    Waiting for Meeple Source to come out with nice wooden burritos.

      I heard they were going to go the extra mile and make them hand-painted bricks instead. An original component requires and original re-representation.

    You do play with more than 15 cards. You use the leftover cards as 2 community piles for when you run out.

  • @lloyd2226
    @lloyd2226 4 года назад +26

    You are meant to make comunity piles in case you run out of cards. The point of the game is to keep moving

    Nice throw, and great face at the end Tom. Ha ha

    Indeed, how often do we get to throw burritos at our kids?

  • @PhillyWilly18

    ⚠️ One correction!! ⚠️
    After making the card piles in between each player, the rest of the cards are supposed to be split into two “community piles” and placed in the center of the table (the idea is to situate them so all players can reach at least one of the two community piles).
    If you’re moving fast and deplete the player-in-front-of-you’s discard pile, you’re supposed to draw from a center community pile and keep going! In other words, there should be no “waiting around for cards” as Tom incorrectly criticized the game for. Other than that one-admittedly pretty significant-error, I think everything else was accurate!
    Throw Throw Burrito clearly isn’t the most strategic or thought-requiring or -provoking game, but I feel it’s more fun than Tom indicates, especially at parties with lots of adult beverages being consumed if you catch my drift. I find that once everyone of legal drinking age has a good buzz going, the burrito dodgeball moments get MUCH more intense and hilarious. Just make sure to take this into account when deciding WHERE you’ll be playing the game! Having more room around the table usually results in much more dodging and diving and running around, and everyone seems to get more into it and have more fun when this is the case!

    I saw a version of this game where you have to collect 4 copies of a card before placing it down. So, did they change the rule to only needing 3 copies?

    • @Sam-vk8xd

    You put the remaining cards in two piles in the middle so the games doesn’t get held up and you can use all the cards

      The guy behind it runs an extremely popular web comic (The Oatmeal), his previous games weren't terrible (not my cup of tea), and low price point.

    I literally find that "game" offending my passion for games. Seriously? Throwing burritos?? Is this the best you can do?? Collecting sets of 3 identical cards??
    Why should I even buy this game?! This game make Exploding Kittens looks like a heavy euro game.
    And don't get me wrong, I can agree with the opinion that party games can be stupid and silly, but they need some kind of an original concept/mechanic/something else clever, that would impress me. Those squishy burritos are pure gimmick.
    I'd rather just go and buy another, much cheaper, squishy toy and throw it at my friends, and it would just as fun.
    What's next? Blow Blow Enchiladas??

    • @richardshort2001
      @richardshort2001 4 года назад +14

      I'd say dodgeball in the middle of a card game is a pretty original mechanic. It might still not be good, but it's certainly original.

    • @royi9919
      @royi9919 4 года назад

      @@richardshort2001 they could mix baseball or basketball or any other sport In the same way, because it's a random decision. How does burrito and dodgeball related? There is no real concept behind, it's a gimmick. They should put a little more thought behind the game instead of selling cheap eye candies.
      And you know what, let's say that bringing together burritos and dodgeball it's "originality", the other thing you do in the game is collecting sets of cards - another random and mindless decision.
      It's just like you give your little baby something to play with, because you know he is just a baby who doesn't really understand much.
      So they put all those random "mechanics" together and they call it a "game", and they expect people to pay for it.

      Not all games need to be deep. This is a casual game that appeals to a much wider audience than just board gamers obsessed with game mechanics. I can play this with my family, or break it out at my game group for a quick game that doesn't take any time to teach. The physical element and simple rules make it more accessible to people who aren't gamers and an easy pick up game when you need to mix things up at game night or just want something fast and simple to play while waiting for people to show up.
