Such great I deas. One that I often see overlooked is a replaceable insert that is a circle, rather then square. The circle can be rotated and last much longer, when edge of circle is off center of drill bit for diameter rotation. Easy to make with pattern bits, bandsaw, or saw tables, and even a disk/belt sander.
I feel like i just watched an infomercial. "But wait i routed it with my bits and bits bit on my rockler router table and my festool router all while making sure its alogned with my woodpeckers clamps" damn dude you could dial back the hardcore advertisement and still make your advertiser's happy
I like it when you do projects with tools a normal home owners would have in there garage. This will be my next project from you. Thanks for providing plans.
Great job 👍😊I have the same nova drill press .. I’m going to build one of these.. you need to check out the keyless chuck that nova sells. Just got one for mine it’s a beast.. holds bits tight and you don’t need the stupid chuck key anymore 👍😊
I like the idea of having a drawer. I have the same problem with that lousy crank getting in the way of a "real" drill press table so this is a nice alternative to provide room for it to turn while providing a good table.
Great looking dp table. I’ve been wanting/needing to make a table for my drill press for a while. I really like the design of that. Do you or are you going to have plans for this?
watched about 3 minutes of your video. You named several different tools, bits, etc. that I don't have and some of the things you mentioned, I've never heard of. My thoughts - If I had all the tools and stuff you have, I would probably already have a drill press table/fence and/or know how to make one.
not bad, but I might make this change: Instead of a square sacrificial block, I think I would make it an offset circle that could be rotated to provide a fresh backup surface without disturbing anything else in the setup.
The only things that would probably improve on this build would be "moving" the height adjustment crank (or replace it with a wheel) to the front, using a set of 90* gears. You could also have moved the table lock further out to the side, so you wouldn't have to reach so far and awkwardly to lock the table height. You could have also gained a touch more work surface doing those two things. Overall though, it's an EXCELLENT build!! I'm definitely going to take a look at all those companies' tooling!
Please read this comment if you can offer help. I wanted to ask if anyone has any tips to get into carpentry. I have no experience, I would like to know how to gain it before work and if it is necessary to study anything. Any recommendations?
Thats funny, I have seen you use them in other project that were not shop related....matter of fact here is one that comes to mind. ruclips.net/video/GUwTQRJJ7kA/видео.html Don't get me wrong pocket holes are easy and convenient, but they don't have to be used in every (many) projects you do.
@@sisyphushappyband Because it's not what I would consider true woodworking....it's easy, quick and simple, but does not show the skill of a true woodworker. I can see them used on some projects, but not necessarily the "go to way" of fastening a all wood joints.
@@truth-ox3wz Ah, I see. l also only use hand-cut dovetails and tusk tenons when I make my drill press tables, too. My response is in jest, but a legitimate question: what was your goal with your initial question? As I see it, it can only be destructive, and I don't know why you'd go through the effort to denigrate a dude on a video you are in no way entitled to. If you don't like pocket holes...don't watch his videos. There are plenty of woodworkers using traditional methods on RUclips, and I'm sure they'd be happy to have you.
Never used pocket screws. I would worry about securing INTO plywood. Would seem like not much depth for the screw. Going into 2x4, etc, i get that. But the screw penetrating only a half inch or so into plywood, not so much.
I so badly want to make stuff like that. Sadly wood is so over the top expensive overr here. Yesterday i checked for making a workbench to start with, but the wood required for just the top is around 250 euro, guess close to 300 dollars.
Start with laminated pallet wood you can sometimes find them for free if not super cheap. Even if it isn't your first work surface and you have skills it's still gonna get beauty marks from hammers and chisels why spend lots on practical tables :)
@@nicko198718 I guess you are right. Maybe i'll do that to start with and add a better top later. Problem is i'm one of those people who cant hold a hammer, but wants purrfection. Gonna be a fun ride.
Hello sir, im planning to start wood working and i found a cheap deal online here in the philippines for less than 500$ I could get a impact driver, jigsaw and a circular saw, and i was wandering if you could help me out? And P.s i’m commenting at every woodworking youtube channel. Thank you and Stay Safe
Kinda getting over hearing Rockler every 30 seconds not everyone can afford their prices would be nice to have a video where there is budget solutions to problems/methods! Not trying to hate still love his videos just a slight criticism.
is this man sponsored by rockler, because absolutely everything he uses is
Yup, they’re one of my long term sponsors!

Festool and Woodpecker’s aren’t advertisers, so I’m not sure where you’re getting that.

I don't know if anyone mentioned before, but is he sponsored by rockler? 🤣
I am interested in that vacuum bag for glue-up, I'll put that on my "someday" list 👍
What a great upgrade . Good job man . Turned out so sweet
Beautiful work, as usual!
Very clean build. Satisfying to watch
Looks great! Thanks for sharing!
Now that’s a upgrade keep up ur great craftsmanship and hard work make on
Thanks!
Appreciate ya man!
Nice work on the drill press table Johnny! Thanks for sharing the video with us!💖👍👌😎JP
Vacuum bag glue up clamp is amazing
Nice! Love shop projects, keep them up🕺
very nice drill press topper...
That drill press!!!!
Nice table! I like the features you included and the dust collection looks like it is working quite well!
Thanks Bruce!

Good ideas here. Especially like the under table drawer.🙂🙂

you could move the hand crank to the front (facing you) using 2 90* bevel gears and a section of steel rod. Kinda easy-peasy
Nicely done & I also need to make me one of those tables! Thanks......👍👍😉😉
Awesome work, dude! It really looks fantastic! 😃
Nicely done!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Buying your plan and building this table for my new Viking Nova. Thanks Johnny!! ✊🏾
Awesome, hope it works well for you!
Great build!
Question about the Vacuum bag. What do you do if you have squeeze out when you use the bag? Is it coated inside to help remove the glue?
You can use melamine platens inside the bag above and below the work piece and any glue would go on those to be cleaned off later.
Great looking dp table. I’ve been wanting/needing to make a table for my drill press for a while. I really like the design of that. Do you or are you going to have plans for this?
do you have a video on the cabinet that you have below the drill press table?
I bet Rockler gave him that Nova Drill Press too!🤣🛫

Bits AND bits.

What blade do you use on your Miter Saw?
Was that ratcheting wrench your using? If so, where can I get them? Thanks!

I've seen a vid of how to change to bevel gears for the table elevation. I'll try to remember where I saw it.
I ordered the plans but it says they’ll be released on Oct 27 (2020). Are they available now?
Would you have used 3/4 in. Plywood instead of 1/2 in. Plywood?
Assuming you're a millionaire with that shop?? Wow!! Nice video, but your shop and tools are sick.
He’s sponsored.......by rockler I think
I bought the plans for this on your Gumroad today, but it's not showing up. Says pre-order October 27th. Could you look into this please?
Very helpful video, let's do a good job together, see you all again

What’s the answer to Scott’s question. I wondered the same thing.
Here’s the part number from amazon
NOVA 9049 1-Piece 5/8 in. Keyless Chuck for 2MT Drill Press
I get that it's sped up but seeing someone cutting that fast makes me nervous 😆
👏👏👏
Rockler
Which drill press is that??
Do you EVER do a project without pocket hole screws?
Not many shop projects! They’re such an easy way to join pieces of plywood.
Thats funny, I have seen you use them in other project that were not shop related....matter of fact here is one that comes to mind.

The screws penetrate close to ¾” and Baltic Birch plywood has incredible screw holding power. Not worried in the slightest!

Would you consider selling your old drill press table?
When you don't quite get the sponsors name right multiple times.. lol

beautiful work! I made one too. It's on my channel.
drink a shot every time he says drawer
No drink a shot every time he says rockler. Much more fun.
Love your videos, but the constant changes in music is distracting :/
It's all about the money. RUclips monetization has ruined many channels.

Unsubscribed dude you're killing me with the commercials.
This is just an advertisement for different tools. Extremely disappointed
