Robert, if I may make a suggestion - I have an SMK/Artemis CP-2 and it comes with a very effective sound moderator. It's as close to silent as anything I've owned. Not expensive, but it has the running costs of Co2 bulbs and they are cheap if bought in bulk from some suppliers. I recommend this gun where noise is critical.

With foam backing .,.. it's super quiet and catches/retains all the the spent lead. I stick a white piece of A4 paper on it with the dots here and there..... Once the paper target has fulfiled it's role stick another piece on. When the box has "shot" it...brake the carpet out and stick it in a new serial box. And we are talking whisper quite when those pellets hit.bworks a treat.
    Cheers,

I just wanted to say, “THANK YOU!” for doing your channel(s) in your style which is totally unique, original, and stands out in this overly populated RUclips world.
(I first found out your photo / video making channel.)
I just uploaded my first “air gun” related video.
It’s about (new to me) eBay found Beeman P1 (same thing as Weihrauch HW45), and how I
    “meditate” with it.
(If I put the video link here, RUclips will delete my comments. So, I’ll email you the video link along with the photos I took. I also use vintage lenses a lot.)
Ever since this P1 came into my possession, I (almost) exclusively shoot this one, with open sight, off hand. (10m / 33ft).
I found out your “offhand shooting videos just a few days ago.
They are so encouraging. (It kind of looks like everyone on RUclips who does air gun video must do chronograph test, measure trigger pull weight with digital scale, and do the accuracy test on the bench with a scope or red dot.
    I don’t do these things.
I just shoot, offhand, with open sight.
    Anyway, thanks again.
    And take care.

I keep my back garden shooting noise to a minimum by normally shooting from inside my kitchen, it's fenced off and there's no path or other access where someone could appear in the line of fire unexpectedly. I deliberately use rifles which make the least noise, an HW30 .22 with moderator or a low power old BSA Cadet, keep my rate of fire fairly low out of consideration and I don't shoot for extended periods of time. If I can hear neighbours or kids outside somewhere nearby I won't shoot (common sense).
The noise of pellets repeatedly hitting steel plate is potentially annoying for others. A safe, cheap and very quiet pellet catcher is a cardboard box full of rags placed in front of a solid backstop like paving slabs or a brick wall. As soon as pellets leave the boundary of your property or your airgun shooting activities endanger or cause alarm/ distress to neighbours then you are breaking the law which can obviously get you into trouble and unfortunately makes airgun shooting look bad in general. It's very important to be careful and considerate not only for safety but to preserve the sport.

Agreed wholeheartedly. If we want our freedom to pursue our hobby to continue then it's our responsibility to show common sense, respect, and due consideration.

They are on our toes all over the world that's for sure...
Just waiting for the next big title to use scare as a persuasion.

Ha yeah the ducks make great targets for sure - and they don't cause ricochet either.

      _Pardon my french._
      I like the target Idea!
      Nice color and size ...
Do they react a bit or sometimes you wonder if you hitted them?

    • @PlanetDrewdog
      @PlanetDrewdog  Год назад +1

@@LowkeyAirgunner they jump about when you hit them, and depending on the velocity of the gun - the round either passes though or just bounces a few feet away because the target is free to move.

Absolutely love your channel and content. I'm a co2 umarex style shooter but after a few days of watching all your content, I've got on the ladder and I've just ordered myself a Crosman Shockwave .22 as a starter rifle. Keep the videos coming mate. Sending best wishes.
