It’s a “Panga” I believe. This is the first time I’ve seen you guys so I subscribed, this is great! I’m so glad you do enough research to catch me up to where you are and what the historical relevance is of where you are. I didn’t realize it was so polluted!

Thanks for letting us know. Panga hey? Would never have guessed that’s what it’s called 😅 We’re so glad you enjoyed the episode. It was pretty shocking to see that amount of plastics washed up on the shore after such a short period of time! Thanks for subscribing 🤙🏼

Nice part of the world, Mother Nature ad volcanoes are awesome hey! Great to that Indonesia has greater controls with climate change than Australia and the beaches are so immaculate. Great drone shots buddy, not every day we get see an active volcano, though there is a shit load happening over in Iceland. Thank you for an entertaining episode. Take care, be safe and god bless. 😇👍🙏🇦🇺⛵️

hi guy's really enjoying your chanel, discovered you today, we leave Mackay December to head north to indo on our way to Thailand, just watched your crossing the Cape episode, can I ask, did you just decide stuff it we are going to indo, or did you wait around a while for insurance then head, cheers Bernie

Hey Bernie, thanks for watching and welcome to the crew! Yeah, we managed to save the insurance money before leaving and convinced our representative to take 6 monthly installments instead of the whole year. If we can give you one piece of advice it would be to head to Indonesia directly from Thursday Island. Our gulf crossing was horrible and if we had our time again we would definitely give that experience a miss. Congratulations on taking the leap! Which route are you taking in Indonesia?

thankyou for the reply, we have been sailing east coast Australia for the past 4 years and been prepping for 2 years working and getting ready for our journey, same as you we plan to check into Saumlaki and we're set on clearing out of Horn Island or Gove, clearing in to Saumlaki, from there we have finally decided to head west as we desperately want to get to Thailand, but they tell us we will fall in love with Indo

@@bernieandpaul Indonesia is a beautiful cruising ground but can also be very challenging at times. There are so many fishing boats and obstructions (so I would avoid night sailing) and a lot of pollution (so be prepared for that). Be prepared to motor a lot as well. The Komodo's are incredible so don't miss them! I believe visas are a much simpler process now so that's good. Thailand is good but very busy and the visibility isn't great unless you get right out to Surin or Similan Islands (Similan can be expensive). Good luck with all the preparations guys and stay in touch. Fair winds friends!

Awesome place, but yeah, doesn't look safe. And the surrounding environs don't look clean. But looks like you managed to escape with some good footage.

Thanks Frank, You're right mate we got lucky to get some great footage out of it especially landing the drone in the fishing boat otherwise all would have been lost. thanks for the message and support mate. Much appreciated
