WOW, this vertical short drama is actually really good. I used to be so annoyed by "green tea 🍵 " characters, but this "reverse perspective " is so well done that I really enjoyed every minute of it. This is by far one of the best short Chinese historical drama that I've watched. No unnecessary scenes of pointless arguing and the schemes were totally genius. The love story between the ml and fl was realistic in those dynasty periods. This drama showed the reality that being royal, living in the palace and with all the power struggle, there is no way to live a fairytale life. The FL is a perfect choice for an Empress. Her personality (being good but at the same time having the capabilities to manipulate and be ruthless at times) and intelligence are exactly what a strong Empress should be and have.

This is a realistic and awesome period drama. FL is sensible with a 3rd person perspective, she knows the game is too dangerous the rule being to perform or perish. ML is handsome and apt for the role. He's unrelenting initially in a monogamous relationship till it dawned upon the need to let go emotions for the larger good, his responsibilities about becoming a king and taking his lineage further. 2nd FL only relied upon her scheming and sacrifices of her loyal subjects. Monarchy isn't about pure love and affections. It's involves careful and adept manoeuvring which was well orchestrated by the FL. She neither killed nor harmed anybody but successfully protected herself and her loyal subjects.
European kings were in monogamous marriages for centuries. They also had to keep their lineages going for the greater good. And they didn't need secondary wives to do so. The "greater good" in this sense is just an excuse for legalized adultery.

Wow , this is impressive to be honest, let me tell you guys my reasons why i like this drama 1.she doesn't have system helping her(it's common plot for reincarnate to have system helping them in Chinese drama or manhua) 2.she wasn't blinded by love(really REALLY uncommon plot to be honest,in a lot of the Chinese drama, the main characters fall in love halfway during their scheme) 3.does not get her family to help her out unlike female lead. 4.she did not let her guard down, like ,ever, even until the end 5.the male lead IS the crown prince, of course he will have several concubines and several childrens, (i know cheating is wrong but come on ,it's historical chinese drama ,cheating is as common as eating dinner during those era) she accept that fate and cleverly survives in the harem and even becomes the empress. I don't think of her as green tea or the villain... she just protected herself in a place where you either kill or be killed - the lives of concubines in the palace weren't all glorious since everyone was always fighting for power and influence. She didn't harm anyone unless it was to protect herself, and they tried to hurt her first. She was just bright with the wisdom of a long-time concubine from the start - she beat the system to ensure her own and her child's survival. The way I see her is someone with strong survival skills who knows what battles to fight to ensure her ships aren't sunk. She is a female character who has a strong backbone.
ML is super handsome, charming and extremely manly. He has the aura and grace of a king. Of all the ML’s I feel he’s the most suitable for the role of a prince and a king. This attire suits him so well. I’m literally drooling! 🤤😍😍😍

I think we are ought to remember that he fell in love when he was young. When it dawned on him to continue his lineage he was open to the other women especially FL.
She was a calculating woman and I normally disliked her kind. But here, I have to say she was impressive, and yes, she only love herself and her son. It was also worth mentioning that she was good at manipulating that even the crown prince danced at the palm of her hand. I also liked that she protected her child and those who are loyal to her. The story is also a refreshing one, so different from all the cdramas o've seen. This one is really good. 👍👍 to the author and the actors.
It's really interesting to watch a drama with a different plot. No attachment involves, I think this portrays the power struggle that were found in royal families.
This movie was sooooo goood! Dont skip it!! Completely new and refreshing story and a novel take on the green tea fake white lotus haha. You root for her all the way. I felt bad for the crown princess but stopped after she turned wicked. She made the wrong choices and reaped the consequences. FL was cold and calculating and changed her destiny 👏🏼.
I really love seeing them scheme not only all the way to the end to secure their position but even make the prince fall on love with them. Green teas do it, our FLs also can if its the only way to survive. In the end she targeted those who targetted her unlike green teas who just target unfairly😂

She was a calculating woman and I normally disliked her kind. But here, I have to say she was impressive, and yes, she only love herself and her son. It was also worth mentioning that she was good at manipulating that even the crown prince danced at the palm of her hand. I also liked that she protected her child and those who are loyal to her.
The story is also a refreshing one, so different from all the cdramas o've seen. This one is really good.

This movie was sooooo goood! Dont skip it!! Completely new and refreshing story and a novel take on the green tea fake white lotus haha. You root for her all the way. I felt bad for the crown princess but stopped after she turned wicked. She made the wrong choices and reaped the consequences. FL was cold and calculating and changed her destiny 👏🏼.
