with anything other than bad writing. Of course, Anakin's writing had its flaws, but at least they tried. The biggest criticism with these characters (the ones anti-sjw's have a problem with) is that they are bland and don't have a compelling story to tell, so they feel like a pretext. In their minds, these characters replace the good old ones that were better written. I think their criticism is valid, but I also think that it can lead them too far.
@@c-eb3634 Honestly most people are blinded by nostalgia. The old characters were nothing to write home about for the most part. Rey isn't that much of a downgrade.
@@sophitiaofhyrule I think they were much better written, as was the story around them. I do think the OT is overrated, but at least I can think of them as a story that makes sense and I can be invested in it. The sequels completely break immersion for me because they don't make sense at all and I can feel the big marketing paws behind the decisions. They feel dishonest and not only messy, but also made in bad faith. I see them not as stories, but as assets, just as Disney sees it.
Anakin was literally on autopilot majority of the time he was on screen at that battle and he acted a bit clumsy around that Lucrehulk carrier and gets shot down by a Vulture Droid even though his ship was not heavily damaged and crash landing to the Hangar even when he had just completed a very dangerous podracing obstacle course and we know he participated in that race as it had been stated in the same movie that Sebulba crushed his pod racer in a race prior to the one we see in that sequence before the main cast arrived. Anakin also had R2-D2 in order to assist him in his flight and he only managed to destroy the carrier just by accidentally pulling the trigger. Meanwhile with Rey when we see her flying for the first time, although she had a few mishaps with her flying, she manages to expertly fly the Falcon in low-attitude around the wreckage of fallen Star-Destroyers and Starships without anyone assisting her flying the Falcon except Finn who is in a gunner away from her and without any experience piloting a starship or any dangerous craft like Anakin’s podracer and she suddenly acts so surprised how she was able to fly so good. It seemed to me that Rey flied the Falcon way better than Anakin flied his starfighter when comparing the two scenes.
This is laughable. The Star Wars movie had no 'SJW' perspective in it whatsoever. The actors were good, and looked the most normal everyday people I've seen in movies in a while (apart from the whole space magician thing and spaceships, obviously). It's almost as if people were complaining about the absence of stereotypes. But that couldn't be, right?
“sJwS rUiNeD sTaR wArS” No, JJ Abrams ruined Star Wars by making the worst movie of the entire franchise(unless of course the holiday special counts as a movie). Having a diverse cast was one of the few things the sequel trilogy actually did right.

I really liked the Force Awakens, my only real critique is that it feels too much like a New Hope. But unfortunately, I think the movie was make infinitely weaker retroactively by the Last Jedi. I really didn't like the Last Jedi and one big reason is how it deliberately didn't pick up on any of the plot points set up in the Force Awakens. This make Episode 7 feel like wasted potential when it should have been so much more.

Do you remember Star Trek? Do you remember how the first two iterations of it had a white male captains? But then, about 23 years ago, they went all SJW on the third series had a black captain instead of a white one. And then they went one better and had an evil vaginabeast as captain in the fourth series. And do you remember how no one gave a shit or soapboxed about how the liberal SJW agenda would be the end of the white man? Wonder why that was? Maybe because it wasn't the end of the white man. Maybe these guys should turn on their TV and check the "progress" the SJW agenda has made since Ben Sisko, and see are they still terrified all the white blokes will disappear.
In addition to my previous comment - have these guys ever seen Star Wars? It was always about liberty and democracy loving leftists vs. fascistic tyrants, racists and demagogues. It's sort of the whole story.

The force awakens was a bad movie. Because nothing new happens. It is basically a remake of a new hope disguised as a sequel. ... Yet there are some people who think this movie would have been better if there were no blacks or girls in it.
I didn't mind the villain. His whiny persona fits his character. Hopefully when he completes his training he is more of a bad ass obviously. Rey was a bit of a mary sue though.

if you were an actual fan of star wars youd know that storm troopers are trained in a lot of different forms of combat, swords included. Finn was one of the best storm troopers before defecting. So it makes sense for him to be able to use a light sabre. But they show his limitations when he fights against an actual force user like kylo ren.

These movies are uninspiring, unimaginative, shallow copies, and a misunderstanding of the source material. I love it that they're more inclusive than the older stuff, but honestly, that should be a given and doesn't make them good movies. And I hate it that I have to defend these bad movies against racists and misogynists. I'm sad because I love Star Wars, but there just hasn't been anything really good coming out since Disney took over. Except Fallen Order, maybe.
now, honestly, couldn't the general internet landscape just do this? keep mocking the right-wing idiots rather than giving them a platform to stand on?
I wish the star wars sequels were SJW movies they'd probably have given more attention to the characters. Finn and his story is completely overshadowed and forgotten. Rey is essentially a blank slate, and Disney refused to consider making Poe and Finn gay instead making background characters kiss that they then removed for foreign releases As it stands the main characters are an empty husk of a female character and the archetypal white man how exactly is this progressive and diverse movie? There are plenty of reasons to dislike the new movies but them being SJW films is not one Movie does look and sound very nice though
5:37 he's probably referring to the fact that in the comics and books and stuff (which are sorta kinda no longer canon), the force of two light sabers striking is apparently so strong that one must use the force to keep from flying away. This is still a great video, just a little nitpick of your nitpick of a nitpick.
I quite liked The Force Awakens. But I very much dislike The Last Jedi but realize some of the seeds in it are from The Force Awakens. Mostly the "breaking previously set rules of the universe" is something I think the new star wars does do. Just seem like they're doing it for cheap "GOTCHA!" audience moments.
5:31 countless entirely non force sensitives have been completely capable of wielding a lightsaber, its just theyre generally used in conjunction with the force
+BrotherAlpha That's just references, Easter Eggs, really! Starkiller instead of the Death Star, Phasma thrown into the trash compactor, the Millenium Falcon being called ''garbage'' by Rey, all that stuff refers to events that occured in A New Hope ON PURPOSE, for the fans to catch those up and be like ''cool, an Easter Egg''. But if you think about the main points of the plots, things get pretty different. Like, if really the two movies are that close, then I guess Rey would be a genderswap of Luke, right? Except Luke lived a peaceful farmer life with a foster family, while Rey was left to handle herself on her own as a scavenger. Luke is pretty quick to accept the Force, while Rey runs away from it at first, and only accept it AFTER she gets captured by Kylo Ren (something that doesn't happen to Luke AT ALL btw!). She also had no master to teach her the basis of the Force, while Luke had Obi-Wan. Plenty of stuff happening to her that didn't to Luke, and vice-versa. Then there's Finn. Really, is there any character on A New Hope that can be compared to Finn? There's no stormtrooper switching side in that movie! No bad guy turning good. Finn is really a character on his own with no A New Hope comparison. Same for Poe, too, when you think about it. Then there's also the fact that both sides are looking for Luke and the old Jedi training ground, something that has no comparison to A New Hope. Poe and Finn escaping with a TIE fighter, a pretty awesome scene that doesn't occur in A New Hope. Or how about the fact that, in order to destroy the Starkiller, Han, Chewie and Finn have to land on it and drop the shields? Nothing similar happens when they destroy the Death Star. Heck, btw, Poe is the one doing the shooting that destroy the Starkiller, not Rey. Or is Poe the real stand in for Luke in that movie now? LOL. I could go on and on pointing out differences, and it's not like I remember everything from A New Hope; I haven't seen that movie since a very long time! The point is: Yes, there are similarities, but it's more of an homage than anything else. If you look deep down into it, there's also a ton of differences between the two movies, especcially when it comes to the new Rey/Finn/Poe trio! Oh, and here's just a last one for the sake of it: What motivates Kylo Ren to fight for the Dark Side vs what motivates Darth Vader. I mean, I'm assuming you're comparing those two, rights? But I don't recall Vader being motivated by pursueing the legacy of the darker members of his family. Just saying!
+ChevaliersEmeraude Well, I'd say that it pretty much copies the major plot beats and character archetypes. But can you blame them? After the collective disaster that was the Prequel Trilogy, they wanted something safe and solid. The original Star Wars hewed very close to simple, archetype-based storytelling, itself.
William Writepony See, like I said (but I must admit it was a long post): Sure, Rey can be compared to Luke, but only because they are both the Jedis. But they have different backgrounds and motivations. Same with Kylo Ren vs Darth Vader: They can only be compared because they are the villains. But, again, they have different motivations and personnalities. And I doubt he's Rey's father (althought, according to theories around, he could be her brother or her cousin.). As for Finn and Poe? There's absolutely no way neither of them can be compared to Han or Leia. Completely different characters all the way, the four of them.
Ignored in this analysis is the fact that it is hardly only white males who disliked The Last Jedi. The Chinese box office dropped 65% for The Last Jedi vs The Force Awakens, the Mexican 50%, and the percentages were echoed in large part in most of Asia and South America. (South Korea, Singapore, etc.) The only markets where The Last Jedi came close to holding were France and Germany, and even there the drop was something like 25%. (The US/Canadian market dropped 34% for reference, 30% in the UK and Australia, etc.) Sorry but the story the movie attempted to tell was just a confused muddle and while Episode VIII did gross over a billion it burnt through the residual goodwill of an audience that has apparently lost interest in the story. Or I suppose in a market like China now lost the curiosity factor to see what all the fuss was about in the rest of the world, since they had no real history with the franchise. Episode IX is going to be a VERY tough sell in most of the world outside of the US/Canada, western Europe and possibly Japan at this point. I'm skeptical it can gross much above $800 million, and I think they can safely kiss a billion dollar world wide goodbye right now. The Chinese market is especially critical, since it is now the second largest in the world. I don't see how any movie with a $200 million dollar budget has a prayer of profitability if it bombs there in the current era. As Episode IX is almost certainly going to. I haven't seen Solo yet and I certainly won't be seeing Episode IX opening weekend, if I bother seeing it in the theater at all. I'm personally far more excited about the next installment in the Clone Wars cartoon.
You do know this was about the Force Awakens, right? Not The Last Jedi, as it was made before The Last Jedi came out. I am genuinely confused as to what your point is.
My problem with The Last Jedi is that the actions of the characters often don't make sense and that it has four consecutive false endings. But perhaps I have just outgrown the franchise?
The far right with fast 8bit songs feels like ur watching a speed run of nazi bingo and it’s simultaneously horrifying, hilarious, and so very half assed I so wish we got bad guys with compelling back stories instead we are in the bad universe where all the villains suck and nobody would read our comics
RockingMrE's criticisms are full of **** aside from one. The entire plot is a badly done rehash of a new hope, the writing was sub-par & the character developed was lacking. But the problem wasn't that it had a female lead, or that it had a black character as a secondary lead. The problem was the bad writing. Daisy & John did a great job & acted very well - I just hope they get a writer/director who understands star wars better & really gives them the chance to shine they deserve. The anti-SJWs are utterly wrong 99% of the time & are clearly criticizing the film unjustly for dubious reasons. However, the new anti-anti-SWJ channels (like this - sorry to say) seem to be blind to the genuine criticism some of these films deserve (plot related problems, not the racists moaning about black people & women having lead roles that is).
Wow i have read about 3 Comments like this in this Video and not one of them get a Response from these high and mighty anti anti anti anti sjw´s. I wonder why....
If these guys are so upset about women and black people doing things in movies, it's going to blow their minds when they find out it happens all the time in real life.

Why do you think they take movies so seriously? They consider them the last refuge, a place they're supposed to not have to deal with people who ask too many questions.
kudosbudo that's why solo bombed
And it's SJW's who can't handle the world? Besides, how do black facesstop a person escaping with movies?
What a gross overgeneralization
As someone who is highly critical of the new trilogy, I find myself in this weird place where I don’t want to agree with the people who relentlessly defend it, but I also don’t want to agree with the people who criticize it for being “SJW propaganda”. My issues with it are mainly about the writing (for instance, I wish they would have given Fin much more character development after the first movie, and I wish they would have done at least a bit of explaining about how Palpatine lived). So when I criticize it, I always have to make it explicitly clear that I’m not just mad about women and minorities existing.
Pretty much how I feel about the movies as well.

Wait Finn was trained from childhood to be a soldier, but somehow he learned how to use a pointy stick. WHAT, HOW?
And they knew their opponent had Jedi on their side. Why don't train your troopers how to wight with and against lightsabers?
I. Call. Bullshit.

Political correctness censorship leftist midichlorians. I almost died.
Even in death? When I die will I wake up in the Star Wars universe as a CG alien?
But raising all this noise about Star Wars around imagined accusations of what producers might do to meet some criteria for inclusion strikes me as silly.
Paul Kerrigan The punishment zone of the afterlife would be a small room with the Star Wars Prequels on a loop, 24/7.
+Steven Schneider It is silly, just as silly as demanding certain roles be filled by women and minorities, or "ethnically correct" individuals.
Well I think undertale is hated for more reasons than liberals like it. A lot more as a matter of fact.
These days the controversy arises from a black guy *not* starring in a movie.
I thought it was pretty much a fact already in evidence that reactionaries define their tastes and positions as against whatever liberals embrace or endorse. I mean, that's why their called "reactionaries", right?

Yeah, their only argument is that they do that to fill a quota.
But the society needs to have more representation of women, black, and asians somehow.

The phrase "fantasy should adhere to rules" is one of the most unintentionally funny things I've ever heard.
I prefer my fantasy conveyed through hard realism personally
You dont understand the importance of internal logic in fantasy/sci fi ? Its what separate good (pullman/le guin/ jordan) from shit like Harry potter, GoT (tv series) and yes, Disney star wars.
As a writer, I can confirm. Fantasy *should* adhere to rules.
(I can elaborate why if you want.)
The 2nd case is what people talk about if they say "fantasy should adhere to rules".
Imagine the magic mirror of Snow White's step mother being able to tell lies and doing so because it doesn't want to be bothered by that crazy witch.
The rule of the mirror always telling the truth is very important for the plot.
The fact that people complain about Rey being “to perfect” when anakin literally destroys a square mile sized spaceship at the age of 9 hurts my brain

“sJwS rUiNeD sTaR wArS” No, JJ Abrams ruined Star Wars by making the worst movie of the entire franchise(unless of course the holiday special counts as a movie). Having a diverse cast was one of the few things the sequel trilogy actually did right.
Does rockingmre know that he isn't white?
@D. A-Y Productions that's not the point
Wait he's not?
@@adecentdelinquent8986 idk, it just depends on which social construct you work with. My question is if he will survive the litmus test he's trying to establish.
4:39 Oh come on, he couldn't even get the A to match? I mean FFS, just copy one of the A's in "Awakens", it's not that hard!
I think Rocking -MRA- MrE'S deleting comments who disagree with him. Every time I open a video made by him (AKA 1 or 2 times) I don't see any criticism. Which is kinda ironic since he's for all freeze peach.
+Your Generic Commie He has always done this. I remember in the old days of conflicts with other MRAs (MGTOW I believe it was), Mr E would delete contrary opinions and call anyone who disagreed with him a leftist cultural marxist socialist SJW propagandist.
Echo chambers are very popular with cult leaders.
+TheSamuraiGoomba "Anyone who disagrees with me not only deserves to be blocked from my channel, but also deserves to be shoved into a coffin of nails and pushed off of a waterfall."

***** Firstly, RUclips removes comments which they think it's spam. Secondly, Hbomb isn't a warrior for free speech.
***** Well someone tell that to RUclips. Or you guys could stop making a shit ton of comments at the same time.
Finn is literally a soldier, you think he didn’t train in close combat?!?
Wish I could thumb this up twice just for the Mark Kermode cameo.
+P Ferreira Well that seems childish to dismiss a person's work completely because they have a different opinion on a movie to you.
Not like the Star Wars movies are perfect by any means either, can totally see why they wouldn't work for some people.
P Ferreira In Mark Kermode's case he has said that part of his indifference to Star Wars was liking heavier science fiction like Solaris and 2001, I think for him it was just a case of seeing Star Wars at the wrong time. fwiw he really likes the new movie though and I think he has always admired Empire Strikes Back.
+hbomberguy His Entourage review is a work of art to me, especially the first 15 seconds.
Maybe because those shows were actually good and had character development
Back then, Star trek did get a lot of criticism precisely because of that reason.
7:58 What? I don't hate straight white males! Some of my best friends are straight white males!
im done with your hateful accusations
In addition to my previous comment - have these guys ever seen Star Wars? It was always about liberty and democracy loving leftists vs. fascistic tyrants, racists and demagogues. It's sort of the whole story.
I just noticed that rocking philosophy's logo uses Greek letters wrongly. Is it nitpicky or wrong of me to dismiss his views because of that? Surely, if he were versed in philosophy he'd know what letters those actually are.
Maybe it's just me, but shit like that drives me up the wall.
I was thinking the exact same thing.
rphking phhlphsphphps
It's called stylizing.
Kylo Ren is a great star wars character, yeah hes a whiny bitch, but thats not anything new.
Phendranaguardian
I don't even disagree with you, but you can't compare Kylo and Anakin cause we know Anakins story but Kylo has only had the 1 movie, and yeah we don't know what happened, but i'm more interested in that and optimistic about it than you lol.
The only bad thing was that the Republic and Coruscant was killed. TCW actually made me care for those damnit, you cant just sink a Venator without showing it they're like designed to look cool while sinking.
But that wasn't the point of the video. The point of the video was to respond to the people who thought TFA was some leftist SJW propaganda thing.
The hold on Rey’s face made me realize how pretty Daisy Ridley’s eyes are. I always thought they were hazel or brown, but they’re actually more similar to my eye color which is like a light forest or “envy” green, but her’s are darker, a more “charming” green, really beautiful. I’m jealous. That was my take away from his video.
did he just section John Boyega as "effeminate" lol what?
At 3:50 does he say "Ripley in Ridley Scotty"?
Ah yes, who could forget such a classic role!
" I would call it the dark side, but they're all white." lol
notorious leftists, the walt disney corporation
Speaking as an ancient Greek student, it's hilarious the Greek letters he used in his image: Capital phi for 'o', delta for 's', gamma for 'y'... like I get what your going for but like you could just use φιλοσοφια, it means philosophy and I think people would get the idea. Or... you know... use the right letters
I dislike the new Star Warses (?plural?) because I think they are unoriginal and break the lore, but I do like the extra diversity, since it gives minorities good role models in Star Wars.
Good, pansexual, criminal role models.
You hate the sequels because you're racist/sexist, I hate the sequels because they're poorly written and confusing.
We are not the same.
Racist and sexist but hate it for the writing tbh
god the fucking "it's a rehash of new hope" complaint never made sense to me? tfa is like.........very obviously paralleling anh on purpose? for apparent star wars fans these guys sure suck at understanding extended plots
Anti SjWs:
"STAR WARS IS BAD CAUSE ITS SO FULL OF POLITICS AND AGENDAS!"
Also Anti SjWs:
*Complains entirely about the politics of Star Wars for 20 minutes straight.*
"The video is 9:11 long because star wars can't melt steel beams" This made me chuckle.
4:14 I thought you edited that in! My sides are currently missing.
I just realized Mr Es three female characters in movies list only one of them are the main character
It’s genuinely a bad movie but not for why most people seem to think
Rockerman is amazing. He apparently heard somewhere that if you are constantly flicking your eyes right and left people are more likely to notice you're lying. So he trained himself to flick his entire head in the opposite direction at the same time so he keeps eye contact. Brilliant!
Also, I have to assume that when E-ster says Finn "had an effete look about him" what he means is "I immediately wanted to kiss him on the mouth."
Well, to be fair about the part when Han Solo uses a lightsaber, he doesn't fight with it. He just uses it.
if you were an actual fan of star wars youd know that storm troopers are trained in a lot of different forms of combat, swords included. Finn was one of the best storm troopers before defecting. So it makes sense for him to be able to use a light sabre. But they show his limitations when he fights against an actual force user like kylo ren.
@@vishishify
And the movie itsself obliterates your point by showing that every time Finn tried to fight using a lightsaber, he almost died
Yes, against an other, well trained, anger driven stormtrooper and Kylo Ren himself. Makes sense tbh
Every time I watch one of these videos it's just this whole other experience. I go in knowing generally what to expect but the EXACT LEVEL of bullshit that you cover is just astounding. I'm sorry for your recommended videos but at least I can get my insanity fill here rather than trawling through the same pile of shit you do for our entertainment. So thanks.
Can't wait for part 2!
When you look for problems, you eventually find them, even where there aren't any.
Thinking a person of different skin color is there for the sake of it, sounds awfully lot like confirmation bias.
Sounds like the Author of this Video.....
Finn should have been a Jedi
I wish bad movie's could just go back to being considered bad, because they are bad, like the force awakens, and the last Jedi, and Rise of skywalker.
SJW's didn't ruin Star Wars, Disney did.
2:46 sorry? philfsfphy? lmao
Mr E's eyes freak me out. Even when he stops waggling his head back and forth for "emphasis" and is facing the camera/script, his eyes start to sliiiide off to one side. They seem to actively avoid pointing in the same direction as his face, possibly because they didn't like what he is pointing them at.
rockingmre is exactly what i picture everyone who whines about "sjws" on the internet
some things popping up in your subscription box really make you happy :)
I don't like the way Rocking Meal, ready-to-Eat turns his head sideways while still looking at the camera
it creeps me out
Your RUclips recommendations must look like hell thanks to this. I feel so sorry for you.
Was that Thunderfoot? I used to like his evolution stuff, what's he been up to lately? He seemed like a nice guy then.
+Geospasmic It's pretty much feminism station 24/7. Edit: well, anti feminism station at least.
+Geospasmic He descended into making a lot of anti-Islam videos (including railing against the "Ground Zero Mosque") before getting invited to and then getting kicked off of FreeThoughtBlogs over arguments about harassment policies at skeptic conventions ("Organizers shouldn't worry about harassment at conventions they're organizing because my videos get more views than them" - actual argument he made).
Since then he's been doing loads of anti-feminist videos, complete with a baffling and creepy obsession with Anita Sarkeesian.
Well, thanks, thar was easier than mucking through it. Glad I bailed when I got over my angry phase, there's a bunch of those guys that seem to have gone insane in the meantime. Wonder what AronRa is up to.
+Geospasmic I think he's tired of thunderf00t's shit. Sometime ago he called out thunderf00t on a google hangout about skewing information about custody issues.
Snow Mystique >custody issues
So Mason's gone full-blown MRA?
7:10 Τηε φοντ?! He used an upper case phi as an o and a lower case one as a p, a lower case greek delta as an s and what I can only guess is a stylized psi as a y font would seem to me a distant second to being random
We got the books, at least and the comics
now, honestly, couldn't the general internet landscape just do this? keep mocking the right-wing idiots rather than giving them a platform to stand on?
I wish the star wars sequels were SJW movies they'd probably have given more attention to the characters. Finn and his story is completely overshadowed and forgotten. Rey is essentially a blank slate, and Disney refused to consider making Poe and Finn gay instead making background characters kiss that they then removed for foreign releases
As it stands the main characters are an empty husk of a female character and the archetypal white man how exactly is this progressive and diverse movie? There are plenty of reasons to dislike the new movies but them being SJW films is not one
Movie does look and sound very nice though
5:37 he's probably referring to the fact that in the comics and books and stuff (which are sorta kinda no longer canon), the force of two light sabers striking is apparently so strong that one must use the force to keep from flying away. This is still a great video, just a little nitpick of your nitpick of a nitpick.
MrE: "...SJWs reacted to 'Avengers: Age of Ultron', trolling, harassing, and bullying Joss Whedon..."
Rey: "Uhh.. Sir, this is a Space-Wendy's."
4:08 So he's annoyed that the story teller set rules that he doesn't like?
I quite liked The Force Awakens. But I very much dislike The Last Jedi but realize some of the seeds in it are from The Force Awakens. Mostly the "breaking previously set rules of the universe" is something I think the new star wars does do. Just seem like they're doing it for cheap "GOTCHA!" audience moments.
5:31 countless entirely non force sensitives have been completely capable of wielding a lightsaber, its just theyre generally used in conjunction with the force
I'll give him credit for one relevant complaint. The movie was way too close to A New Hope.
+BrotherAlpha That's not a bug, it's a feature. Really.
And A New Hope was too close to Lord of the Rings!
"The video is 9:11 long because star wars can't melt steel beams"

Ignored in this analysis is the fact that it is hardly only white males who disliked The Last Jedi. The Chinese box office dropped 65% for The Last Jedi vs The Force Awakens, the Mexican 50%, and the percentages were echoed in large part in most of Asia and South America. (South Korea, Singapore, etc.) The only markets where The Last Jedi came close to holding were France and Germany, and even there the drop was something like 25%. (The US/Canadian market dropped 34% for reference, 30% in the UK and Australia, etc.)
Sorry but the story the movie attempted to tell was just a confused muddle and while Episode VIII did gross over a billion it burnt through the residual goodwill of an audience that has apparently lost interest in the story.
When he co opted Star Wars for white men I got way too mad.
My problem with The Last Jedi is that the actions of the characters often don't make sense and that it has four consecutive false endings. But perhaps I have just outgrown the franchise?
I'm angry about Finn's character as well. Because they wasted the actor and didn't give him enough interesting development.
The far right with fast 8bit songs feels like ur watching a speed run of nazi bingo and it’s simultaneously horrifying, hilarious, and so very half assed I so wish we got bad guys with compelling back stories instead we are in the bad universe where all the villains suck and nobody would read our comics
Oh my goodness, the song at 2:01 is so recognizable to me and yet I can't place what game it's from! AGH!
