It has almost no chance against the zl1, Tesla, soon to come gt500 etc on the street. Too much power, too much weight. It just simply will not get traction. I'm a Camaro guy and a Mopar guy love them both but it is what it is that is a badass Camaro! when Hennessy got his demon and ran it at his track with 808 horse he ran like 10-8 in the quarter and it's obvious this ZL1 can dip into the nines so this demon would need every bit of 840 horse to be competitive

Exactly, I've seen hellcats beat plenty of Zl1's. Albeit, the Hellcat and Zl1 are EXTREMELY close. Whoever gets the jump or a better start wins. But if they both get a good launch, the Hellcat usually inches away just a tad bit.

5 stock demons ran at commerce in the Nmca HEMI shootout, crappy track conditions, all running 9.80-10.3, two had less than 300 miles on them. Pretty impressive for a heavy underpowered pos. You would have to suck at driving not to make a 10 second pass in a demon. Likewise I had to try like hell to make a 10.90 pass in my stock hellcat, and my Fbody shit the water pump in the staging lane
What most people dont get is the horsepower it says is at the crank which means it's getting around 640 more or less to the wheels and it only hits 9s on a very perfect day and very perfect launch plus its heavier than most cars which is why it loses every race on the street take it to a track and itll be a closer match
Not hating on any car but this ZL1 makes 720whp. That’s around 870 at the crank. So not only is it making more power it’s also around 700 pounds lighter. Makes total sense it wins. What’s crazy is it has a 15” rear wheel conversion with drag radials and the demon is still launching better with 18” wheels and drag radials. That suspension is on point. A demon with full bolt ons would be pretty sick. I think there are ones with custom tunes at 800whp already.

I have a Challenger and my dad has the Camaro. The Camaro drives great in curves and handles really well. The Challenger is at its best going fast in a straight line and doesn’t handle great in curves at all. All in all they are both great cars and it’s a personal preference.

Stock, the ZL1 is 650 at the crank and 567at the rear wheels best I have seen. If a person could gain that many horses from bolt ons n gas then nobody would need. superchargers, turbos, Cams etc..
5.7L Hemi the dodge demon is rated 840 hp and is 9.5 in 1/4 according to dodge that is the specs on the full set up. 9.5 bro a 10 speed auto Zl1 fastest time is a 11.2 in the 1/4 and the 6 speed manual roughly 11.5-11.6 so that Zl1 would at least need to swap pulleys full bolt on and would be to be low 10s maybe high 9s on radials. Heads cam will have you a 9 second Zl1 if not faster. So no matter what from a dig the demon should still take a headers, CAI tune Zl1.
Power to weight ratio pretty much same on these cars, real simple reason why demon 808 isnt 'winning'. The recycled mercedes Eclass weighs 15% more than camaro w 15% more power....what do you exepect?

Power ain't nothing if you ain't on a diet. Power is only as good as your gears, and the ZL1 with it's quick shifting transmission and gear ratio is good at getting the most out of acceleration. Japanese super cars, Italian and European cars are generally lighter and uses sleeker designs with lighting quick shifting transmissions. That is why they spank a lot of higher powered American cars even though their output is less.
People really need to do their research and understand how the Demon has to be set up to run nines. Race gas, race tune PCM, no passenger seat, transbrake on, proper DA, front skinnies, and perfect track prep. All that shit means nothing during its normal everyday driving setup. That's why Demons are getting spanked all over the place in street race videos.

Exactly, I've seen hellcats beat plenty of Zl1's. Albeit, the Hellcat and Zl1 are EXTREMELY close. Whoever gets the jump or a better start wins. But if they both get a good launch, the Hellcat usually inches away just a tad bit.

it is what it is, remember the ZL1 is making 700 at the wheels and is full bolt on, running race gas and is tuned to be fast and efficient at being fast, where as the Demons got 808 at the engine, weighs more, is stock and ill assume its on pump gas and even though its tuned from factory we all know manufacturers bottle these cars up to a certain degree but, for what it is, it does hold up well. and before someone says im a fan of one i couldn't care what either car was, it is what it is

To everyone saying the Demon is a strip car. That's BS. The main point of the thing was it was a streetable car that would run mid 9's. If its a strip car I guess a good match for it would be the "stock" COPO Camaro.
That car is a fucking pig. It's only a high 9 second car in perfect track conditions and the perfect race setting car setting etc. Otherwise street racing with a passenger without changing anything right off the show room floor that's an 11 second flat car at very best. Those challengers just weigh just weigh too dam much.
I have to say this is a humorous comment. Basically, "only under perfect conditions does a 100% stock car hit 9's". What a travesty. I would agree that they appear not to be the best stop light warriors, but it was not marketed as such. It was set up, and marketed, for the track. That Camaro in the video is a beast though.
5 stock demons ran at commerce in the Nmca HEMI shootout, crappy track conditions, all running 9.80-10.3, two had less than 300 miles on them. Pretty impressive for a heavy underpowered pos. You would have to suck at driving not to make a 10 second pass in a demon. Likewise I had to try like hell to make a 10.90 pass in my stock hellcat, and my Fbody shit the water pump in the staging lane

What most people dont get is the horsepower it says is at the crank which means it's getting around 640 more or less to the wheels and it only hits 9s on a very perfect day and very perfect launch plus its heavier than most cars which is why it loses every race on the street take it to a track and itll be a closer match

Not hating on any car but this ZL1 makes 720whp. That’s around 870 at the crank. So not only is it making more power it’s also around 700 pounds lighter. Makes total sense it wins. What’s crazy is it has a 15” rear wheel conversion with drag radials and the demon is still launching better with 18” wheels and drag radials. That suspension is on point. A demon with full bolt ons would be pretty sick. I think there are ones with custom tunes at 800whp already.

I have a Challenger and my dad has the Camaro. The Camaro drives great in curves and handles really well. The Challenger is at its best going fast in a straight line and doesn’t handle great in curves at all. All in all they are both great cars and it’s a personal preference.

Stock for stock or bolt on for bolt on. Most forced indicted rides get a huge boost from bolt ons and tunes. It's not surprising a lighter car making nearly the same power wins.
Both cars are making pretty much around the exact same wheel horsepower ~ 720+whp.

Kyler Adams Brother, there is no way on earth that a ZL1 is 880 at the crank with merely bolt ons n gas..That would mean that it has gained 180 horse power at the crank merely from bolt ons n gas.. Stock, the ZL1 is 650 at the crank and 567at the rear wheels best I have seen. If a person could gain that many horses from bolt ons n gas then nobody would need. superchargers, turbos, Cams etc..
5.7L Hemi the dodge demon is rated 840 hp and is 9.5 in 1/4 according to dodge that is the specs on the full set up. 9.5 bro a 10 speed auto Zl1 fastest time is a 11.2 in the 1/4 and the 6 speed manual roughly 11.5-11.6 so that Zl1 would at least need to swap pulleys full bolt on and would be to be low 10s maybe high 9s on radials. Heads cam will have you a 9 second Zl1 if not faster. So no matter what from a dig the demon should still take a headers, CAI tune Zl1.
Power to weight ratio pretty much same on these cars, real simple reason why demon 808 isnt 'winning'. The recycled mercedes Eclass weighs 15% more than camaro w 15% more power....what do you exepect?

Matt Rage, because when the car goes into any unlevel surface or uneven ground, driveway. the splitter will scratch very easy. that yellow covering helps to protect and prevent damage to it. they can be easily removed if the owner chooses to do so.

Power ain't nothing if you ain't on a diet. Power is only as good as your gears, and the ZL1 with it's quick shifting transmission and gear ratio is good at getting the most out of acceleration. Japanese super cars, Italian and European cars are generally lighter and uses sleeker designs with lighting quick shifting transmissions. That is why they spank a lot of higher powered American cars even though their output is less.

People really need to do their research and understand how the Demon has to be set up to run nines. Race gas, race tune PCM, no passenger seat, transbrake on, proper DA, front skinnies, and perfect track prep. All that shit means nothing during its normal everyday driving setup.
