    One item I recall learning about the dust bowl aside from the drought - the modernization of the tractor, plow, and disk allowed greater areas to till for crops. What we didn’t know then was that very few inches of the ground need to be turned in order for crops to grow? Farmers went too deep and made it easier to blow away. Not sure if this is mentioned.

      That’s great information! I don’t remember seeing that, but it makes sense. It’s wild to think how far technology has come in such a short span of time. The dust bowl really wasn’t all that long ago.
