I saw the band in the 90’s at the Star Club in Nelson Wales, what a great wild night, i don’t know if it was you or a predecessor playing sax on his back while being past around the crowd, i spent plenty of visits to back of the stage to re- plug in cables that night, i know the band did a second show there a while after ,sadly i missed that one as i was working.

The first disturbances began in Brixton over the weekend of 10-12 April 1981, and were followed in July by a series of similar disturbances in more than 35 cities and towns, especially Liverpool. There's a member of Bad Manners, Nick Welsh who performs under the name King Hammond, absolutely brilliant. He worked on the Lee Scratch Perry Jamaican ET album that won a Grammy. Very English references, Monkey Boots, Rockin on Ridley Road (a market in Hackney) and a very nice chap.

I saw 'Buster Bloodvessel' when I lived in Brixton in 1983, and I went to see Bad Manners. I didn't see anything unusual about performances like this. We used to dance like that, in those days.
Buster's still alive at the age of 63, something which wasn't always certain. In early 2001, he fell seriously ill during a concert in Perugia (Italy), but recovered. He struggled with morbid obesity and underwent laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery in 2004, with his weight dropping from 31 stone (196.86 kg; 434 lbs) to 13 stone (82.6 kg; 182 lbs).
He once owned a hotel in Margate called 'Fatty Towers', which specifically catered for larger customers, with features such as extra large beds and baths as well as fatty meals.
    What a life!

Inner London Violence is my favourite Bad Manners tune. I met Buster at The Pelican Club in Aberdeen Scotland in 1991. He’s a lovely fella. Still touring too. Although, he’s slimmed down but still likes the crowd to shout “you fat bastard” at him.

I saw bad manners live at a real ale festival in Chichester. It was carnage but massive fun. I remember my friend buying a barrel of ale for her birthday party, it was called ginger twat which she found increasingly funny as the night went on. 🤣

As this song was first released in 1980 or thereabouts it means that it's older than both of you, doesn't it? As both of your reactions were so impromptu and natural can you even imagine what it was like for us Brits when we first saw and heard this well over 40 years ago? It was great for us to see and experience because Buster Bloodvessel and the rest of Bad Manners lifted our spirits especially during the 1980's under that old witch Thatcher.
They were the even funnier version of Madness and the complete opposite of The Specials musically speaking. Most of the young - and not so young - loved reggae, ska, Two Tone etc because their music brought all of us together to party and to lift everyone's morale - it was the total opposite and a complete counteraction of what Maggie T and all of her miserable Toffee-Nosed Tory Tw@t party-pooper cronies intended.
You should also bear in mind that this was even before Culture Club arrived on the scene in 1982 and I well remember the collective meltdowns that went on amongst all of those conservatives when they first clapped eyes on Boy George when we all saw him singing on Top Of The Pops and performing " Do You Really Want To Hurt Me? " when it reached number 1 in the charts. It was just glorious to behold.
Thanks to those fantastic musicians and performers from all those years ago and thanks to both of you for your hilarious reaction to seeing Bad Manners especially with Buster Bloodvessel in 'his white jumpsuit'. It's quite funny considering that neither of you were quite sure which was the band's name or what the title of their song was at the start of your video, were you? So can we all expect you both to have brain-worms with this particular song and its performance for the next 40+ years or so? I certainly hope so!! :-)

My friend got this band in his club about 12 years after this came out, when they saw his sound system they said …we only need our instruments here…..when they came out on stage they were well drunk, what a great show they put on….the sax player was playing while being passed around on his back in the crowd, i spent most of the show going back and for to the connection block on the stage re plugging their leads in cos the were so lively they kept pulling em out.

Didnt read all the comments so in case no ones told you, lip up fatty means its your turn to get the drinks in ! Before they were famous, theyd take turns to go to the off license for beers ( usually carlsberg special brew ) strong stuff, and whomevers turn it was theyd just look n say lip up fatty ! The song special brew is homage to carly special !

So glad you liked this, the guys name is Buster Bloodvessel, such a great singer and amazing energy. It reminds me of happy times n London in th early 80's as a kid; after Bad Manners came out , the overweight boys in school shaved their heads and became cool, EVERY class had a mini Buster! bless em. Happy times, happy musc and a perfect example that music should be about the sounds and the feelings it evokes and not how 'boringly perfect' the band looks x
