+Sakura Spring we sure appreciate you watching this special video my friend. We had a great time and we really did film this on january 27, our birthday!
Great segment! Great friends! Patrick is a looker for sure! What's nice is that you get just enough and it encourages people to go check out these areas or even just go and visit Japan.
I know I'm wandering around in the past videos, but I haven't seen this one. You know I love your walk-abouts and this one with Patrick is a happy one. Loved the peacefulness of the temples, the foot bath, and of course nyour shopping. Patrick catches on to the soba eating really fast and it looked delicious. The end with brother Satoshi was stupendous and his dance moves are legendary. Thanks again. JC
I loved to see this beautiful traditional town, very quaint indeed, and those shops, they are amazing, so much better than expensive shops, and department stores. Thank you Shinichi and Satoshi, for taking me to yet another beautiful place. Arigatou gozaimasu ❤
Thanks to you, now they do! I have written it in my Japan Visit calendar and hope to visit in April 2017. Is a Sunday (the 9th) a good day or will it be very crowded? Should I wait for Monday (the 10th)?
You guys have the most awesome friends, hands down to anyone else on youtube or in any other type of social platform by far. You've got the kind of friends a lot of us wish we could have. If you started a channel with you and your friends hanging out like this one, I wouldn't think twice about subscribing to it. Id even delete others to make room for it if I had to. That tea shop was one of the coolest things I think Ive ever seen on one of your videos. I adore those little tea pots. I bet they would be awesome to hold other things like spices and seasonings. Great adventure, thanks for letting us tag along with you.
+NYC Emma aww thanks so much for the kind words. My friends are very special to me. But you know. all of you are special to me. Seriously! Thanks for watching!
Happy Birthday to you both! Wait, you mean you aren't twins?? LOL Great video, I love Kawagoe! Can't wait to visit again as well as Tokyo, from end March or April!
Very beautiful place so zen! Lol your friends buying out the store was funny! Those tea containers were beautiful! I would love to see Satochi after a few beers! I bet he really would be fun to be with and would dance all over the place lol!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! How wonderful. I want to go to this place, warming the feet and having some warm drinks sounds amazing. SO MUCH TEA! I love it. SATOSHIS DANCE!!!! hahahaha Brilliant.
Happy Birthday to you both. Would like to seen a bit more of candy Lane. Oh well next time? Glad you had a fantastic birthday and it's even better with your friends and people you love. Happy Birthday Guys. Xxxxxx
Shinichi HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you and your friend!! I'm so glad you guys had so much fun! I'm a total tea fanatic (I even worked at a tea house, and was also friends with two 'aunties' in Little Tokyo that ran a traditional tea shop and taught me!) so seeing that tea shop had me drooling! lolol! I sure miss good Japanese tea!! And those beans...I want the akatsuki beans covered in sugar! Heheh! Those sound amazing!
+KeelyCanVlog I myself (shinichi) love tea. In fact, I don't drink coffee because it gives me heart palpitations. This shop really has one of the best teas on the planet. So good!
Right!? I like coffee just fine in small amounts, but all of my friends love coffee. I love tea and would choose it over coffee any day (and do)!!! What's your favorite tea shinichi? :D
+KeelyCanVlog My favorite tea is probably good quality green tea. In the evenings I prefer herbal teas. I especially like Celestial Seasonings because of the variety. I like the Yogi brands too but they are expensive here so I hardly ever buy those. My favorite Chinese tea is Pu-erh Tea. I also love Azuki Tea ( dried red beans). How about you?
I've never had Azuki Tea but I would love to try it! I like sweet things! hahaha...ha...anyway! Good quality green tea IS the best isn't it!?!? You know, if you PM your address on twitter I can send you celestial tea! It's super cheap here, and I'd be MORE than happy to send you a care package! ;D My favorite tea is actually English Breakfast and Dajeeling. Er, but I also like Chocolate tea! That's a real thing and it's SOOO good, at least the brand I have is. Hehe!
KeelyCanVlog wow I have never heard of chocolate tea! that sounds amazing! Thanks so much for offering to send us some! We'll make sure to give you a shoutout in our video. our address is on our RUclips Homepage. If you click About, you'll see it on that page. Let me know if you can't find it. Thanks so much!
OMG!!! You guys! I want to try that tea, but would love to try the Maccha beans and the Ichigo. These would be great to share and do a vlog here in Kansas USA with my good friend his parents are from Japan but he was born here in the usa and has never been to Japan ever, and I have been wanting to let him experience food from his home country. His wife even wants to try things. UGH!! So Jealous of you guys, I want to live in Japan it is where my heart and soul yearn to be forever! Okay what were you drinking while soaking your feet??? So many places I want to see UGH!!! Love Satoshi's random Dance!!
+Tania LoNero so glad you enjoyed this one. Those beans are incredibly delicious and comes in so many flavors. Savory and sweet! I was drinking ginger tea. Satoshi had coffee. Cheers!
Thanks guys for the informative video. Any chance of listing locations of all these lovely shops/restaurants you have visited? We are going to Tokyo in 2 weeks and would love to visit this town, but worrying we might struggle without speaking Japanese! Thank you...
+littlewazzie hi there! Thanks so much for watching! So sorry we should have listed those places but didn't. Here's some advice that might help though. First, make sure to get a map at the station. They have english ones so you should have no problem. The bean shop is the first thing you see when you get to the old town area. You'll see a lady giving out samples outside the store. You really can't miss it. The place where we had tea is located inside a store that sells Japanese trinkets. There are a lot of those but this one is on the main street in the old area. It's located on the left of the street if you're coming from the station. You can't really see the cafe since it's located in the back of the place, but if you go through the store, you'll find it. Here's the link to their Japanese website. tsubaki-kura.jp/floorguide/ Finally the tea shop is at the end of the street. It's actually the very last store of the street so you won't miss it either. This will also be on your left. Actually all the stores we visited on this video is on the left side of the street. The temples we visited are all located on the tourist guide map that you can get at the station. Once again, sorry about the lack of info. I hope this helps!
Happy belated birthday, Shinichi and Patrick! Wishing you both all the best in your new year. My birthday is tomorrow: Hinamatsuri. I'm going to do a hanami at Descanso Gardens. Can't wait! I love your videos, but this one was extra special! Kawagoe looks so beautiful - the temples and foot bath. That must be heaven to soak your feet in hot water and drink tea. Gosh, I would have trouble restraining myself at the bean and tea stores. Thanks for your wonderful videos!
I've always wanted to go to Japan to view temples, although I'll have to journey there before I get my arm tattooed eventually. as usual, thank you for the wonderful footage. the charcoal flavored item sounded so unique, I wonder how it would have tasted? :)
Happy Birthday (I know I'm late, but maybe next year I'll be on time) That is such a beautiful place. The shops look very quaint and I'd really love to visit all of the candy shops for sure. Satoshi, I love your dance and very nice to see you Patrick!
That's sweet of you all, really. It's kind of rare that I get many comments back. I always try to leave comments on videos that I like, you all take so much time to make them for us to watch. That's the least the viewers can do to thank you for your time. I like your world...it gives me a virtual home away from home. I do spend so much time home alone, especially since my husband passed away sometimes I go stir crazy.
Susie LaLonde I'm so sorry to hear about your husband. My condolences. It's good to know that we can help you pass the time with our videos. We are here for you Susie. Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday.
Thank you, you are very kind. I wake up to your videos so every day that I can do that is a good day. This Sunday is such a rainy dreary day outside but inside it's very sunny with laughter and warmth. Hugs to you all!
Wow what a lovely trip! You guys look like brothers!! Our biggest regret was not having time to venture out of Tokyo for nearby day trips, but this also serves as a huge incentive for going back visit again! Those soybeans looked sooo yummy, especially the matcha ones 😍 What a beautifully traditional and well preserved town to visit, saving this for our next trip! Thanks so much for sharing this my friend! Can't wait to catch up with the rest of your videos!! 🙌🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Happy birthday to the both of you. :) I was there last September but only managed to visit the street area around the bell tower. We didn't have enough time.
I LOVE ashiyu!!! I've done that ever since a little girl....sadly I stopped doing it after I became a teenager. Not sure why....but now I'm starting to do it again!
hope you both had a very wonderful birthday!!! ;D looks like a very cool place to visit. ps. i love ur music selections!!!! pss. how old r u now? ;p (my guess is 36.)
Wow, that place is really beautiful. I really like how they preserved the original style of the buildings, yet it all looks good as new. Btw, i don't think that's genmaicha, looks more like kukicha or hojicha to me, but i may be wrong ;)
I wish Americans cared as much as Japanese do about cleanliness! They don't even wash hands in work places like hospitals when they're supposed to :) :(....anyway, thanks for showing us your trips guys! so strange to see Satoshi without his hat! And Satoshi's a great dancer.
At the temple I seen a symbol that looks like the TriForce from the Legend of Zelda games. Would anyone be so kind as to explain what that symbol actually is in this instance a briefly what it symbolizes? Always curious about things like that.
+Sakura Spring we sure appreciate you watching this special video my friend. We had a great time and we really did film this on january 27, our birthday!
Nooo, it's already over! I cannot wait to see more in the future. Happy Birthday to you both! I loved the little dance.
+Michelle R so happy you enjoyed this video. Satoshi's dance is so much fun! hehe
Great segment! Great friends! Patrick is a looker for sure! What's nice is that you get just enough and it encourages people to go check out these areas or even just go and visit Japan.

+Anna Banana sure! we can definitely do that.
Wow, that place is really beautiful. I really like how they preserved the original style of the buildings, yet it all looks good as new.
Btw, i don't think that's genmaicha, looks more like kukicha or hojicha to me, but i may be wrong ;)
+Carlos Vives actually you're right. It might be hojicha! I always get them mixed up. lol.
I'm really intrigued by the charcoal flavoured edible item ~~~!!
+Rickkye Gan I really can't describe charcoal, but it's supposed to have some kind of health benefits as well.
I wish Americans cared as much as Japanese do about cleanliness! They don't even wash hands in work places like hospitals when they're supposed to :) :(....anyway, thanks for showing us your trips guys! so strange to see Satoshi without his hat! And Satoshi's a great dancer.

Hi Shinichi and Satoshi, what is the name of the soba place?
Whats the name of this tea shop or where can I find it ?
At the temple I seen a symbol that looks like the TriForce from the Legend of Zelda games. Would anyone be so kind as to explain what that symbol actually is in this instance a briefly what it symbolizes? Always curious about things like that.
Patrick is good-looking.
