Merrily painting Dwarfs that I bought 15+ years ago, just before GW murdered WHF.
I’m so jealous. I’ve tried to get myself some reasonably priced dwarfs second hand and it just isn’t possible! I’ll just have to wait for games workshop restocks 😩 I’m glad someone is getting to paint the joyously stumpy, grumpy, beardy little fellows! 😁
I’ll really depress you now. Stores were nearly giving stuff away back in, what?, 2015 was it? I have an Orcs&Goblins battalion box with $30 written on the shrink wrap. Blisters were like $2-$4 each.

Even if you don’t have painted armies, you guys could do theory-hammer with proxy units of either movement trays or just cardboard rectangles. I’m really interested in seeing as many examples of combat situations as I can get. It’s okay to say that you’re going to “adjust” the rules to your own tastes, but at some point you may be playing a pickup game or local tournament and need to know how the rules function in practice.
That’s a good idea! Have you tried that? I remember people in my club used to proxy things. Some of them required incredible levels of imagination. Deodorant bottles do not make for good steam tanks 😂
We used to make cardboard rectangles in the dimensions of the unit we were testing. Then drew a grid on the proxy card to represent the individual bases/models. Then covered the card with packing tape so you could mark off casualties with a grease pencil. Took all of 5 minutes to make. Then you could test the in play before buying anything. Figure out exactly how many models you wanted to run in what combinations of ranks and files.
Sounds sensible! That could certainly be really useful for working out what you want before buying it. Thanks for the tip!

I would like to see a video on listbuilding for the smaller forces. I guess Boarder Patrol is 500p? I haven't watched the PDFs you mentioned yet but I still would like too have some examples-lists for all factions. That is at least for me one of the biggest hurdles right now so that would be VERY much appreciated 😅

Really like the border patrol concept, and am excited to see some tiny battle reports^^ Don't be afraid to use your living room in the beginning, and don't mind if there is a lack of variation to the forces. Better to start where you are and build up from there. Keep at it!

I would love to. One of my favourite armies. Believe me I’m trying! 😩 I can’t find any warriors anywhere for less than a rip off. If you find any for a half decent price let me know 🥴 I’m hoping the dwarves will be the next release after orcs and goblins, and if so I’ll be snapping them up on preorder and bringing them to the channel asap 😁
Some of these rules doesnt make sence especially the Bretonnian and TK restrictions. Why can TK have more then one chariot and why is the liche priest allowed to cost 165 Points.
The Bretonnian BSB restriction is also nonsense because you can only have one hero which can't be a BSB anyways.
As I say in the video I just lifted these from an old white dwarf. One day if I get enough time I’ll play test changes to make them old world specific, but the idea is that people take these as a framework for smaller games. Feel free to make amendments as you see fit 👍🏼
