Reading is one of my favorite things ever but I have high school and college classes year round (even summer) and have dyslexia and adhd so reading takes a lot of time I don’t have bc if school so it makes me so happy when people have realistic goals like this. hi carmen! this is the first video i've seen of yours and i just had to subscribe immediately cause this was very relaxing. and this video combines my 2 favorite things: asmr and books, yay! :D it was very refreshing to hear someone say that they've "only" read 12 books this year - which honestly is a lot to me but it always makes me feel kinda bad about myself when i see so many people reading like 80 books in a year or something. i could totally relate when you said that you love reading but just don't make time for it because girl, same. the only time i ever really read a lot is when i'm on vacation. anyways sorry for my little rant but thank you for this video and i'm looking forward to seeing more of your content in the future
Thanks for sharing the books you read with us. I think 1 book a month is a good goal. It is enough where it keeps you reading but there isn't a massive pressure associated with it. I find I have a hard time sitting down and just reading lately, as much as I enjoy books. I think fast form content like youtube shorts and other super fast gratification media has shortened my attention span haha. Or I just don't have the mental energy to do it. But I will work on it
i 100% agree and relate to this! i love reading but similarly, i feel like my attention span and ability to focus have been destroyed by overconsumption of short form media. i think that’s also what makes me read so slow- i have to concentrate so hard just to really digest what i’m reading and allow my eyes to take it all in. kinda sad and scary but good to notice and something i’m trying to work on!
Finishing 12 books in a year sounds like a lot to me! Nice job! I usually only finish 3 or 4 per year max, but they are sometimes 1000+ page books lol.

imo- the lack of communication between the siblings in book lovers made me so angry i could not get past it. i liked happy place more for sure, win is such a cutie
