great stage and music but there needed to be more lighting on the dancers so we could actually SEE THEIR MOVES,,,, loved it though and give all of the beginners a big Bravo for doing very well considering we can hardly see them. lighting is everything!! a smaller stage with bomb lighting would have been ideal and lovely
There are so many haters in this comment section its pathetic. Dancing is hard! Preforming is scary and hard! Everyone starts at the beginning, the more you preform the better you get at preforming. Anyone who gets on stage in a competition that you never entered yourself is automatically better than you lol. Also, to the untrained eye the first competitor seemed unskilled but she came on stage with a veil AND finger cymbals, then did her whole veil routine with finger cymbals on! If you don't see that as skill then you've clearly never tried dancing with cymbals before. She automatically smashed the entire beginner competition the moment she did that in my opinion.
As a retired professional, I agree with you. It's rare to see a dancer use zills and a veil anymore. She looked like she was enjoying performing, and was my favorite.
Thank you so much!! I was definitely a baby belly dancer at that time. This was fun and took a lot of courage. I actually had no idea that this video was up, but I'm glad it is. I'm proud of myself!!
@@lilliehalumi8770Thank you!! I was definitely a beginner in this, but I'm honestly proud of my performance. I've come a long way and may bust out a similar routine soon. I've got a big audition coming up. 😉
I don't think the first young lady was so bad. She just needs time and experience. And, maybe a bigger veil. She will learn a lot from this experience, and she's quite brave to step out and try her hand at a competition.
0_o I don't wish to sound off as a mean person, this might come off the wrong way but, I feel like most of these girls' performances are bad auditions to American's Got Talent. If you've seen the show you'll see what I mean. It's pretty bad that you actually start to think it's a joke. They have potential, but they just have to practice on their grace and arm movements like makeapennycry said.
seems like they have LOW STANDARDS.. 3 years for pro?? maybe intermediate.. just because you have been dancing for years doesn't make you a pro.. sheesh
Is this an amateur contest? there are alot of really great outfits and some good moves, but seems like there needs to be alot of armwork help. I don't mean offense, it's just the arms are not fluid enough.
Nicely done: RAQS SHARQI Drums slowly begin their synchronized beat Rhythm fills breathless anticipation; Silken cloud enters to bloom then retreat Lithe form subtle, hidden, builds our elation. The dancer weaving in slow gyration Teasing from her ether of swirling veil Then to explode in vibrant variation Stunning motion, pleasure, for our avail The dancer in a momentum of joy Swaying hips sinuous and sensuous She of beguiling body does employ, Her all, in spirit so adventurous. Both of veil and flesh this dancer our dream Her grace and beauty to forge our esteem.
disappointed with the first young lady. costume didn't fit her. arm techniques need work. sigh. they sure shes not beginner? there were a couple gold mines in here but overall....=____=
sorry but after watching MIDDLE EASTERN WOMEN DANCE LIKE GODDESSES ,TEMPTRESSES ....USA GIRLS NEEDS A LOT OF SPICE theres something missing here...lots of wonderful things i see from the original belly dancers

Oh dear.... Have these ladies never learned how one should should walk on and off stage??? Always, Always stay in character!! You can't walk onstage like a clod an then expect to give a convincing performance. The audience must have been full of supporters. Meena Gorgese got it right. A Belly Dancer enters gracefully, uses her whole body in her dance, and leaves gracefully. Belly dancing is more than hip shimmies and shoulder shimmies. Unfortunately most of these women haven't figured that out yet. And I swear that nobody knows how to work with a veil. You can do more than to carry it in with you, fluttering in the breeze, and then drop it. It takes more than a crystal and bead encrusted costume and a few lessons to make one a good dancer. Other good dancers were Sahar and Samantha. They had graceful movements and could walk on and off stage like true dancers.
@@amongstsus9201 I'm guessing you've never been a performer. I'm a retired dancer and every dance teacher and choreographer I've worked with has stressed that how one walks on stage can make or break a performance. It's the first time an audience sees the performer and if that performer is to capture the audience's attention. Have you ever paid attention to how ballet dancers come onstage? They are always in character.

Some of them I understand why they want to hide in the dark

The moment the Haters are able to dance as well as or better than these lovely ladies, then - and only then - can they judge them.

Any woman learning to belly dance should be applauded and supported!

So who won?
seems like they have LOW STANDARDS.. 3 years for pro?? maybe intermediate.. just because you have been dancing for years doesn't make you a pro.. sheesh
Taylani and Samantha were the only good dancers.. sorry ladies.. I never heard of this contest?? where was it??
malena sharqui i think it's vegas?
Hermosa toda la faena y hermosas las amigas

I think they said it was intermediate level.
The El Hob Halal dance is good (but I think it is taken from Aida Bogomolova's choreo, not sure tho) just needs more smoothness on her moves though.
Hey nice dance
we all started as beginners, and the first girl is not to blame. It is the teacher who did not prepare her for what is happening in a contest....
I had been dancing about a few years. I was definitely a novice, but looking back at this, I'm DAMN proud of it.
If I had to judge, I’d say Samantha was the winner

Lastima estos festivales ya no son lo que eran, porque no se ponen en forma antes de salir a bailar.
Por qué no se necesita estar en "forma" para tener talento al bailar
may I ask why they're being judged by what they wear?
Why not?
@@javedsultan4830 Why not? Part of the performance is the costumes.
Begginer. .needs more practice

Whoever was filming this could use a few lessons. You can hardly see what the dancers are doing from far away.
In this case, I think that's best

Not everyone has the same level of talent in life and that's totally ok! They are doing better than me!
- teachers, more respect for those students who pay to be taught well.

ma'am, maybe you should go on walks and eat a lil better before judging other people's walks, ok?
