Me gusto muchísimo ver mi pueblito el cual de cariño llamo El Imperio ya que para mi lo es. Más de 30 años acá te hacen apreciar más lo que tenías. Yo vivo en Miami y aunque es bonito y todo, no es lo mío pero uno aprende a acostumbrarse.
I moved there in 2014 to care for a relative, stayed through Maria, and finally left in 2020. I am the youngest of 8 and the only one not born in P.R. but visited as a child with my Mom. She felt that the experiences of the sights and sounds of Navidad and 3 Kings and local traditions would connect me to Island. I still carry those experiences with me today and share them 😆with whoever will listen.
It sounds like you have great memories of P.R, I have similar memories of Cuba but I love going to Puerto Rico with my husband since he is from there. It reminds me of my country.
I keep telling everybody that Puerto Rico that it is a wonderful place to visit. at least 2 weeks. I was born and raised in the US, but as a preteen, my Mom took me back to experience life and traditions there, which to that day I still carry. I miss some Coquito.
