  • A group of prominent TikTok dancers are trapped in a cult masquerading as a management company called 7M. Among them is Miranda Wilking, whose family is desperately trying to get their daughter out. As other dancers and former members escape and work to rebuild their lives, it isn’t until they come together to try and put a stop to the cycle of their abuser that the real healing begins. This three-part documentary series from director Derek Doneen, Dirty Robber and WV Alternative exposes the diabolical tactics used by cult-like organizations to exert control over people as well as the lengths families will go to keep their loved ones safe.

    Lost a friend of 30 years to a cult/church. He met a woman in this group. He became very distant and cold. He got married and changed his last name (to hers). Cut off his family and all his friends in a matter of months. Eventually moved away, and no one has heard from him in 10 years. Scary stuff!

      Consider not just believing Netflix documentaries;
      Consider the creator of this series along with Miranda’s family pitched it to NETFLIX. The creator has been in civil litigation for 2 years with SHINN and The Derricks being sued for defamation. Per open court records it would seem she is going to lose her case big time.
      Since they are in civil litigation with this creator, legally not a good idea to be in a documentary of the person you are suing. Knowing this, how unbiased do you think this series is? Why would Netflix knowingly allow a creator to put together a series knowing they are in civil litigation and it would be in the creators favor to defame, discredit, and destroy the people suing her?

This isn't members of a cult, these are real life people who have had interactions with her and have watched her cause pain and exploit people. She did this to herself. This is simply caused by her words, actions and behaviours. This is her public reputation. This is how people see her and I myself made a lengthy comment about how I feel sorry for these victims. Katie couldn't give up the spotlight and let the victims speak. She knows her true reputation around RUclips and around the Web. She knew people were going to take issue with her involvement. She claims to care so much about the victims, but why couldn't she politely step back and let the victims voices shine? Because Katie Joy is a trauma vulture and is not a true advocate for victims. There is a community that spreads awareness about Katie’s horrible behavior and are likely responding to this documentary. Katie has been sued by Robert Shinn in a defamation lawsuit so we are familiar with her antics behind the scenes.
      She is extremely manipulative and twists the truth. She also made over 30 videos exploiting a young man’s suicide to line her pockets. She will exploit anyone for money. Shes an awful person.

    EDIT: watched the documentary, Katie Joy is NOT interviewed. Some of her social media posts appear on screen a few times but they represent a matter of seconds of the 3 episode documentary. You can all go rage elsewhere. 😊
    Regardless of whoever Katie Joy is, I’ve read the reviews from news sources and they interview several former members of the cult who have left. This sounds like Classic Cult 101. Just because they interview one shady person does not negate the experiences of the members who left. It’s interesting because I’ve gotten bombarded with videos from Miranda and her husband on Instagram on my feed (I don’t follow either of them). Both very good looking, great dancers, fun videos. I didn’t think much about it but there is always more than meets the eye online.

    • @jenmck23
      @jenmck23 29 дней назад

      Actually you would be inaccurate. I'm not brainwashed or in the cult, a cult victim or hater or whatever else Katie is going around saying. I am a real person who used to be subscribed to her a sadly a paying member to her channel.
      Katie has a tendency to block and delete any negative comments, comments that disagree with her and of course any comments criticizing her. I don't know who you are or if you've actually done a simple Google search on Katie Joy and Without a Crystal Ball or WOACB, but her public reputation is not very good. This is not misdirection going on. Sure there is repetition in these comments because Katie is a Trauma Vulture who has a very problematic history that has been documented on RUclips. It is shocking that people would be willing to have Katie Joy involved in this project when she is in an active lawsuit with Robert Shinn and 7m. She is being sued for defamation regarding some of these exact claims. People take issue with this docuseries because of Katie's involvement. She cannot be trusted. She claims to be a "reporter and journalist" but has many examples of not being very ethical. She has caused harm to many people and exploited people's pain and their stories for clicks and views, to make money on RUclips.
      The one that irritates me the most is Jenelle Evans or Eason from MTV's Teen Mom 2. I'm not saying I like Jenelle but when you have a DV victim sharing details with you and you claim it's off the record so she feels comfortable to open up and share, what happens to honouring the "journalist integrity", when she ends up going back into the DV cycle? Katie decided to judge Jenelle and rather than contact authorities to privately help this woman and mother, who was very likely in danger and a bad situation, Katie decided to publicly blast the "off the record" DM's on her RUclips and social media accounts. She not only put Jenelle at risk of major retaliation of her abuser, but also risked the safety of Jenelle's children. Why? Because she was mad that Jenelle went back? Katie claims to be a survivor and should understand how stupid and dangerous that was to do. IMO Katie released those DM's because she felt like the "connection" she made with Jenelle back fired on her and Katie couldn't handle looking like a fool. So Katie decided to go on her RUclips channel and announce and blast the personal admissions Jenelle gave her about abuse she suffered at the hands of her husband. Please explain to me how this is ok? As a survivor myself, that incident sticks with me and is why I'm so vocal on my stance regarding Katie and her involvement with victims.

    Katie Joy Paulson, who has pretty much said everything from "I played only a small part in this documentary" to "I made this documentary happen" is not a credible source for ANYTHING. The beauty of what I'm about to say and the opinions I express is that she can't delete it, as she does ANY comment that is the least bit critical or that corrects her constant factual misstatements. CONSTANT. The following is Katie's recipe for journalistic success, which Meta and RUclips condone: (1) pick a perceived Christian public figure (usually sourced from TLC); (2) accuse them of being in a cult (any remotely "Christian" religion is a cult to Katie Joy, including Catholicism); and (3) endlessly pick apart their lives, accuse them of serious crimes-always including sex crimes-for which she gives no evidence, and comment nasty things about their appearance. She even made fun of Kody Brown's balding hair in a photo taken at the memorial for his son who had committed suicide. THAT is Katie Joy Paulson in a nutshell. The same women she claims are "victims" are vilified, spoken about like middle school mean girls. Her "reporting" is predominantly sourced from Reddit subs, which she usually doesn't credit. She has made hundreds if not thousands of videos on the Duggars and the Browns, most recently cashing in on the suicide of Garrison Brown in a way that breaches even fundamental ethics of journalism. She has repeatedly lied about the status of her lawsuit with 7M, Miranda, and James. The way she has talked about Miranda as a sex-trafficked cult member has been revolting. Her live-steamed reaction when she learned from a sub that Miranda reunited with her parents very early on in this saga was one of anger, not joy. She was "betrayed" bc the family had the audacity not to tell her first; furious, in fact. See, that messed up her cult narrative. She's no victim's advocate. Her "reporting" is tantamount to defamation and harassment, but bc these people are public figures, she banks on the fact they won't file defamation claims bc, legally, it's very rare for a public figure to win a defamation case, and litigation is very costly. And, of course, to them she's just a lowly RUclipsr. Her association with this documentary has me already questioning the veracity of what these people are saying. She is simply not a trustworthy source of information.

      💯 🎯 I love so much that kj can't delete any of these comments that are fact! U know it's driving her crazy 🤪 😂...she will be on a drunken bender this wkend, screenshotting these comments & writing novels to try n deflect from her criminal behavior.
      I'm praying that by the end of her lawsuit that she ends up w criminal charges bc defamation in MN is criminal. And the fact that kj has now perjured herself & openly brags about her involvement in this while lying under oath saying she hasn't spread her defamatory statements to any 3rd parties, I hope that's the nail in her coffin. Perhaps the MN DA indicts her on criminal charges & the judge holds her in contempt & jail for the perjury (in addition to the criminal defamation).
      I also love that KJ keeps saying Robert's suit against her isn't going anywhere will be dismissed & she doesn't care, yet the public court records show the judge telling kj her statements that Shinn is a water boarding human trafficker is "defamatory on its face, unless u have proof of such claims..." So show ur proof & the greatest order in the suit is "defendants motion to dismiss is DENIED." 😅 she was also ordered to answer all interrogatories that she refuses to answer.
      This whole series is very bad for Netflix bc now I won't believe anything they ever put out bc they obviously don't vet their sources.

    TY Netflix for making this documentary available for viewing. I was shocked by the docu series. I recognized some of the dancers in the documentary from their TikToks shared on RUclips. Never in my wildest ideas did I know that I was giving YT "likes" to dancers caught up in a dangerous religious cult. My heart goes out to the families, loved ones, and former victims entangled with this terrible reality. I will use greater discernment to make sure I'm not doing anything through my YT usage to further embolden the "dancers' cult" to hurt more people.🙏

The sister talking about moving forward "not for social media", when she lives her life on social media is a little hypocritical, and continues to use her sister´s story for her to gain social media fame.

    If anyone sees my comment, I don’t want to discredit anybody’s feelings because I don’t know about the drama about withoutacrystalball but the one part where she is mentioned is when the documentary is narrating how many people were talking about Robert Shinn (not just her) from the video that Miranda’s family made. She appears from 53:15 to 53:20 and 53:33 to 53:40 of the first episode. The other information/research comes from other dancers that were from 7M management/Shekinah, ex-members of Shekinah, audio/video recordings of Robert’s sermons, Miranada’s parents and sister, another set of parents of a dancer that is in 7M management that are going through the same issues, and one or two pictures from an ex-member named Priscilla. This information is just from the first two episodes, I haven’t watched the third yet.
