What i don’t understand is people calling him useless and a bad MC. Yuji has literally only known about the existence of CE like 6 months ago in the current timeline. Its moreso the lack of consistent presence and prolonged absence that hinders Yuji because of how much the ensemble of important casts are in play. Tho personally I dont mind how the mc isnt always around other players in the stories
I have been saying this for ages now. Same with some other people too. They act like he's lost every single fight in the series or that he has' not done anything important. Especially in the most recent arcs.
The culling games is like one of the only arcs where we see characters like Hikari, Maki and Yuta properly get time to reintroduce/develop or display their character. Yuji shared the spot light and people complained. And i guess that if it was just focused on Yuji, people would complain about "the side cast getting no love"

@As-ep8bx naruto is also an entirely different universe and he has known about ninjas his whole life as he was born into a ninja world, naruto was also gifted with lots of plot, yuji hasnt known about anything jujutsu for any longer than 8 months in the current timeline.

Yuji repeats the story of Amanai, he will die surrounded by his loved ones unlike Amanai who died close to an acquitance, Amanai did not fuse with Tengen but Yuji will fuse with Sukuna again.
Besides all the darkness Yuji will forever come back to hunt them down, he cursed himself to do so eternally, he is a hunter that's who he is.
Imagine yuji giving a good death, whilst that he became a vengeful spirit capable of using black flash. A cursed spirit capable giving someone a good death.
Itadori is really powerful tbh. He is in the top 8 I reckon. Close to the level of Yuta, but under him, y'know? I mean he used reverse curse technique and can use countless Black Flash's, he is also the most PHYSICALLY powerful character in the entire series. And he almost can't lose, he can just switch bodies and call it a draw.

@@reaps2661 he can use Blackflash at will, Nanami stated thst people who can use it at will are extremely powerful, and can take down Special Grade cursed spirits if they train themselves. On top of that he was still extremely strong when his cursed energy got taken away, and he CAN'T lose due to his cursed technique, which is switching bodies, ultimately ending a battle in a draw.

Idk, sukuna using his own body to kill ppl in Shibuya, being so weak he got his best friend in the same sit. Plus him killing his sister. Is stressful as a best friend. Plus he killed his brothers by is own hands.
Megumi had an unstable background, and a technique Sukuna wanted. Overall his suffering is focused on his relationship with his sister, which while sad, is not comparable to what Yuji has had to go through.
Megumi was raised by Gojo and understands the world he lives in. Yuji in 7 months has literally everything taken from him, his will to fight for pure purposes, his autonomy, and his ability to actually make the decision to kill other human beings, and beings close enough they hit Yuji as if they were human.
He watches junpei, Nobara, and nanami die by Mahito hands, had Sukuna rip out his heart to force a binding vow Yuji didn’t know about, and watched Sukuna take his best friends body, losing him, and his purpose. He’s no longer able to contain Sukuna, his main motivation that got him into jujutsu tech is now null, since he can no longer save others with his own death, he’s been killed more than once, beaten down and forced into a colder person than any 15 year old should ever have to be.
Sukuna literally made Yuji watch him kill dozens if not hundreds of people simply to see him suffer, and seeing Sukuna in Megumis body is definitely part of that

I think you're forgetting about how much Subaru suffered as an MC. In terms of JJK, Itadori Yuji has definitely suffered the most but I don't think in terms of all anime, Yuji has suffered the most.

I really laugh when someone says that Yuji's pain is nothing compared to other Shounen characters, yeah, Yuji doesn't have childhood trauma, but That can determine that a character who did not suffer childhood trauma, was not abused, was not orphaned, did not witness horror scenes blah blah... will not be able to compare to other characters had a traumatic past as a child. Yuji had a peaceful childhood, but that can't change the fact that he doesn't have parents, he used to have very few friends maybe due to that situation, and yes Yuji's grandfather passed away when he was 15 years old. His life took a complete turn when his previous friends foolishly took the possessed item out of curiosity, he met Megumi, the curse appeared, bravely protected others but at the same time became a tool of the Jujutsu soccer world just because of his kindness even though he saved good people, Well then he faced the death penalty, he fought and was placed in situations of deep moral conflict, fear, anger, despair, but still had to keep getting up and moving on, Shibuya incident happened and everything pushed him to the end, he became a murderer through no fault of his own, was shocked by the loss of important people, witnessed his friend having his body robbed, witnessing his teacher's death through the screen, humiliated but still having to accept the truth about the dog-blood family that created him as a vessel, a weapon for others, and maybe he that gradually realized his bond with Sukuna was greater than the vessel, but was tired and hurt to the point of accepting it, and so much more, all in just over a month before that and half a year into the present, he still had to continue fighting to the point where death became the only way out and could not be chosen, all of these series of events were enough to defeat even the MC are people older than Yuji, or have a more traumatic past than him, causing them to turn darker. And the emotional consequences that Yuji was left with can still be clearly seen and deeply felt till now, and now he has to face the unacceptable way the Jujutsu world treats Gojo, when his trust in the remaining people, even when Yuji clearly feels the plight of the Jujutsu world how dark and broken and seemed uncomfortable with that. He hasn't said a word since the death of his only relative - Choso.... I don't even mention Subaru, Natsume, Gut (half of the current suffering is almost enough to make readers want him dirty buffed), Thor,. etc.... or most recently Mitsuri in Demon Slayer. Whether or not they actually have a painful backstory , childhood trauma can still be tragic characters, even worse later on, and must find a way to overcome it.

I love how in these comments people just says about Subaru or Guts beeing the MCs who suffered the most, then i will say the one to me who suffered more: Kamijou Touma.
Touma even from childhood got bullied because of his misfortune, and that got in a way that a man in debts tried to kill him thinking it would solve his problems, to make things worse he got hit in an attack that made him FORGET EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE.
Now to the part of his suffering, in the New Testament light novel(in which the light novel is better than the anime), he got put in a endless cycle of deaths by a goddess wanting his power that resides in his right hand for who knows how much years, dying more than 500 million times, then to see a created world where everyone of his friends are happy without them, later he begin to fight her for his selfish reasons for more thousand of years, only to die one last time, and save and protect this same goddess from the entire world because he sympathized with her past.
So yes, Touma got through some worse things everyone could get into, like a death loop
