I like how you always handle curly hair so gently. Curly hair gets tangled and the detangling needs to be done gently to avoid hair damage I love how you take your time to do this step correctly.

So, a few things that may help the next person you choose as a model who has ethnic hair: I am also a multi racial woman with the same hair. And here are a few tips that are hopefully useful.... The fairy knots you were consumed with towards the end, you actually caused during the parting process. Curly hair should be saturated and coated with a conditioner or detangler with lots of slip. A paddle brush or denman brush should be used to detangle. NEVER detangle dry! ALWAYS work in sections until all hair is knot free. Do Not use that type of comb to detangle curlies. The balls at the ends actually do more harm than good. We only use those combs once the hair is straightened. What I did appreciate, is how gentle you were with her hair. And how patient you were when trying to get out those fairy knots. I know those aren't easy. All-in-all, it's experience and understanding that some hair takes a little extra care. Takeaways: 1) Before you even start, the wetter the better. The more slip, the better. 2) Never use that comb. Mixed hair is something else! I normally detangle my daughter’s hair with a pre wash detangler gel, wash it in 4 twitst sections , wash it out really good, open the twists and apply conditioner and comb it out then twist it back again! Wash again, and still I would have tangles and nots while styling or braiding the hair 🤷🏽♂️ believe me it was worse before I started using the pre wash detangling gel and the 4 twists washing method. Her hair is thick, long, very curly and healthy. But I can’t wait until when she’s old enough to to do her own hair, their are no black stylist near me. You tube has taught me a lot. Sunday afternoons are hair washing days. And my! am I always dreading that! But am always happy with the finished result. Mixed hair is more high maintaining than 4 B and I have 4 B hair texture but in dread locks.Kudos to her for having such healthy hair and maintaining it.

The hair parting was PAINFUL to watch. When detangling you have to start from THE ENDS AND WORK YOUR WAY UP. Get the ends wet too, not just the roots, then use a wide tooth comb to detangle first and then part the hair. If not the ends will tangle then when you pull it apart the hair is susceptible to snapping off when its yanked apart. Then when you kept trying to separate the hair, you kept making more knots on the ends of her hair in different areas! And you need a Wide Tooth comb to detangle her hair and it has to be done in SMALL SECTIONS. You did not detangle her hair, you TANGLED IT. This was the WORST.
The second one was dreadful that's sad that her hair was cared for like that my daughter's hair is like this and that just isn't cared for the correct way. 😔
