Right and really wished he would of done then next Batman movie after returns bc originally he was and same for Michael on playing Batman and I remember as a kid I watched Batman 89 and Batman returns 92 in theaters but when the next two came out my parents asked me and my brother did we want to go and watch and we both declined bc even tho as kids we knew something wasn’t right by watching the trailers on tv I mean at the time we didn’t know Tim didn’t come back to film the next 2 but seeing a different actor on the third and even on the 4th and how cartoony it looked compared to the first 2 we were like nope we’re good and to this day I still haven’t watched Batman forever and Batman & robin but I will say I’ve seen bits and pieces on tv but I’m actually thinking about checking them out now out of curiosity bc I just watched the first 2 on HBOMAX and I see those on their as well..

Bob Kane AND Bill Finger, not just one or the other. Bob Kane didn't come up with the idea of Batman, give it to Bill Finger, then just disappear, he was involved the entire time. Bill Finger never got the recognition and respect he was owed, but throwing Bob Kane under the bus isn't helping anyone.

@@BayHarbo Well, it was a silly fear. I had a very blessed childhood, in which there was nothing to reasonably fear, so my brain selected random and very specific things to be afraid of--certain photographs in books (the Elephant Man, the bones of "Lucy," etc.) Such irrational fears are a luxury--many people, sadly including children, face actual scary, dangerous situations and people every day. :/

Burton was adamant about not repeating elements from the first film in this one. The Joker had already been the suave elegant-dressed gangster and even wore The Penguin’s trademark top hat at one point. They took the idea of him being freakish in appearance and ran with it and developed a character that could stand in it’s own right.

I found the characterization of Danny DeVito's take on The Penguin to be too dark and disturbing for me. If it were up to me, I would have cast Bob Hoskins for the role of Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin if the Batman films of the 90s were made a lot better with Michael Keaton still as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Tim Burton as an executive producer (not as the director), & Dennis O'Neil as a consultant. But maybe in another universe, Danny DeVito would have been the best casting choice to portray The Penguin in a different kind of Batman movie.
