Porgy & Bess by Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald was my first record back in 1997 when I was 10 years old. I'm so in love with this song in particular. But the whole record itself is a truly classic masterpiece & gem. I'm very thankful for it!
That must have seemed new-fangled back in '97.
It's a used one I bought in a second hand vinyl shop back in 1997. It comes in a cardboard box. I still have it!
A masterclass of swing. Absolute masterpiece!
One of the most swinging tunes in jazz. Can't get enough of it. Ella and Louis at their best!
I loved this song when I was a kid. (1970's). brings back so much great memories. thanks ella and louie
Eins meiner Lieblingslieder. Und Gershwin finde ich sowieso gut.
That's my song forevermore!
Swiiiinnngggiiinngg jazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!
This reminds me of "Nice Work If You Can Get It"
I got this recording on an LP, and this one DOES seem a bit sped-up. Love Ella's refrain in particular, and especially the way those strings come it! Don't remember who the arranger was on this album, but he was good... very polished.
why do i love this style so much
because it's classic and amazing.
You and me both!
@@MoonGrrrlI agree lol sorry im all lat
@@finlybenyunes8385 love it
@@jmanza92 Swing's the thing!
Great !
It's a great arrangement, but I realized Louis messed up one of the lyrics. It's supposed the be "the folks with plenty of plenty/Got a lock on the door", but Louis said "plenty of nuttin'" again there. Ella got it right though!
haa
that was excellent
Thank you, enjoyed! :)
My pleasure! ♫♫ ʝαʑ ♫♫
cool, this is a different take!
This us the outright jammmmmm.....bouncin'
Really great arrangement with two of the top jazz singers ever. too bad Louis got the lyrics wrong. Correct lyrics are "folks with plenty o plenty, got the lock on the door. He sings "folks with plenty o nuthin, got the lock on the door. Dang it.
This recording is sped up.
My LP seems slower than this. I wonder if mine is slow, or yours is fast, lol
