This video saved me from having to make a $200 emergency service call, and kept my pregnant wife warm tonight. Can't thank you enough! Keep up the great work!
That unit looks like it was just installed. Might be time to get rid of the beast. Something a little smaller and reliable and cheaper to fix! Thanks for video Steven!

Use carb cleaner and a wire brush for that end cone, it helps out a lot, also put a new strainer and replace the oil filter at the tank. Finish it off with a combustion analysis to make sure everything is good. If it’s annually those things definitely needs to be replaced. It’s not just cleaning the end cone and changing the nozzle. That’s not a proper “annually service” Otherwise good video, I just think you should’ve showed more in the video other than just changing the nozzle.
That's right. But I have a big view port and just set the flame by eye. I have been having an issue with getting a DELEVAN nozzle to burn clean. HAGO Semi Solid pattern .85 60 SS work OK. Carlin 99FRD. Having Issues with the pressure gage needle fluctuatng fast between 90 and 110psi. and get a yellow white flame when that happens. Do you think that airs getting in to the feed line or a partially blocked oil feed line causing that? Sandy
@@sandyshoremann7524 make sure you have the correct size nozzle. Make sure the pump pressure is to factory settings adjust slightly if needed. Don’t over do it. Make sure all your filters are clean and not plugged. Make sure the Oil jet line from the pump to the nozzle assembly is not plugged. There are air vents on the burner. If it’s too much air or not enough it could cause problems. That’s when a combustion analyzer would come in handy. If it’s set incorrectly it could be dangerous. Also make sure your electrodes are set correctly. If you’re not sure always contact a oil burner technician. I work out of Leominster MA.

I had my riello burner serviced and the technician said to remove the air shutter and just leave it open, what effect does it have? He charged me extra to remove the air shutter, $135. Was I just scammed? Did he just do it so he can earn more? He said it the air shutter has some oil and will fail. I am afraid if the air shutter is removed from the burner it might have some blow back and fill the basement with CO and poison us. Please comment, thanks
So Steven, you showed the turbine head of the nozzle assembly, and it was caked with soot, along with the electrodes and insulators. Next clip you're installing it. Did you not brush and spray it clean before putting it back in? You then put the control box back in place with your oily gloves and left it dirty. It looked brand new before that. Then you showed something rattling like crazy. Those things would drive me nuts. Come on man.
Do these burners all use the same nozzle? I'm trying to buy an update kit and change all filters and screens and nozzle. Any help is much appreciated. I have the rielo 40 f5.
Get the model number off the Riello burner and the Boiler make , model number and GPH of oil . Contact the Riello tech line . There are also charts online . We were having this serviced by a large company . They had installed two different size nozzles over the years . According to Riello , neither was correct . I first became suspicious when consulting the chart . I am now doing it myself . The " this should work " or " this is what's on the truck " doesn't cut it . They were both undersized . Beware of experts who know more than manufacturer .
Most people have oil or gas Electric heat would cost a small fortune not to mention around here most houses only have 200amp 120/240 single phase service and to heat a small house would draw at least 125 amps or 30kw, So let’s burn the fuel to boil the Water to make the steam to burn more fuel to superheat the steam to drive the turbine to spin an alternator to feed the power into a transformer to step it up to run it down miles of cable into more transformers to step it down multiple times and than turn it back to heat you know that every step has losses or you can burn were you need the heat
How do you figure that ? Nothing wrong with oil fired units, as long as they are maintained. Good warm heat, this year the price per gallon is down, so it is very economical.
@@Trump985 Most heat pumps can pump more heat into the building than was in the fuel to drive the power plant producing the electricity. An electric heat pump would be cheaper than burning the fuel on site in that case.

My boiler doesn't have a bleed valve , just a bolt , is something extra needed to bleed air ?
Hi Steve, what do you think which oil filter type is better to have for home oil furnace, Cartridge type or turn on filter type ,K10 type ?
Gotta kick the can down the road for the old service truck mama!!

I feel for the people that have to use oil for heat it's the most expensive way to heat electricity would be far cheaper than oil.
John Chambers , How did you come to that conclusion? 👷🏻
Actually in most of New England, oil is cheaper than electricity.
Electric rates are stupid high up here.

What a noisy furnace! Damn thing sounds like it's falling apart!
It's the power venter not the furnace.
