And I aim at her heart and pull. As the bullet struck her heart, she began to fall on to the snow and muddy ground. She had a faint smile on her face. Knowing about her and struggle was life altering. She died fighting for her cause. "Get me a shovel", I told my men. "But sir, ask the grunts to do it." "Just get me a shovel". "Yes sir", as a shovel was brought to me. I found a sapling growing by a frozen river. The soil was frozen and difficult to dig. But I did anyways and my force left me behind with only a lone grunt to accompany me. "What made you bury her". "She reminded me of why I still fight."

Five years had passed. I had travelled to many places, seen many wars. The further I travelled, the more corrupt the villages and kingdoms became. Song one: I can see the warrior on a knee, weary hands clinging to the sword that is lodged into the muddy ground in front of him (or her!), face bloodied with streams that mingle with the pouring rain and drip with intention and purpose off their chin, breaths hard and quick that seem more controlled with each passing one, and eyes piercing with the fire that is still burning inside of them. And then 0:43 comes and there's this "out of body experience" where the warrior finds the strength to get up... maybe a subliminal message from a previous memory of a loved one or comrade who has gone before. Then 1:04 comes and you're back in the darkened battle scene (POV from the villain's shoulder looking at the hero). A "playful" banter is started by the villain (not a monologue, we all know that never works) and then 2:08 the warrior's had enough and engages. Swords clash as lighting cracks the darkness, the hero taking more than their "fair share" of blows and being knocked back, the villain's laughter evolving from a soft chuckle to this full-voiced maniacal call. But as every time before, 3:03 the warrior hero does not surrender. Fight scene is in flash, fast forward motion until its eventual end 3:24 where the warrior stands for a few moments and then falls back as the scene fades. Song two: The small group of fringe members meets one last time to confirm the storm intended to overturn the tyrannical rule over their loves ones. There are hushed voices though firm and determined, eyes which are sure and set, hands which hold courage and strength. At 4:17 they disperse, taking the plans for their portion of the storm, offering their comrades an arm grip of encouragement before leaving the dim and damp room. 5:00-5:03 transitions to this battle (POV pans over the final battle: both armies facing each other on a large plain). 5:23 has another "out-of-body" experience, where one fringe member sees their child on the other side. The battle between duty and love begins to tear them apart... and they are the leader of this resistance group. The child they'd worked so hard to protect has turned against them. As 5:48 rolls around, this leader must combat their own flesh and blood. During this time they beg their child to remember what they were taught while growing up: "Think for yourself, don't follow the crowd because everyone else does. Do what is right no matter the cost." The leader at 7:09 does not want to kill their child, but this time has come: they are down on the ground but not for long. They have spat in their face and said they are a disease. They beg them once more, the child refusing to yield. When out of the blue, 7:46, the leader of the tyrannical army shoots the child.

I usually do it opposite: search out songs that match my writing, but I thought I'd switch things up a bit! So glad you enjoyed it! This is the song of the female main character in my fantasy story I write. It takes place in war. It's a 3 part series right now, I'm at the 3rd part. She undergoes a massive character development through the whole story and changes a lot. Edit: This became longer than I wanted, short TL;DR in a comment. She first appears some chapter in the first part as a side character - she's the love interest of the main character. She's beautiful, elegant, thin and petite. She's a noble and depends on the main character (MC) to always protect and save her. A mistress in distress, you could say. She develops feelings for the MC as well. But things happen and she herself starts fighting in the war next to MC, but she's not the best fighter and makes bad decisions, it's still mostly MC who saves her. Then things get even worse and MC ends up on the enemy's side. This is the first step in her character development. She's left alone and learns to protect herself. She also has a new goal; she fights for MC, she tries to reach him and be with him. And she succeeds. She betrays her side just to follow her own will and walk her own path with MC (though she doesn't join his side in the war because she doesn't agree with it, she remains neutral). But she becomes pregnant. That causes MC to switch sides again and fight against the original enemy to end the war and "save the world" (sort of), but in reality he doesn't give a f*ck about the world, he just wants to protect the woman he loves and their unborn child. He succeeds and kills the enemy leader but gives his life for it. That's where part 1 ends. In part 2 the female character is in the focus from the very first second. Years have passed, she became a very, very strong (not just physical strenght, she's very strong in soul too) and wise warrior, her appearance changed drastically. Even in the end of part 1 she still kept her "noble lady" look, but now she's a rough, tough warrior. She went through a lot, the death of her love had a big impact on her and she also lost the child. She fights in the war that broke out after part 1's war ended; it's mostly between her original side and the side that remained neutral in part 1, the one she now belongs to. During her patrol she finds signs that indicate that her lover might be alive so she start investigating, and sure enough, he is alive, he's been brought back but has a curse, he can't remember anything, and the only way for him to get rid of this curse is to kill the enemy leader who's been brought back as well, and who also has the same curse and seeks to get rid of it. They're basically hunting each other. That's when the "new" MC enters the story, as the female MC wants to help him in hopes of getting back her love. She also gives him an enchanted book to help him remember her (he'd keep forgetting and attacking her otherwise) and the things they find on their journey. They end up falling for each other again. After that the female MC is hesitant to break his curse, thinking he might change when he gets back his memories and his now carefree personality will disappear as he remembers his dark past, and that he might become vengeful again, chasing revenge until he dies. They end up breaking the curse anyways. He gets back his memories and remembers everything, but his personality doesn't change much, as he says, it's like someone else did the things he did in his past life. He feels regret for his mistakes, though. They stay together, and continue fighting, as war isn't over yet. Then there's part 3 that takes place between part 1 and 2, and it's entirely about the female MC. It shows how she went from an elegant noble lady to a tough warrior. At first she's absolutely destroyed when she hears that her lover died for her and their child, but keeps herself together for the baby. But things get bad. I'm not too far into the story yet, so I can't say much. The concept is that something changed in her body when she first became a warrior back in part 1, and that her body is in an unstable state that can't bear a child, meaning her body will eventually kill her child. In order to save the baby she needs to get her body in a stable state, and she can only do that by killing certain warriors just like her to gain their powers. And that's what she does. It's kind of traumatic to her - she's been in war before, but she never really killed anyone. But now, for the sake of her child, she's willing to do it again and again. The whole thing makes her stronger and stronger, both in soul and strenght. I'm still writing her fights and adventures, but I already know how it ends, she runs out of time and loses the baby despite her best efforts. This is another very important, traumatic and tragic event for her... But she's strong, she doesn't give up living, she fights the war and keeps killing her targets just in case she falls in love once again, and wants to have a child. She's very depressed though from her losses. That's why she immediately starts investigating in part 2 when she thinks her lover might be alive, even if there are just slim chances for that (or at least she thinks so). This song is her song in part 3. Her song as she throws away her morals, her innocence, her part self, she throws everything away and fights no matter what happens - just to save her child. I'll probably write a part 4 once I'm finished with part 3. I really want to, because I'm very attached to this story. This is the most complex world I've ever built in a story, the first time my main characters aren't "heroes", just people who make mistakes and feel ugly emotions like hate and rage that make them do horrible things (MC betraying everyone, for example). It's the first time I write such a strong female character, or that my characters change this much. It's also the first time I kill my main character. He has to die because of his actions in part 1&2, there's no way for him to stay alive, there's nowhere for him to go. The only reason I bring him back is that he left a hole in the story, a role that needs to be filled in order for the world to be complete and balanced, and the way I built up the universe doesn't allow too much wiggle room, he has to be brought back. And that's why he has the curse, he gets a fresh start. A part 4 will be likely needed because he still has no place, war is still going on, and he needs to reedem and prove himself. Honestly... This is the nutshell version. My characters go through so many things and there's so much else to both them and the fantasy world, the saga, so to say... But this comment is already very long. I don't want to make it longer. Big respect to anyone who managed to read the whole thing - I honestly wouldn't.
TL;DR: In my 3 part series I dedicate a book to my female main character. It shows her making a sacrafice, throwing away everything she believed in, her morals, everything, just to save her child. This is her song: she fights and will keep fighting no matter what happens, no matter what she has to give up / sacrafice, no matter what happens to her, her soul. "NO MATTER WHAT, I WILL FIGHT".

Though since I made this comment I have already rewritten the story and the universe twice. 😂 But the main points are still roughly the same, just some details changed and more characters died. I got a taste of killing beloved characters and now I’m no longer afraid to do it when the story needs it! No more deus ex machina!

Five years had passed. I had travelled to many places, seen many wars. The further I travelled, the more corrupt the villages and kingdoms became.
In my bag, I carried a silver crown, given to me by a friend. The only thing I truly cared about.
In my hand, I carried a gun I had taken from a corrupt soldier back in a town further East.
Since bidding my Queen farewell, and leaving my friend behind, I had begun a journey. Travelling everywhere I desired, standing against evil, and standing for those too weak to fight.
Each and every time I met the petrified gaze of those broken by heartless people who had destroyed everything they knew, my mind flickered back to silver eyes, golden hair flying in the wind - and I remembered why I fought.

Song one: I can see the warrior on a knee, weary hands clinging to the sword that is lodged into the muddy ground in front of him (or her!), face bloodied with streams that mingle with the pouring rain and drip with intention and purpose off their chin, breaths hard and quick that seem more controlled with each passing one, and eyes piercing with the fire that is still burning inside of them. And then 0:43 comes and there's this "out of body experience" where the warrior finds the strength to get up... maybe a subliminal message from a previous memory of a loved one or comrade who has gone before. Then 1:04 comes and you're back in the darkened battle scene (POV from the villain's shoulder looking at the hero). A "playful" banter is started by the villain (not a monologue, we all know that never works) and then 2:08 the warrior's had enough and engages. Swords clash as lighting cracks the darkness, the hero taking more than their "fair share" of blows and being knocked back, the villain's laughter evolving from a soft chuckle to this full-voiced maniacal call. But as every time before, 3:03 the warrior hero does not surrender. Fight scene is in flash, fast forward motion until its eventual end 3:24 where the warrior stands for a few moments and then falls back as the scene fades.
Song two: The small group of fringe members meets one last time to confirm the storm intended to overturn the tyrannical rule over their loves ones. There are hushed voices though firm and determined, eyes which are sure and set, hands which hold courage and strength. At 4:17 they disperse, taking the plans for their portion of the storm, offering their comrades an arm grip of encouragement before leaving the dim and damp room. 5:00-5:03 transitions to this battle (POV pans over the final battle: both armies facing each other on a large plain). 5:23 has another "out-of-body" experience, where one fringe member sees their child on the other side. The battle between duty and love begins to tear them apart... and they are the leader of this resistance group. The child they'd worked so hard to protect has turned against them. As 5:48 rolls around, this leader must combat their own flesh and blood. During this time they beg their child to remember what they were taught while growing up: "Think for yourself, don't follow the crowd because everyone else does. Do what is right no matter the cost." The leader at 7:09 does not want to kill their child, but this time has come: they are down on the ground but not for long. They have spat in their face and said they are a disease. They beg them once more, the child refusing to yield. When out of the blue, 7:46, the leader of the tyrannical army shoots the child.

I usually do it opposite: search out songs that match my writing, but I thought I'd switch things up a bit! So glad you enjoyed it! I'm hoping to be able to do this more in the future to help strengthen the writing that I publish (link to my work posted in the previous reply) and give people a "jumping point" for their own stories to come to life from music.

This is the song of the female main character in my fantasy story I write. It takes place in war. It's a 3 part series right now, I'm at the 3rd part. She undergoes a massive character development through the whole story and changes a lot.
Edit: This became longer than I wanted, short TL;DR in a comment.
She first appears some chapter in the first part as a side character - she's the love interest of the main character. She's beautiful, elegant, thin and petite. She's a noble and depends on the main character (MC) to always protect and save her. A mistress in distress, you could say. She develops feelings for the MC as well. But things happen and she herself starts fighting in the war next to MC, but she's not the best fighter and makes bad decisions, it's still mostly MC who saves her. Then things get even worse and MC ends up on the enemy's side. This is the first step in her character development. She's left alone and learns to protect herself. She also has a new goal; she fights for MC, she tries to reach him and be with him. And she succeeds. She betrays her side just to follow her own will and walk her own path with MC (though she doesn't join his side in the war because she doesn't agree with it, she remains neutral). But she becomes pregnant. That causes MC to switch sides again and fight against the original enemy to end the war and "save the world" (sort of), but in reality he doesn't give a f*ck about the world, he just wants to protect the woman he loves and their unborn child. He succeeds and kills the enemy leader but gives his life for it. That's where part 1 ends.
In part 2 the female character is in the focus from the very first second. Years have passed, she became a very, very strong (not just physical strenght, she's very strong in soul too) and wise warrior, her appearance changed drastically. Even in the end of part 1 she still kept her "noble lady" look, but now she's a rough, tough warrior. She went through a lot, the death of her love had a big impact on her and she also lost the child. She fights in the war that broke out after part 1's war ended; it's mostly between her original side and the side that remained neutral in part 1, the one she now belongs to. During her patrol she finds signs that indicate that her lover might be alive so she start investigating, and sure enough, he is alive, he's been brought back but has a curse, he can't remember anything, and the only way for him to get rid of this curse is to kill the enemy leader who's been brought back as well, and who also has the same curse and seeks to get rid of it. They're basically hunting each other. That's when the "new" MC enters the story, as the female MC wants to help him in hopes of getting back her love. She also gives him an enchanted book to help him remember her (he'd keep forgetting and attacking her otherwise) and the things they find on their journey. They end up falling for each other again. After that the female MC is hesitant to break his curse, thinking he might change when he gets back his memories and his now carefree personality will disappear as he remembers his dark past, and that he might become vengeful again, chasing revenge until he dies. They end up breaking the curse anyways. He gets back his memories and remembers everything, but his personality doesn't change much, as he says, it's like someone else did the things he did in his past life. He feels regret for his mistakes, though. They stay together, and continue fighting, as war isn't over yet.
Then there's part 3 that takes place between part 1 and 2, and it's entirely about the female MC. It shows how she went from an elegant noble lady to a tough warrior. At first she's absolutely destroyed when she hears that her lover died for her and their child, but keeps herself together for the baby. But things get bad. I'm not too far into the story yet, so I can't say much. The concept is that something changed in her body when she first became a warrior back in part 1, and that her body is in an unstable state that can't bear a child, meaning her body will eventually kill her child. In order to save the baby she needs to get her body in a stable state, and she can only do that by killing certain warriors just like her to gain their powers. And that's what she does. It's kind of traumatic to her - she's been in war before, but she never really killed anyone. But now, for the sake of her child, she's willing to do it again and again. The whole thing makes her stronger and stronger, both in soul and strenght. I'm still writing her fights and adventures, but I already know how it ends, she runs out of time and loses the baby despite her best efforts. This is another very important, traumatic and tragic event for her... But she's strong, she doesn't give up living, she fights the war and keeps killing her targets just in case she falls in love once again, and wants to have a child. She's very depressed though from her losses. That's why she immediately starts investigating in part 2 when she thinks her lover might be alive, even if there are just slim chances for that (or at least she thinks so).
This song is her song in part 3. Her song as she throws away her morals, her innocence, her part self, she throws everything away and fights no matter what happens - just to save her child.
I'll probably write a part 4 once I'm finished with part 3. I really want to, because I'm very attached to this story. This is the most complex world I've ever built in a story, the first time my main characters aren't "heroes", just people who make mistakes and feel ugly emotions like hate and rage that make them do horrible things (MC betraying everyone, for example). It's the first time I write such a strong female character, or that my characters change this much. It's also the first time I kill my main character. He has to die because of his actions in part 1&2, there's no way for him to stay alive, there's nowhere for him to go. The only reason I bring him back is that he left a hole in the story, a role that needs to be filled in order for the world to be complete and balanced, and the way I built up the universe doesn't allow too much wiggle room, he has to be brought back. And that's why he has the curse, he gets a fresh start. A part 4 will be likely needed because he still has no place, war is still going on, and he needs to reedem and prove himself.
Honestly... This is the nutshell version. My characters go through so many things and there's so much else to both them and the fantasy world, the saga, so to say... But this comment is already very long. I don't want to make it longer. Big respect to anyone who managed to read the whole thing - I honestly wouldn't.
TL;DR:
In my 3 part series I dedicate a book to my female main character. It shows her making a sacrafice, throwing away everything she believed in, her morals, everything, just to save her child. This is her song: she fights and will keep fighting no matter what happens, no matter what she has to give up / sacrafice, no matter what happens to her, her soul. "NO MATTER WHAT, I WILL FIGHT".

Though since I made this comment I have already rewritten the story and the universe twice. 😂 But the main points are still roughly the same, just some details changed and more characters died. I got a taste of killing beloved characters and now I’m no longer afraid to do it when the story needs it! No more deus ex machina!
