They had this book in Lidls discount section , they had a good few of her books actually - they were so discounted and I still strolled on by True story.
"Written for people who don't read books" Omg 1000% this. There's NO WAY anyone who thinks this writing is "good" can possibly be a wide reader (or much of a reader at all)! Call me a book snob all you like, but I stand by this statement lol.
There are A LOT of authors I feel like could fall into the “writes books for people who don’t read” and I might get hate for this but Sarah J Mass is one of them I’ll die on this hill. I do lump Colleen Hoover and SJM together in that sense and NO ONE can convince me otherwise. My dad was an English professor for college so I do unfortunately have some standards because my dad is a book snob and he sadly passed it down. I would say I’m sorry but I’m not 😬😬
@eligreene2898 oh 1000% SJM is one of these authors lol! I'm showing my age here, but I remember when Twilight and 50 Shades of Grey came out and everyone was going wild over them. I read them and couldn't believe how poorly written they were, and pretty much from then on I've steered clear of super popular/hyped up books. For those who have been exposed to a lot of good writing, a poorly written book will stick out like a sore thumb.
@@spinstercatlady girl me too I was there for the twilight saga and I even read them as a teen I literally waited in line at B&N for HOURS much to my dads chagrin(this word means distress and embarrassment for my not first English speakers) just to be like wow that was okay I guess. Am I bitter still? Maybe it’s been a long time but still (I’m 32 for reference)
Same. Even if I have absolutely nothing on my tbr (lmao like that’ll ever happen) I’d rather just choose something at random off my bookshelves even if I’ve already read it a million times, than ever read something from her.
Fifty shades of grey is the worst and most embarrassing “representation” of the BDSM world and I will die on that hill. But also I agree with your theory and I think you’re on to something here
@@VzoZelYes, I wouldn't just say that. He was accused of sexually harassing a minor. The person involved posted screenshots and Colleen dismissed it in a private FB group.
I’ve never and will never read a CoHo book but I’ve watched so many videos of people roasting her books, especially this one, and this is probably my favorite review I’ve watched so far. I need you to continue to hate read and do reviews for us this was so entertaining 😂
My sister who is a librarian talks about how all the librarians she works with hate this author and discuss the Colleen Hoover Bot that churns out these stories 😂
Definitely not my type of book but I was going to subject myself to it to see what all the hoopla was about. Thank you for giving me this beautifully entertaining video. I’ve never returned an audible book and got my credit back so fast lmao!! Now to find a new horror book ❤
I've read November 9 and the first two books in her teacher student romance series and I haven't seen red like that in a long time. I have to think of my blood pressure
My neighborhood did anonymous Halloween baskets (boo baskets) and the person who made my basket put a Colleen Hoover book in my basket… I was like well that’s terrifying for sure. (Keeping in mind I submitted a form of things I like and said Horror/Thriller books… not sure where Colleen Hoover fits in there). I’ve never read her books and I never will.
I’ve never read one of her books and have no intention of doing so but I really want her to respond to this video and try to defend this garbage. I think it would be hilarious!
I remember starting verity and dnfed after 5 pages. When the mfc witnesses a car crash and describes the person's head being squished like the popping of a grape! I couldn't take anything she said serious after that
I truly do believe and agree that her books are for the people who read maybe 1 book a year and never pick up anything but maybe some SJM or whatever else is popular and once they finish the book, they count it as a win well because they haven't read a book since like high school lol but also I think hate reading probably has a factor too as too as to why she somehow is still popular these years later
Whenever Colleen Hoover books are bought up, I think of a meme that said “No matter how tough life gets, at least I’ve never read a Colleen Hoover book.” I added Colleen Hoover to my “nod politely and smile” when people say they read but, it’s like self help.
6:18 I’m straight and baby girl I’m with you! Ain’t nobody want a man like that 😅 alsoooo can we have a moment for the NAILS?! 😍😍 absolutely gorgeous as usual 🫶🏻
Haha, I started one of her books and DNF'd it after 30 percent. I remember how offended I was by how bad it was. I didn't know before that I was going to hate it. Also, you are so funny, I love your roasts. And all your other videos.
This book gets credit for getting me out of a decade-long reading slump about two years ago, but only because it was an easy read (and someone just handed it to me to read), not because it was good. It’s the most comically-bad book, but it did get people reading with all of the hype.
4:20 oh Lily's first and last name isnt just bad. Its her middle name too. Its blossom..Lily Blossom Bloom the florist. I read that and im like are you fucking joking? Be for real right now Lol
I watched the preview for the movie. Not really knowing anything about anything. Now I'm just picturing Andrew Garfield being that guy. I'm like, why Andrew? You were Spider-Man. WHY play a piece of cum stain? I was unaware that the movie was based on a book. More importantly, this book, a "Don't worry sweetheart, he says sorry after beating you", book. Thanks for taking one for the team. Sorry about the time you're never getting back.
I enjoyed the book and of course there are some really silly parts like Rhil's rich sister working the register at the floral shop, yea bc that would never really happen...but I read books the way I watch TV, some books/TV shows are incredible with fantastic writing..they win awards. Other books/shows are meant to entertain and they don't win award. I will happy to read/watch trash occasionally lol. I think if you grew up in an abusive household or been in an abusive relationship there is a lot you can relate to. As for the "I want to fuck you"...not gunna, in my single days, one night stands...just saying..LOL!
I did not like this book at all.. especially how Just Keep Swimming was over used that annoyed me. Abuse was over glorified and I hated that too. I am not going to see the movie either. Ugly Love is the only Colleen Hoover book I liked. I still need to read Verity.
Lol. Ok I did read it 2 years ago. I enjoyed it, sorry not sorry. I hated the movie and everything surrounding it. To be fair, the reason I still like it because it helped set me up to getting on my reading journey. Since then, I’ve been reading a lot more in general. My book collection went from non-existent to collecting over 600 books. So I can’t hate on it. Lol. If theres any book/s its Twilight. I regret reading and watching those movies.
I went to a used book store once and they had her in the horror section.
Me if I ever own a bookstore 😂
😆😆😆😆
They had this book in Lidls discount section , they had a good few of her books actually - they were so discounted and I still strolled on by
True story.
Lol 😂
🤣🤣🤣
I once had a car door slammed shut on my hand, and it was still less painful than reading this book.
Reading through the comments:
Ive found my people ❤
I’ve only read Verity by her. I’ll never read another of her books.
And you're so smart for that, tiff ✨️❤️
Verity has been the only really good book she’s written.
"Written for people who don't read books"

I've gladly never read a Colleen Hoover book. Nor will I. I have no desire to watch the movie with Blake Lively either. Lol. Love this roast. 😊
You took the words right out of my mouth!
Same. Even if I have absolutely nothing on my tbr (lmao like that’ll ever happen) I’d rather just choose something at random off my bookshelves even if I’ve already read it a million times, than ever read something from her.
I BEEN WAITIN FOR THIS ONE. TURN IT UP
The second you said “eliminate Colleen from the publishing world” …I liked.
I never watch book reviews but this is the funniest review I've ever watched.
My theory is that the people who read Colleen Hoover are the same people who read Fifty Shades of Gray and thought it was hawt.
My mom likes 50 shades 😅 she's also 66 years old, and likes them weird sexy nasty books 😂 I like the gory nasty books. 🤷♀️😂
Fifty shades of grey is the worst and most embarrassing “representation” of the BDSM world and I will die on that hill. But also I agree with your theory and I think you’re on to something here
FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT OMG all i see is them people loving this book and giving it 5 stars and i'm like b*TCH WHERE
The only person who I gave a pass to was one BookTuber who was in an abusive marriage. She said that it showed how hard it is to leave.
"Colleen are you braindead?" I said the same thing when I tried to read one of her books hahha
“I feel like you don’t count” made me cackle
ELLEN?!?!!!!!! THAT IS SO UNEXPECTED I SPIT OUT MY DRINK
Can we also eliminate Frieda McFadden? 😂
Feel like she writes these books to see what women are into it so she can reassure her abusive son that he has options 🥰
This has got to be it!
Did her son do something? Because if not, calling him abusive just because is her son is as bad as this book is.
@@VzoZelYes, I wouldn't just say that. He was accused of sexually harassing a minor. The person involved posted screenshots and Colleen dismissed it in a private FB group.

Jordaline without guardrails, I’m here for it dude!
You’re a better person that I could ever be Jordaline…there’s no way I could read anything from her lol
I had to take one for the team 😞 getting the word out is so important
When I tell you this was EXACTLY what I needed today
Colleen Hoover is such great roast material, I always enjoy my favourite booktubers having a go at her!
It’s a video about books that aren’t too scary for me! 😆 happy to be welcomed back (briefly) to the channel- this is a gift 🙏🏼
Jordaline this made my day and its everything I needed and more. It's amazing. Congrats on this great video.
I could not love this type of video more. I'm warming my hands over this roast.
My sister who is a librarian talks about how all the librarians she works with hate this author and discuss the Colleen Hoover Bot that churns out these stories 😂
You look like the queen of the underworld and I'm so into that 🖤🖤🖤
I love it! I couldn't stop laughing! You're amazing! COHO should be banned... hahaha
I'm obsessed with the way you say "heterosexuality" LOL
Not me immediately clicking because I know this will be a roast! I’m not disappointed 😂😂 don’t ever go back jordaline, it’s a trap 😂😂
I need a Sodergren pallet cleanser after this
Definitely not my type of book but I was going to subject myself to it to see what all the hoopla was about. Thank you for giving me this beautifully entertaining video. I’ve never returned an audible book and got my credit back so fast lmao!! Now to find a new horror book ❤

Freida McFadden roast next pls!!
This is the best review I've ever heard in my life 😂
My neighborhood did anonymous Halloween baskets (boo baskets) and the person who made my basket put a Colleen Hoover book in my basket… I was like well that’s terrifying for sure. I didn’t read any Hoover and don’t plan to but at this point I have watched so many roast reviews of this book and I’m living for it 😅
I remember starting verity and dnfed after 5 pages. When the mfc witnesses a car crash and describes the person's head being squished like the popping of a grape! I couldn't take anything she said serious after that
I'm always here for a hoover roast
I truly do believe and agree that her books are for the people who read maybe 1 book a year and never pick up anything but maybe some SJM or whatever else is popular and once they finish the book, they count it as a win well because they haven't read a book since like high school lol but also I think hate reading probably has a factor too as too as to why she somehow is still popular these years later
I'm here for all the roasts!

Not the lobotomization 🤣🤣🤣 bahaha
Idk if that’s a real word but it sounded right
I've never known any movie that Blake Lively starred in that was good, so that was the first clue that this was a terrible book.
OMG 😂 NOT YOU MAKING ME SLIGHTLY (very slightly cause I’m low key *shrug*) ASHAMED OF LIKING JAMES PATTERSON!! 😂
Haha, I started one of her books and DNF'd it after 30 percent. I remember how offended I was by how bad it was. I didn't know before that I was going to hate it.
Also, you are so funny, I love your roasts. And all your other videos.
Absolutely hilarious! I laughed and nodded in agreement at the same time. Love your nails!
The way you called out my undeveloped 2016 brain 😂 I used to unironically read her but some of that shit had me nearly throwing the books at the wall
This is exactly how I felt reading this book.
I've been waiting for this review since your Verity vlog!!!! It lives rent free in my head😆
This book gets credit for getting me out of a decade-long reading slump about two years ago, but only because it was an easy read (and someone just handed it to me to read), not because it was good. It’s the most comically-bad book, but it did get people reading with all of the hype.
Best review 😂😂 and can we talk about those earrings?! 🤩😍
I laughed so hard at this video. Thank you so much for semi wasting your time for this flaming bag of shit book. ❤😂
This was brilliant 😂
I don't know if you've read the house of leaves, but can you tell us about that book? I want to hear your input/opinion about that book.
I was just thinking James Patterson should be included in this hate - then like you did! Thank you .
My mum loves her and wants to read more of her books and I'm like WHYYYYY??? There are so many good books out there!! Read something GOOD please!!!!
4:20 oh Lily's first and last name isnt just bad. Its her middle name too. Its blossom..Lily Blossom Bloom the florist. I read that and im like are you fucking joking? Be for real right now Lol
Best Review Ever!!!!!!!!!!
It‘s very refreshing to see another CoHo hater. 😂
This video was so funny 😂
I'll never read from Colleen Hoover 💀😭
Thank you for your service 👏
Loved this video 😂😂
I disliked all of Colleen Hoover s books what two i tried lol including the one you are roasting 👍
I'm enjoying June's Journey Thank you 😊🦋
I don't know how her books even get published.
Yaaaaaaassssssssssss🖤
😂 I needed a laugh today, this vid was perfect timing. I'm definitely passing on this book!
hahaha the way i laughed so hard this video was amazing and I love it
I’m stunned this garbage is in print. It’s repulsive how she promotes domestic abuse.
I watched the preview for the movie. Not really knowing anything about anything. Now I'm just picturing Andrew Garfield being that guy. I'm like, why Andrew? You were Spider-Man. WHY play a piece of cum stain? I was unaware that the movie was based on a book. More importantly, this book, a "Don't worry sweetheart, he says sorry after beating you", book. distracting myself from the atrocity of this book by being mesmerised by your make up
I love her books but I love you more! 🤣🤣🤣

This made my day 😂😂
im sat.
Colleen Hoover not for me most definitely
I wish you could have saved me from this crap a couple years ago. Hahaha
Lily Bloom could have been a cool pony OC name. Not so much for a human character
Hi Jordaline! 🩷
Hi angel! 🥰✨️
nails nails nails ❤
Great appetizer for roasting the worse books of the year!
do the movie review
Hey Jordaline! Love you!❤
Hi Salina 🥰
I love your makeup & nails here. 😍🫶🥹 (Edited for the nails bc i am an idiot and didnt see them beauties 😍😍)
